I sat inside brand new Scouts, circa 1970, when i was a kid.S,K, and M Implement Corporation. The mechanic told me not to turn the key to on or start, because i'd run the battery down! The sticker price was about $4500.00
@@DieseledDragon yeah I've been looking for one for my lil bro but most are back east I have has the factory pto winch ...I heard there's a scout yard in norcal
the sporttop specific rear seat, rear quarter trim left and right, the metal plate that that sits right above the tailgate, and the sportop soft top w glass
@@DieseledDragon pretty rare I’ve seen 2 in the past 2 years. I’m lookin for the rear seat also price wise might as well find a rear seat out of a jeep or a rear seat from bestop. As for the top I’m not sure on the soft top but my sport top is fiber glass.
Appreciate it. I currently just pulled my father-in-laws 1963 GMC from where it has sat the place since 1970, out of the lineup. My son wants to restore it (just turned driving age) and I am all for it, so now the "fun" begins.
@@GunsAndThe701 nice, they are just as fun to work on as they are to drive. My kids are already making claims for theirs at only 5 and 8 lol. As far as this Scout, its not at the front of the list for when i start making videos again. Im choosing to do a return video on either a 1990 7.3 idi or 70 Suburban, not sure which yet. The Scout will def get done though, it turns out it could be a 1 of 1 Sportop Convertible
Also have a 1963 Scout II. It runs great and a buddy of mine has it at his place. Just needs some minor restoration work, but it's licensed and runs down the road, not the most fuel efficient though, and it has the V8
I had no idea what that meant until last night, was curious and googled it. VIN number checks out as well, you may have just saved this from being a restomod.
I've owned a '68 800 and a '69 800A. They were both nothing but piles of rust. They were rusting in show rooms. You would park them in the garage, and you would hear them rusting away. The body mounts finally gave up. No replacements. Went to the scrap yard. Shame! Yours looks to be a two wheel drive version. Useless in my book.
i only have one to go by, but its not any more rusted than any other classic car, this particular one is a 1 of 1, ill give specifics in a future video
This video has no sponsors, i'm no where big enough to have sponsors. Promoted, yes i am paying youtube to promote this video and grow my channel a little , but no one is paying me for my video nor parts within my video, at least not yet.
@@DieseledDragon lol I never said this video has sponsors but the video itself is sponsored that’s why it was the first suggestion on my home page. It’s great you can do that but I wish I could turn that shit off

Don't throw away that oil-bath air filter!
That Scout started life as a Sport Top.
I have a 68. daily driver. friggin love the thing. smells, rattles, shakes, and rolls me.
Me gusta mucho el scoout.
Gracias
@@DieseledDragon gracias por todo.
I fully Appreciate your work :)
Thank you so much 😀

Release the dragon!!! 🦎
Been working on a 1966 looking for a second for my lil brother
nice, i just saw a 68 with v8 on ebay pretty good price, if it wasnt so far from me I would have already gotten it

I have a 66 sport had the same motor, I’m currently swapping in a international 266 v8
if you have any spare sportop specific parts let me know, im searching

Never under estimate an old IH.
Any follow up on this project?
Moving shops, the new shop is just a few weeks from being ready, has had several delays

That a sportop scout 800 you can tell by the rear bumpers and the Crome plates at the rear. It’s obviously Missing The sportop.
I had no idea what that meant until last night, was curious and googled it. VIN number checks out as well, you may have just saved this from being a restomod.
Even further research reveals that this may be the only sportop convertible 2WD
My bro has a Scout and Scout truck.
They are pretty cool little trucks, im about to do a big reveal about this particular one. Just waiting on one more part.
Wheres part 2?
Waiting on the new shop to get built, part 2 will revealing what i discovered about this one. This one is turns out to be very rare
@@DieseledDragon sounds good man. Thanks for the update.
That wouldn’t happen to be around missouri would it?
Picked it up in Arkansas
@@DieseledDragon nice, I’ve been on the search for my uncles old scout,so you know
whats the last 6 of the vin, ill let you know if this one is it

ah, this one is def not it, its a 2wd
Did you know a jeep 4.0 fits in there with no motor mount swap
I did not, but ill def consider one when the time comes, might make a poll on here
Not true for this scout. Only those that came originally with the AMC 232.
