- This video was taken on 12th July 2023 and hopefully it can give the viewer a feel of the atmosphere created in this iconic Ballroom which was very busy on the day.. The atmosphere was buzzing. There was a visit from television with a crew with a camera guy and presenter following a group of visitors amassed near the stage. Many of the regular dancers were there and enjoying the ballroom with music played for the Breakaway Blues on the Roland organ by favourite Chris Hopkins.
His name is John. Lovely man!
We don't know him by name, we just admire his energy and joy when he dances.

Hello, can anyone tell me who the gentleman is with the white shirt, black waistcoat and glasses? We were in the ballroom yesterday watching some dancing and we were captivated by him! He was fantastic😊. I see he features in a few ballroom videos on here. Thank you.
We only know him as Simon, he is a star and hasn't been going to the tower for that long, but he loves what he does and he does it well.
