How good was Ronaldinho actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most talked about players we've seen over the 2000's in football. In this episode we take on Ronaldinho who played for Barcelona, Flamengo, AC Milan and PSG for most of his career.

After weeks fighting copyright claims, I had to trim off a bit of the video at 11:38 so it could come back online. In that segment mentioned that then Ronaldinho went trough a poor season with sub standard performances, before another poor season with injury problems that many believed were caused by the fact he constantly missed his sessions with the club's medical team, not doing any physiotherapy and finally that his teammate Alexander Hleb even said that he and Deco would show up drunk to training, leading Guardiola to see them as bad influences on a young Messi and demand their exit from the club,

He may have not won the most trophies or scored the most goals, but during those 4-5 peak years he achieved Maradona level legend status. People weren't even mad that he was partying like he was, but it's the media's job to make it look bad. Even if you speak to someone who doesn't watch football, they will for sure recognize Ronaldinho. True global icon.
It's a shame that he was manipulated and was taken advantage of for his status

Brazilian players like to party haha ;) I will never forget Romario's antics here in The Netherlands. Always back late from holliday, always partying, always 'een beetje moe' (a little tired) and more excuses like that. But then on matchday he would score a hattrick or the winning goal and it would shut everybody up again.
Also players like Cruijff who like to smoke and drink some wine etc. If you are that good at the game people let you get away with a lot... untill it starts affecting the game and performance.

I wish you delved a bit more into how much people absolutely adored Dinho. The man was an absolute phenom, everyone loved him and I mean everyone! It wasn't just because of his outrageous skills but his personality, his smile even after being fouled, his dance with the ball, his samba celebration. What a lad. It's no wonder so many players today mention Dinho as the icon they grew up watching. He absolutely defined a generation of football.

For his brother retiring professional soccer so he can guide Ronaldinho, he really messed up in Barca for not putting him in check for what he was doing and he should've been his role model instead of a teammate that comes to practice drunk. For real, football may be the only way out of poverty for many children in Brazil. When you don't understand much about how to handle money (the first thing they did was to buy a house with a pool, and to have a pool in Brazil is expensive as fuck, people installed pools to increase property value by a lot, in the 90s it was absurdly expensive), and every rich person that you know is involved in white collar crimes and gets away with it, it's easy to get involved, but Ronaldinho is too big to get away with it.

It didn't work out so he sent him back to Gremio...then managed to have him signed at PSG...despite Gremio's will to keep him...

Ronaldinho gave the number 10 another meaning, he alone was enough to make a team goes from 6th place to winning 2 league titles in a row and a team winning UCL title after 13 years, titles isn't enough to express how good and what huge impact he made in football. I'm sure he made millions of kids love football, he alone increases the popularity of the game and was the most entertaining player in the history imo, he entertains AND wins, wich is one of the hardest thing in football. I miss him a lot and most Barca fans are fans because of this one golden magician. ua-cam.com/video/7kEYOXT4fjw/v-deo.html

It pains me to see videos like this about him. Someone who has brought so much joy to so many hearts. Footballers break to the limelight at the age where the rest of us are busy with books learning all the essentials that help us choose a career path that we will pursue in college/university and most of them especially the earlier generation were not drafted to juggle between the two. They simply had football and this obviously took a toll on them when their career finally flourished. Ronaldinho was just one of the best attacking midfielders ever on planet earth: his ball control, dribbling skills, and passes to the right with his left leg while looking towards the left are unmatched and will never be matched. A legend is only one and once. He made me love football more and it was a complete joy watch him play because anytime he was on the pitch, he could do magic with the ball. I just hope he is not broke. The state should pardon him for whatever wrong he did unknowingly because he is state icon. 2:00, a bit of context.
Campeonato Gaúcho is the football tournament in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. Grêmio and Internacional have one of the biggest rivalries in the country. The Brazil championship only started to be played in a Round-robin tournament format in 2003, before that the first semester was reserved for the state championships, which at the time were almost as important as the national championship.

I am from Porto Alegre, his hometown, and we are about the same age. I remember seeing him play in his teens, the other side (which includes one of the most savage city derbies in the world, the GRENAL), was absolutely terrified. Being a supporter of his youth club, Gremio, I was delighted to see him play, and everybody wondered when he would debut in the pros. He was truly one of a kind. But also aloof, out of touch, and after 2010, pretty much disengaged from the game, with the exception of the seasons he spent with Atletico Mineiro. What a shame.

I always say look at the size of ronaldinho's thigh's thickness as his barometer of greatness. It's weird but not really lol. When he was younger his thighs were thin but that's normal for a youngster, them they grew and he was shredding everyone like no one before him. He was moving at speeds with the ball that did not make sense. Then he just started losing muscle and that was it unfortunately.
