I don't care how many times a GGO looks right at me, I get chills! That face and those eyes!! It is such an honor to be able to lock eyes with them. This was a great video. Thank you!
I just came across your video channel. Really good videos, pictures and stories. Very interesting to learn about the birds and birding community of the northern states especially. The landscape can be similar to what we have here in Scandinavia, but as for bird species, completely different.
Welcome aboard Per! Where do you live in Norway? My dad‘s family was from Melhus/Trondheim area and my mom’s family. It was from Bergen area. And I agree… Some of the boreal forest and bogs look very similar with some species overlap, but lots of different species.
Thanks for your reply. I thought you had some Norwegian connection with that family name. I from Baerum, just west of Oslo. Your videos motivates me to go to the northern US for birding, for sure. I have been to Texas and Florida. @@SparkyStensaas

Yes! Can’t wait for them to appear. It’s been quite warm just north of here in Canada. They have not made a big push yet.
Very cool encounter.

Just discovered this channel, and absolutely loved this video! Can’t wait to get up there this winter!
Thank you! Lots of Sax-Zim videos in my feed. Hope you have a chance to get there someday.
You’re certainly right about the tamaracks, Sparky. They were absolutely gorgeous last weekend in the bogs around Big Falls.
Thanks, Al! An underappreciated time of year.

Hi i just discover this Area, i want to went maybe one day in december after the hunting season to try my Canon R8 150-600mm :)
If you could wait and come up later in December or January or February, you will probably have much better luck. Just a tip.
What state are you in where this is ???
Hello gorila, The sax-Zim Bog is in northern Minnesota… About an hour northwest of Duluth. Our website is www.saxzim.org.

Incredible how everywhere those Great Greys look it is with extreme intent and focus seeking to identify any movement whatsoever
“Extremely intent” is a great phrase. They are completely focused on listening for voles.
