    "Today on Mythbusters..."
Fascinating video! I usually use an exacto knife, but suffer the problem you mention in your video of the SAP and pulp spilling out of the diaper. Many times it even starts to work its way up between the outer diaper and spills out, and I get this cold feeling on my leg which turns out to be pieces of it! I never thought about using a tracing wheel, but it makes a lot of sense! Thank you for putting that in the video as a suggestion!

In my experience, one of the problems you can run into when doubling is diapers that use a lot of gel will swell as they get wet. With the outer diaper preventing them from swelling outward, they instead press hard against the skin. This can prevent the urine from flowing toward the back of the diaper as desired, but rather around the side of the legs/waist where there is nothing to absorb it. So aside from stuffers, I find that using something like Abena M4/L4 for the inside layer works best as it starts thick but doesn't really become thicker. The other diaper can be something that expands, and it's even better if the outer diaper has a wider cut so it catches any potential back-of-the-leg leaks of the inner diaper.
I also use the Abena Abri-san products as stuffers. They're meant for a pad/pant system, but can be perforated the same as a diaper. I sleep on my stomach at night, so I use a #7 and turn it around backwards so the large part is in the front. This works well for me.
Lastly, I find that when doubling, the outer diaper can slip down. One way I found to avoid this is by taping both sets of tapes to the outer diaper. This is a bit tricky to do. You start with the first diaper in place, but don't tape it. Pull the second diaper up to the front and get it positioned, then apply the tapes from the inner diaper first. Adjust the outer diaper if needed, then apply those tapes. I find that the tapes don't like to stick to the outside of other tapes, so plan ahead when positioning them so they all get a spot.

What I usually do before I layer one diaper over the other is that I take a sharp knife and cut the outer part of the diaper.

If this was all you had..life would suck for sure, but before I chanced Dbl diapering with these junky products, I would use a pamper ( real baby diaper ) as a stuffer. The best option is use better products.

The problem that a lot of people have is that their insurance providers, FSA/HSA and ect don't allow access to superior products. Some send products directly to you or give you a must cost below $x.xx per piece for reimbursement or require you to purchase through a certain list of retailers.
These people have to do what they can with what they can get unfortunately. Thanks to abusers of the system that claim incontinence and get products and then sell them on Craigslist, they make it harder and harder to get quality products as well.

@matthewmcwilliams I totally understand. Seriously. My aunt was incont after her 1st child. I showed her my stuff and gave her some. As you say, she was sent what the insurance offered. Crappy pullups
. Ned pads for nighttime. I asked the same thing and she gave the same sort of answer as you. I do genuinely understand doubling up. Sucks, because the core is such substandard material to begin with. It all fills to a terrible blowout mess in the end.

@@EpicOne-fn5ic it's a shame. Insurance to me is a sham. They don't care about your quality of life.

Add a diaper doubler insert to the inside of the brief.
