Indeed! Folks don’t remember those for some reason. I love the EG’s, would like to get one with the 3 Fralin pickups, but my HSS is killer. Another unsung PRS single coil hero is the DC3. Got one in like 2014 on clearance from guitar center, and didn’t understand how no one wanted them. Fast forward and hear we are with the silver sky, guess the market just changes 😅 party on, Wayne 🤘🏻
Most of my videos post every Tues. Next Tues will be the last one for a month or so because I'm moving. Congrats on the 59, lmk what you think of it when you get it and def lmk what you think of this video after you watch it. Cheers 🤘🤘
If I wanted. Strat, I’d buy a Fender, but you are right, the NF53 while being similar to a Tele is different too. I found myself actually starting to get interested in the NF53, but when I checked them out and I saw the price……well, let’s just say that I’d have to be a lot more than just interested in a guitar to shell out that kind of money.
I hear you completely. It's really a very different thing than a Tele. It has a similar neck profile to my 54 esquire so it makes sense it was inspired by a 53. I would be interested to see it in a few different esthetics. As always, thank you for watching and your two cents!
The price is well out of my range, but the second they announce an SE model, I'm preordering. Good sound demo, homie. Everybody is always trying to dial it in as Tele-ish as possible in all their demos. Sounded really good with the dirt turned up. From everything I've seen and heard, it really has it's own thing going on.
Its not "cheaping out". There are 10 thousand dollar Gibsons with plastic keys. If you put your headstock against the wall and strum it, its 10 times louder. So there is a ton of vibration going on at the headstock. And who the hell do we think we are questioning Paul? He has built some of the most beautiful guitars in existence. I tink he knows what hes talking about.
I got the Myles Kennedy one in a trade last week and it’s my favorite guitar I own now. 100% expected to sell it, but sheesh. FINALLY a PRS that feels inspiring to play. (Never played a bad one, just haven’t owned one personally with the SAUCE until now)
This seems to be a guitar that wins over non prs people. It's def a departure from what they normally do. It's got good old fashioned MOJO! Rock on! 🤘 thank you for watching. Please subscribe and join the madness. 🙌
@@TheNeuroticGuitaristbeen subbed for a minute my friend! Love the videos. I’ve had a silver sky, a 594 S2 and a Special 22 in my rotation. All great, none of them one me over. This one has though!
Another great video bro. I love how you edit in the witty overlays throughout the video. Must take you ages. Hey what model is the green PRS on the right of screen? The lighting really accentuates the carving of it. Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
It's a 1/1 midori sour 513!!! Thanks for watching. And yes, it does take me a pretty decent amount of time. I have some time oh my hands because my whole studio is apart. Next week is the last video for a while
I like that he did he take on the Tele. It's cool but there's something odd about it. I can't decide. Maybe it's the pick guard shape? I'm sure it's an awesome guitar though. By most accounts everything PRS makes is good.
I will say, that's probably what surprised me the most is how quiet it is with the single sound...it sounds more like a tapped sound to me, so def in between, but all three positions are very usable and I liked a lot. Super cool guitar.
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist Think about how may peopIe your videos are fuIIy going to turn the worId onto New PIayers...... Gibson shouId be kissing your ASS!!! = SaIes~
It's an etude I found online as a practice. I have been watching a lot of ig and tiktok guitar passages to find neat things to play on repeat throughout videos. I find it boring to just play the same riffs so I try to find cool little neoclassical passages like that! So glad u dug
I definitely could see myself talking about ways to do safe trades over the internet. Insurance is boring. You pay for it and hope you don't have to use it.
I love that it doesn't have the twanginess of the Tele that I just don't care for the sound of. In fact, at 11:02 at the neck position, you got a sticky fat tone that would have screamed "cowboy" on a Fender Tele! And I'm not talking about a buttery Hollandaise kinda tone, I mean a big, fat, unctuous Brisket right off the smoker oozing juices down your fingers kinda tone! Mmm! Chef kiss!
Ok, this sounds way better than my first Tele copy by Elektra! That thing was heavy. A a strat fan I like the tones it put out. I would be in the market for one, but I do not have an R9 yet...
Another kickass creation by PRS. Can’t wait to try one out. Damnit Benny!!! I’m gonna have to cheat on my good eating habits and order a pizza!!! How many pizzas have been sold after viewing this video?
I mean my private stock guitars have wooden tuner knobs to reduce mass. I guess that would kinda be crazy to do all core production guitars that way...so plastic was the next best thing. BTW LOVE the green 513!
I have a seafoam one, too!!! Just packed up for my move. What kinda private stock do you have? Thanks for watching, please subscribe and join the madness
Thanks brother. Got one more video coming at ya next week and then I'm off for a bit. Shorts from all of these videos will keep posting through June, but I imagine I'll be back sometime in mid April, may?
It's like a Tele that ate a LOT of meat growing up and lifted weights. It has Tele characteristics, but it just has more GIRTH. Which has always been something I've desired out of a Tele.
LOL, I commented the same thing to a different vid looking at the guitar, it's not a Tele, it's T-Type. Having said that, I wouldn't say no if someone gave me one ;)
You? Buy another guitar? NO WAY 😜 these are really cool. I'm not a huge Tele style guitar guy myself, but I found this one very intriguing and clearly enjoyable to play. Everything from prs is always enjoyable to play!
The problem with this model is that classic Tele players not gonna love it because how not classic the model is, and its also gonna scare not Tele players because they gonna think it gonna sound like a Tele. Only adventurous players gonna pick this guitar.
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist I got the straight black. The finish is so thin that I can still see the grain through it (it’s not the doghair black). I love it because it’s so light and easy to play lol. I have a ‘22 lp std and that’s close to it but they’re so different yet similar. It’s like my tele had a baby with my lp and it’s wonderful! Excited to watch it!
They sound nothing like single coils! PRS, once again, in their pursuit of flawlessness, have managed to obliterate all of the signature sound & mojo , leaving a guitar that nobody ever thinks "I want to sound like that!"
@@TheNeuroticGuitarist not a dig at u, bro. And I'm not a PRS "hater" either. Ive got an SE, and someday I'll get a Core. The top carve is the most beautiful on the game. But the lack of mojo critique is widespread. It's not just me...
@lueyteledeluxe7457 you're def not the only one and I am not going to tell you I haven't played mojoless PRS'. I've handle thousands at this point and I don't blindly love guitars. I certainly advocate for them, but not every guitar resonates with everyone. I'm actually not a Tele guy. As I was filming this my 54 esquire, a real one, showed up. PRS tried to make a strat-sounding PRS guitar long ago that just never really caught on and was abandoned called the EG3.
