she displays narcissistic traits. no wonder why the daughter ran away.
She might feel that… but a normal loving might get out “I feel like I was a victim too” at her 12th talk with a therapist and then be so ashamed they spend the rest of the session contextualizing and trying not to walk that back in, never in front of her brutalized child.

When something like this happens it doesn't just affect the person it affects the whole family. She has every right to worry about how she's gonna feed herself and her other children and what's going to happen to herself later in life if she keeps giving everything she has to one child. What happens when the money runs out and she can't pay her rent or feed her other children

Being a teen myself, this legit scares me. Her mom should have been supportive instead of victimizing herself!

I just watch the full episode and she is so selfish, she spends the whole show trying to make it about her and then has the audacity to say that her daughter was manipulating the situation and making her look bad when she literally was just sharing her story. What a dumpster fire of a human being.

Moms aren’t being selfish, they’re trying to discipline their kids for their own protection and moms aren’t perfect. I felt the same about my mom in my teens, but thank Gd I was in a different world. Glad there was no social media then!

This was the most painful episode to watch. Watching the daughter stare numb at her Mum because she’s endured the worst imaginable pain, yet she has to listen to her mum make her suffering all about her instead… this woman is a Narcissist and doesn’t deserve to have such a strong and tolerant daughter 😢

I'm currently doing a research paper about human trafficking and how social media largely contributes to this problem. The more I research the scarier this gets. It's way too easy to get a hold of these young girls.

The couple should have to endure the same treatment they put her through. Absolutely horrendous! I can’t even imagine the trauma and flashbacks Hope has to go through for life.
It makes me sad how trusting kids are to people online. Parents need to teach their kids about these things and stop acting like real monsters don't exist.

This happened to me. Yea I should’ve known better that’s true. I had a very difficult home life for many reasons, you don’t think rationally at that age, you want what they’re saying to be true because you’re so desperate for love or attention that you’re willing to take a huge risk doing something like that. I was first groomed by other children who then introduced me to the trafficker, it can be very sophisticated. Anyway… I blamed myself for years but no one deserves this. I’m lucky I managed to put myself back together after and I’ve got a good career now, got off drugs (I was given crack after the first rape) and no one would guess I went through that now I’m an adult, but yea you’re right…
