I keep telling people this as well. The extra $200 a month would certainly help. I’m on disability SSI and ebt which they cut by $100 a few months this ago. Given my health conditions I’m suppose to be on a special diet and I can no longer afford to eat how I’m suppose to. Off topic I’m finding it more challenging finding doctors and dentist that except my state medical and if I do find one that is primary care and specialist they are pushed out close to 9 months right now here in Washington state. Every time the 1st or 3rd falls on the weekend or holiday SSI, SSDI will get "2 checks" it's not anything extra for those of you new to the program and my guess is in 2025 the cola will not increase much, we will be lucky if it's 2% which isn't much, we won't know til October or so🤦🏽♀️

Most senior, single women that I know are in retirement crisis. I live in a mobile home and own my home, but lot rent is increasing by 45%!!!!! It's insane!!!! That doesn't even count for food, energy, gas, medication. We are in a financial TRAP!!!! While our Government keeps sending money to other countries!!!!!!! We feel like we are being eliminated! The second check at the end of May is not an extra check they don't send checks out on weekends so that May 31st check is for June the 1st. Saying that people get two checks like they're going to get two checks for May and then one for June; this confuses people! You need to tell people what's really going on. That way, people aren't gonna be all upset if they don't get another check in June.

Yes there is definitely a retirement crisis. I worked hard on a minimum wage job and was barely making it then. But if people would stop lying about a fourth stimulus payment, getting our hopes up. Tell the truth and shame the devil!!!

@@shalaemorgan hi Shalae I’m a senior citizen and I feel bad for the homeless more than anything. They’re judged and condemned for the situation they’re in. I do understand how it is because at one time I was homeless with two kids, 5 years old and 18 months old. We are amongst the blessed. I chose to get on my feet even though I felt that I was getting slave wages and that’s no joke. I know many people give up and do things they shouldn’t for a meal or whatever. If people would help these people at least a percentage of them will fight instead of doing Lord knows what and try harder. Forgive me if I sound a little crazy, but I struggled. My kids are 45 and 41 now and still striving to do better and I thank God for showing us there’s always hope.
Social Security is getting two checks because the first of the month of June is going to be on a weekend but if you receive SSI and SDI you get two checks every month anyways

It's only because of the weekend. That is your main payment. Then at the end of May because of how the payment date is set you get it early. It is still your June payment. Please look at a calendar know what day you get yours. Most of us know when we get our checks. If you get it on the 3rd and it falls on a weekend it will get bumped up to the Friday before. If you get it on the 1st same situation. If it falls on a weekend it will be bumped to the Friday before.

Retirement funds do not exist . But because I was married for more than 10 years in New Jersey and never remarried . Stay at home Mom and married for around 19 years. His Social Security is greater than mine therefore I can go on his in which I am in the process of doing. Just will not receive the full amount until I am 67 . Still a decent increase until then . Who has money to save when there isn't enough money to exist due to shrinkflation, inflation lack of proper control of Social Security calculations and funding usage! Also insulin is suppose to be 35 dollars a month supply but there are a lot of pharmacies that do not honor this. When taking insulin you are suppose to waist 2 units every time you take your insulin so when they fill it you get a month and three or four more doses and we are getting charged for two months when it should be 35 , its 70 a month. Myself and my husband are on two insulin’s i get help with mine but the way they do it for my husbands is 140 for both instead of 70 for both for a month. I hope you can understand this.

I am a little confused because when you receive your check on the 31st is not 2 checks for May, it is you receiving June's check early. Now if we got another check in June, that would be two checks in May. We always get early check's when the third falls on a Saturday or Sunday for the following month and we do not get another check in the month. That bigger raise on SSI would be better and a two hundred dollar raise would be a much better way to help us that is on SSI and we need that now because when you get a check once a month and got utily bills today and they are going up on everything a two hundred dollar raise on SSI would help alot
