Beautiful stuff! For all the people that allegedly head up into that area, I'm impressed you all were able to get the campsites you did and still find what appeared to be an abundant supply of wood for burning. It seems like the more popular areas typically have all their deadfall pretty much picked clean making it hard to have a fire, when they are even still allowed in such areas.
Your videos keep making my list longer! That is one beautiful hike. My husband did a trip there before we met but I've never been. Will have to change that. You also inspire me to keep a positive attitude regardless of weather or mosquitoes. Meeting a new friend to hike with, meeting an old friend on the trail-talk about serendipity. Kind of gives me chills-you were definitely meant to be there.
Catherine Gregory While our kids were traveling with us my husband wasn’t on board to hike in grizzly country. But now that only he & I can be attacked we have a lot more leeway!
Astounding! How wonderful that you got to share the experience with two other luminaries in your world. As always, I am grateful to receive the view of life from your perspective.
I had three trips in the Sierras set up for this summer but the moquitos kept me away from all three trips. They are about as bad or worse this year than they have ever been in my memory. You now you are starting to acquire a more out-doorsie look to yourself. I like it!
I’m so glad I discovered your channel! I’m enjoying catching up on your back catalogue. What a gorgeous hike - lovely photos - fun to watch you and your friends living it up. I’m glad you have added more music to your latest videos - I think it adds a lot.
Serenity! Amazing how it must have felt to not see cars and motor boats and trash all over. These areas need to be preserved forever. Truly heaven on Earth! Thank you so much! 😉
Having hiked most of the John Muir Trail and Whitney I really thought nothing would ever stand up to the beauty of the JMT but this is close if not more so in several areas. Catherine your photography is outstanding on this one. When you said how much you were moved by your surrounding I totally understand, there is something magical that happens when you are up in the high country.
Catherine, so glad that I discovered your channel. The video of your trip through the Winds is amazing. The beauty of the place had me in tears. Safe travels and hope to see more of your videos real soon.
Wow! Beauty almost too much to take in. The flowers! What a lucky person you are to hike with not only Bryan but Coach too. We follow Bryan and at times have come near to meeting him. Your photography is breathtaking. This video was a true gift
Happy 3 months anniversary Catherine!! Beautiful area....Lushness carving it's way through ruggedness....however....it is your unique "Cat way" of presenting it that holds my interest throughout....those beautiful flower shots especially the red ones vs the background......the wide angle views of what you consider awesome plus your narration also. I like the squirrels too......It feels like you showed me another planet. Lol. Thanks!!!
I did this same route in 2017! Your hiking partner was a huge help and influence via his videos! So pretty, I actually had to fight tears at times. Special range for sure!
As soon as I saw the beginning with Bryan walking along the same path as you, I knew you were blessed with a great trip. I have often wanted to hike with someone as knowledgeable about the area as he is. I'm so slow with aging joint issues, I know no one would last long with me! I have watched all of his vids, and most of the ones from the Winds multiple times. I am so envious (happily for you) that you had great company as well as perfect scenery. He just lives in the state next door. I tried once from Green River Lakes and was injured and unable to continue. I want to return and at least try to get to Photographers point from your starting trailhead. It really amazed me that with all your Sierra views and experiences, you were in such awe of the Winds. I was in tears of joy and aware of God's presence when I was there, even when turning back. Beautiful filming and great encouragement for me to try again. Ironic and sad that while I went to UW, I didn't know anything about hiking and missed those incredible treasures.
I normally watch your videos on my apple TV ... so never get to (or more honestly take the time) to comment. That changes today. I loved this video so much. I have watched all your videos - all. I have watched all of Bryan DeLay’s videos, all of Joey ‘s and most of Coach’s. So this was really fun to watch. Couple that with the beautiful scenery and WOW. Someday I hope to do what you’re doing and am trying to align things in my life in such a way to make that possible. I’m 57.. so time’s a ticking. The other thing I forgot about was that you had a Patreon account! I’m signing up now. My neice and I are going backpacking in Glacier in a couple of weeks.. thanks for the inspiration to keep pursuing beautiful places.
My favorite place. Simply stunning. I was getting teary eyed watching this. I’ve been there five times and definitely need to go back (last time was about 10 years ago☹️. My strategy is to go after Labor Day. You don’t get the flowers, but most of the people are gone and, more importantly, I’ve never seen a mosquito. Went one time in late November. The only person i saw all week was a dayhiker in the parking lot when I got back to the car. Ok, maybe I don’t need quite that much solitude, but it was interesting.
I would HIGHLY recommend hiking up through Titcomb Basin (with a side trip to Indian Basin - feels a little like being on the moon, but with lakes everywhere) then over Knapsack Col (sorry, no trail), down to Peak Lake then pick up the Highline Trail back toward Island Lake. Fabulous loop!
Job well done. This is Brian Miller...I hiked with the Professor (aka Bryan Delay) to the Cirque of Towers just last week (we finished our hike last Monday). You have to run if you want to keep up with The Professor...I thought about putting rocks in his pack to slow him down but I think he would just speed up with more weight! It looks like my next trip to the Winds will have to include the Titcomb Basin! Nice videography and commentary. Keep up the good work. Brian
Unbelievable views! What a pleasure to see this area. I would like to see this area some day if I can get the time off. So happy that you are providing these views for us to watch. I'm taking a week at the beginning of Sept to backpack through Agnew Meadows along the River trail to Ediza, Shadow, Ruby and Garnet lakes. Your videos inspire! thanks for sharing.
Between the views, flowers, and lakes, I’m in love!!! Just incredible!! Have you ever thought about being a guide? I did my first hike in years today at Tyler State Park in Texas. It was great. You were a big inspiration.

