You should’ve tried G&L…now THOSE are unique pickups
The Tele sounds like a Tele. The PRS sounds like... an electric guitar. I.e. it doesn't really sound like anything. For me it's the same with all PRS guitars. The look and sound OK but lack personality.
My current T-style is a Sire Larry Carlton T3 in sunburst. I figured it was good for modding, but it’s fine enough stock that I don’t think I need to upgrade it after all. (I’m waiting to try out the S5, but I have a feeling if I’m not quick enough they’ll sell out.)
I have an NF 53. It is not exactly a Tele but similar. Great guitar! It sounds like a Tele mated with an SG Junior
What about Maybach? Been eyeing those, but not much info is available (other than what’s on your homepage).
I loved the first Harley Benton TE-62cc LPB I bought and played, that I bought another in Dakota Red !
U guys are awesome 🎉❤😊
How does the Miles Kennedy model compare?
I totaly dislike the PRS. First i dont like the esthetics. Yes how a guitar looks is important for me. You play a guitar more often if you like the esthetics. But thats maybe just me. A 3 - 3 headstock on this kind of guitar is not for me at all. Also the pickguard doesnt fit the shape of the guitar. Also i like my string through on a tele. And the sound doesnt sings tele to me. If i play a tele, i also want to sound it like a tele, no matter witch brand. This prs sounds...well ..like an electric guitar. No personality, nothin special. Well, to my ears. That also may be just personal preferences.
My tele is a made in china Squier classic vibe 50s tele. It has a satin neck, i think the preowner did this because my cv 60s strat neck is totaly glossy. But it is a good work. You dont see it, just feel it. It was nearly like new when i bought it for only 210€. Cant beat it at that price range. 😁👍🏻
You guys are brilliant!!
Thanks, you are very kind! 🙌 //Kris
Tellement mieux le selecteur de micro de la prs. J ai jamais pu me faire a celui d une télé standard.
3K for a bolt on and no string through are the two things I dislike about the PRS. It’s probably pretty great anyway, though.
I prefer Kris's Tele. The PRS has less highs, but the attack is "harder" sounding. The total flux strength of the NF53's might be much higher than the Tele SC's. That can make more difference in harshness than how much high end, especially if both types have strong 3-3.5kHz. From this demo, I conclude the NF53's are nothing special. PRS has always been grasping at straws regarding pickup tech, anyway.
The NF design seems a bit whack, and not based on anything tech that would offer any advantage over anything. Seems more like a marketing move by PRS that something with an aperture between a mini-HB and SC is somehow advantageous. The muti-pole piece thing also seems like an unnecessary labor expense. Let's say there two kins of Steel, or one is a type of AlNiCo. What possible advantage is there? The Steel would the inductance, but also reduce the highs. Why not just use 404 Stainless bars and a bar magnet for no loss of highs and less coil wire for the same inductance. See the Wilde L45S and L48T models.
There is nothing less interesting for me than prs guitars 🤷🏼♀️ never liked the style, colour, headstock or anything. Dont know why, but i dont like them
Yeah, they're not for me either.😬
