I see that you had the ehu on you van, the cable should always be always fully unwind! If you don't the cable will get hot and catch fire only reason I'm say this is because I was a park warden many years ago and almost every day is had to ask people to not do it!! But have a good time in your camper van

I think you should buy some corn on the cob prongs then holding them is easier also maybe buy a small waste caddy for collecting tea bags etc which will sit in the kitchen worktop. Love your van and look forward to more adventures.😊

Loved the emptying of the chemical toilet! When I had building works done they put a temporary toilet in the backyard which was inaccessable mostly on week days, so I had one which generally got emptied once a week. I look forward to seeing it emptied when it is fuller. You need a steady hand!

We used to run a campsite yes people leave ehu cables when they go out and also reverse into pitch as grass allocated to pitch usually goes on the left ...also we have done van builds and yes issues arise but the memories you make are amazing ...don't get stressed what will happen will happen stress won't change that .. followed you two for many years looking forward to this year's vlogs in Taylor x

For the hole in the roof for the door bolt use a plastic pipe plumbing insert they come in various sizes and metal or plastic this will create a nice finish
The poo controversy had me in stitches. Thanks for the laugh 😂
So much work to restore the van and there are still many problems, who inspected the van and said it was a good choice?
It will be worth it in the end hopefully

Hi Leigh and Nick great to see you using the van it's been a long time coming. I don't know if you noticed on the radio in the van when you had the issue if you look as the brown wires it looks like they have been compressed maybe that's caused the issue, just thought I'd mention it.
A few years ago we went on a caravan holiday to Brean Sands in Somerset and we ended up leaving really early in the morning for home as it got really windy, so much so it felt like the roof was going to blow off. The whole idea of having to empty the chemical toilet puts me off the thought of going on a camper van holiday as I would the one who always had to empty it 😝
Emptying the loo isn't as bad as you think in the end (I just make nick do it 😂)
Have look for sliding door stoppers, really easy to fit and you put then in the runners
Fabulosa little getaway, 😊a few minor adjustments in the van nothing to fret over, everything’s fixable, your air fryer should have a Toast or Grill button on it for doing your toasts. Was a fantastic vlog, loveddddd it, love ya’s ❤❤

Loads of wires maybe overloading. Nick a pressure washer sometimes can effect the electric like you mentioned with me it plays he'll with my reverse sensors. Enjoy guys.👍
Ack better to get these little problems and sort them along the way, was nothing major so hopefully all is good now, campsite looked great as did the van...cant wait to see the next location ❤

I got a brand new Seat. It was a nightmare! The radio went first. Then the sat nav. Then major error warnings and told me to stop driving. That happened three times. They agreed to take it back in the end. Two weeks at a time they took it in for. 😮 ps. When I first got a van, I found people on the campsites were more than happy to help with any issues like grey waste etc. They’re a helpful lot! Often they give you spare bits etc.😊
My mum recommends cherry blossom black shoe polish for the bumper, it’s comes up jet black!
How come you haven’t removed the middle seat in the front? Surely if you removed that you’d be able to get to and from the back with ease?
some things we found useful in our camper: washing line for shower to hang up wet jackets, blankets/throws to get cozy on an evening to save on power, door mat for outside, outside kitchen set up to cook outside, paperplates etc to save on water, board games/cards, first aid kit and washing up bowl so food waste doesnt go down the drain into tank. Have fun

We also have a brand new caravan that we have gone away in twice now for long weekends, the list grows of things we need each time we use it 😩🙄
We have a box of disposable gloves kept in our van to use when emptying the loo cassette 🥴 Also, grab some non slip drawer/cabinet liners and rubber containers to put everything in, in your cupboards to stop things moving/rolling about 👍

Do you think you will quickly get sick of the van life? I would like the thought of it but the practicality of it would drive me insane.
Sorry bit random but whilst watching Leigh hang the washing I noticed he was pulling out whites and darks from the same wash, my whites go grey if I put them on with the darks.
When my partner changed the radio in our jeep it drained all the power, the battery kept going flat , it was a nightmare, changed back to original radio all issues were solved . Might not be the same issue but seems oddly familiar .
It suddenly started working again and been fine ever since so we think it may have been the water from the jet wash
You need to have a logbook for the camper sites so in case you want to stop by a year or two later. Write their phone number too in case you go on a holiday.
We have a van life journal where we are logging all those details 👍♥️❤️

It's great that you've stayed in the van for a couple of nights. Loved watching both vlogs. I reckon you will keep finding these odd bits that need adding,fixing and best you are sorting those now rather than in a different country. Well done both of you

Those problems will get taken care of and then y'all will be ready for an extensive road trip. It's better to find these problems now rather than when y'all are traveling through Europe

Loving the vlogs. There's a toast setting on your airfryer, makes great toast, and even better cheese on toast mmm
We have a rangemaster cooker, & we have to keep the button in for awhile for to get the grill light, its like the gas takes awhile to catch to the grill ,
noticed that when you hooked up you didnt unroll the hook up Entirely. Its best to unroll the hook up completely or you could end up with the wire setting on fire. We had a tourer and was told about this.
Boys; we’re caravanners and you can use the on board water for boiling the kettle for tea. We’ve drunk from our taps for over 15 years no problem. We do use bottled water in the fridge for drinking. Love the vlogs as always xx
I think taking these short trips to start out with is an excellent idea, so you can at least get some problems diagnosed and fixed before you attempt a longer journey. Of course, on the next trip there’ll be a whole new set of problems to deal with, but I suppose that’s inevitable.
I am not a mechanic or electrician, no van life for me! LOL I will stick to my hotels on the beach.

Love van life vlogs! All the troubles and hard work will be worth it once you start having all your adventures. Sure its all more involved than hopping a plane somewhere but the adventure is going to be so different and the challenge is all part of the journey.
Although Nick I am concerned your gonna end up with a concussion from whacking your head on that cabinet in middle of the nite. 😉
We had a kitchen cupboard like that. Hit it many times till I taped a sponge or something soft onto it. It could put your eye out, very dangerous. Loving your trip.
So funny….at the end of the vlog I started to yawn and Leigh started a second later. Not bored just has a busy day. Loved the vlog. So many wrinkles to iron out but you will get there. Over here (US) the hatch at the back of the big(ish) RV is called the Toy Garage…..toy meaning quad bike, normal bikes, electric bikes, dinghy etc.

Ahhh really enjoyed this vlog I'd absolutely love that now just waking up in different places, like leigh said you wouldn't think your in a van.. it looks so cosy. I bet at night it's so snug and cosy
Your gas engineer is responsible for the appliances he passed if he did a simple test (which he needs to do) to check that the thermo couple works and wont keep on letting gas pass if there is a flame failure! he would of realised there is a problem! Did he really check your van for safety or did he just give a certificate? Keep up the good work lads enjoy your videos!
Could you cut a hinged, closable, peep window in the feature wall to see into the front cab and out the front window? It would be handy to be able to see out the front sometimes.
Nick could the radio system have been doing an update?