Catherine just watched this one because as you know I’ll be getting on the PCT again soon for a LASH to get another long part of the trail done but I may be getting to go do some of the winds right after I get off the pct mid September so it was really awesome to watch your video on that area. Man you were right, that might be the most beautiful piece of trail I’ve ever seen. Cheers
Ahhh!!! You will love the Winds. It definitely reminds me of the Sierra in a lot of ways. Glad you will be getting back on the PCT!! I do miss the Sierra and expect to do some trips there in the fall.
Absolutely beautiful. I've been places in the Sierra that were so beautiful, they made me want to cry, and I may have even shed a tear or two. Those views remind me so much of the Sierra. Hopefully, I'll get up there some day soon.

Love it. You smile even in the rain. And you know who you smile like☺. Thanks for bringing us along on another beautiful adventure Catherine. Great filming as always. Wonder if one of those grizzlies could roust out your mice😉😉
Everyone needs to do this in their life, especially now with this pandemic. I feel that being out in nature is the answer for so many of humanity's problems. this place looks inspiring to say the least. thanks for sharing it with us. I have no words to describe the beauty of this planet, and exploring it in person is even more mesmerizing!
This is probably your best video yet. I particularly liked all the flowers and the chipmunk! Live your dream! Real emotion comes through you and your hiking buddies.
I'm a transplant here in Washington state and I thought I had landed in one of the most beautiful places- which it is!- but Wyoming is absolutely out of this world gorgeous!! Thank you for sharing this amazing place!
I don't think I've ever seen so many wild flowers Catherine. Meeting old friends must have been wonderful for you as well. I really enjoyed it, made a boring Monday into a holiday. I so remember those nighttime thunderstorms. I often wondered why they seemed to be almost a daily occurence, but never in the flat lands. Thank you for the beautiful videos.
Great video Cat, you captured this special place so well. I actually got teary eyed because your video was so inspiring. I lived in Colorado for 25 years before retiring to Florida. I miss the west so much 🥲
Whoa,,,,, such epic beautiful scenery, was asking myself "Is it real, or what ?!?!",,, (wait, someone else said that too already,,,) marvelous,,, Thanks so much for sharing,,, Safe, happy & blessed travel, hiking on your all journey,,,
Continuous improvement. Adding friends to your stories keeps things fresh. The Bridger Wilderness is the most visited Wilderness in Wyoming and Titcomb Basin is world renown. I hope your friends were not burning their garbage, especially any foil and plastic food packaging, in the fire rings. I had to pack out more foil and poly than I care to think about. The slide show at end was neat closer. Great trip.
Catherine, This may have been one of your best. It is not very often you can feel the majesty of the scenery watching on a small screen, but you accomplished that. This was an awesome experience watching this video. As always thank you for taking us with you it is much appreciated. Cat stay safe.
Great video! I've enjoyed yours, Brian's, and Coach's videos through the years. I actually camped about 50 feet to the left of your spot at Island Lake. I was there on 8/10 thru 8/12 so I just missed you all. I agree about Titcomb nearly bringing one to tears. It was truly stunning. Also, it got below freezing in 8/10 and 8/11 and I think that knocked down the mosquitoes. It was sooooo much nicer sitting and staring at Island Lake without the vampires constantly attacking. If you haven't been to Cirque of the Towers please go. It's as awe inspiring and Titcomb is beautiful. Happy to see you living and amazing life. Enjoy.
Thank you! I actually watched your video, but wasn’t able to comment. I thought you might have been camped in the same exact spot. lol What a great place. My favorite trip this season. You got lucky with the mosquitos. On my next trip in the Sawtooths, mosquitoes weren’t an issue thankfully.
