Hi, I know it's late but your wrists might hurt because they aren't strong enough to hold your weight in that position: joints often strengthen more slowly than muscles as the tissues are less vascular. Try looking up and doing some wrist strengthening exercises ^-^ Hope this helps. Edit: as a short term alternative, if it is just wrist pain, try doing them on your fists/knuckles. It straightens your wrist out so it doesn't have as much strain on it.

Now that I've realized the correct position (close to body), whenever I press it away from the body, I feel that I slightly rotate my elbows away from the body. Is this a wrong movement or is it ok? Hi Valquiria, so pleased to hear this video has helped with your technique. Hi anonymous - great question. What we would recommend doing is: 1) doing the exercise where you just do the downwards movement, then get on all fours to get yourself back up. Focus on a controlled downwards movement for at least 3 seconds. 2) try doing mini movements - where you only go part of the way down and then back up. as you get stronger increase how far you go down until you can do a full one. By doing this you will build your strength up, whilst keeping perfect form. Let us know how you get on!
When I come down on the knee pushup, my body naturally makes contact with the ground. Is there any way to weed out this problem? I should add this has been very helpful, most notably with setting it up as before I never could get in a good position
Hi thejintymyster - we are so pleased to hear this has helped with your starting position. When you say your body makes contact with the ground, which bit of your body touches the ground?
@@thejintymyster6396 this might be because you are losing that straight line between your shoulder and knees whilst you go down. Hi Abdullah, you want to have rest days to allow your muscles time to recover, so we would recommend doing this exercise three times a week (with a rest day in between each session). And then for reps try doing two less than the maximum number you can do (making sure you keep perfect form). Let us know how you get on!
Hi Jishnu, so: 1) Knee problem - Try putting some soft cushioning under your knees (like a towel folded over). 2) The waist touching the ground first - This means that you need to activate and strengthen your core more. - You can activate is by focusing on bringing your belly button in towards your spine and by squeezing your glutes. - To make it easier you can just do the downwards part of the exercise. Hi Badshah, so in answer to your questions: 1) How to keep the elbows in? When you do the kneeling push up, can you get someone to stand above you, and put their hands either side of your arms. That way you will know as soon as your elbows come out. Also, only go as low as you can keep your elbows in. As soon as they flare out - don't go any lower.