Oh Catherine! You’re so right in that finding the right words to describe the beauty of that place is pointless! And with an unexpected friend, priceless. You sure look cute in your camo tank top. I’d love to hear you give more temperature updates. Sometimes on the same trail you can go from a tank top to a coat. Just curious from one of your fans. Thanks again for sharing. Stay safe! 💕🙏☮️
OMG Cat!! This was absolutely gorgeous, probably your best video yet! At times it didn’t even look real it was so amazing... I also enjoyed your banter with Bryan & Coach, looked like you guys were a good team! Also loved all of the pics at the end! Wow! Well kiddo, have a great week wherever you are and thanks for making the best videos on UA-cam!!! 😝👍👌❤️
Having the right attitude on the trail is so important glad to see you so relaxed and enjoying the scenery and your company. Great destination as well. Congrats on a perfectly executed adventure. Be safe.
Super job on the video Cat! You captured all the majesty and wonder of the Wind River. I can only imagine all the "WOWS" that were spoken out loud by your viewers as they watched! Continued best wishes....
What and Epic hike, beautiful, awesome, breathtaking and much more. Since those meals are so light carry extras never know what will come up. Thank You so much for this amazing trip
Just a beautiful trip. I have to see that place now. I watch Bryan's videos too and he seems like a great guy to hike with. You just raised the bar now Catherine, that video will be hard to top.
Hey! Awesome video; my wife and I were out there climbing Fremont Peak during the same days - we saw the food bag hanging on the sign, camped in almost the same spot near Island Lake, and met Coach and had a long talk with him at the Indian Basin junction when he was headed up into Titcomb! It’s crazy we didn’t run into you guys, but oh well - we go into that area every year, and it is hands down our favorite place in the world!
This one must have slipped past me while I was off grid. Absolutely stunning, Catherine. And it must have meant to be running into Coach. Greetings from cold, snowy Colorado, ugh.
What are the odds of running into people you know in that vast wilderness! You were in good company, that's like icing on the cake. Really loved the sights as always

For all the people that allegedly head up into that area, I'm impressed you all were able to get the campsites you did and still find what appeared to be an abundant supply of wood for burning. Thank you for watching! We got very lucky with the campsites and there wasn’t a wood at Island Lake. We had to do some searching for sure.
I can't get over the Stunning scenery. Brilliantly edited video Catherine. Love the videos.
Thank you Don. This has been my favorite trip this year, thus far.

Thank you! I actually watched your video, but wasn’t able to comment. I thought you might have been camped in the same exact spot. lol What a great place. My favorite trip this season. You got lucky with the mosquitos. On my next trip in the Sawtooths, mosquitoes weren’t an issue thankfully.
thanks for sharing and appreciating the magic of the earth.
Beautiful hike. I did the same hike two decades ago. Still very fresh in my memory.
Thank you so much Katherine
Absolutely the most spectacular scenery I've ever seen! Thank you for sharing and having this channel.
Thank you so much Carol. I felt the same way!
What magnificent, incredible beauty. and how cool is that running into Coach. Thanks for the awesome video Catherine
Mesmerizingly beautiful views! Glad you had good company for the trip. Thanks for taking us along
Adventure On!
Stay safe! 💕🙏☮️
Chuck Mastin Thank you Chuck.

Been to the Winds only once and we did this exact same trail. I remember it like it was yesterday though it was going on 30 years ago now. Incredible!
Having the right attitude on the trail is so important glad to see you so relaxed and enjoying the scenery and your company. Great destination as well. Congrats on a perfectly executed adventure. Be safe.

Amazing scenery. I have been looking forward to this hike. You never disappoint.
My son, friend and I are planning on doing this trail in August 2025. Can’t wait!
How cool!! It was my favorite trip of the year thus far. Thank you!
