- The "First Lady of Las Vegas" in concert. Lola was the Queen of Vegas. Her beauty, talent and personality thrilled all who saw her perform live. Here's Miss Falana's Las Vegas show from 1981, proving what a dynamic entertainer she was. Thanks Lola for all the joy you gave.

Just finished watching this performance. I am amazed by the endless energy of Lola, she is missed. I wish I could have the pleasure of meeting you. Wishing you well. God bless and thanks for giving so much to us .
I wonder who could play her today ? Her story definitely needs to be told WHILE she is with us and can have a say !!

That was hard work. She was amazing!
When my aunt and uncle first got cable TV waaayyyy back in the early 80's, they invited the whole family over to check it out (cable was a big deal back then), and as my aunt flipped through all 20 different channels (which TOTALLY amazed us), when she landed on Showtime, THIS concert is what was playing.
Needless to say, this brings back some really beautiful memories.
When I lived in Las Vegas, a woman walked into my office, and I thought she was unbelievably beautiful. If you've heard of the "It" girl, she had "It"! She turned out to be Lola Falana. This was in 1991, so she was still pretty young. She was driving a little red Mercedes coupe. Trust me - videos and photos don't do her justice. She was much more gorgeous in person!

Lola Falana was fabulous. I think my sister and I were at the front center table at this concert in Vegas Trying to spot us in the audience.

She was always on Carson, Merv, and Mike Douglas. Al over T.V. in mid-late 70s early 80s. I wish there was more footage of her on youtube. Talented lady, someone should do a documentary on her.

Hey Corey. I gather you made a VHS copy of the show. That was filled with memories. I posted the UA-cam you posted on my company FB site and got ahold of as many of the musicians/singers that are on FB that were in the show. Thank you again for posting. As far as a DVD copy that would be great.

I saw Lola in 1979 - she was wonderful! What a talented and gorgeous lady! Look at the guy at the stage with the white hair at 3:08. He looks like he is being "bothered "as Lola is bending down to greet the audience next to him... What a jerk...

Who was the choreographer, who were the dancers?
Lola did what NO other female can do in performing on stage, tv or any other medium. She had CLASS. She did not sacrifice any of that to get people to see her perform. Despite what she did in her numbers that resembled Josephine Baker. Unfortunately, Beyonce, Mariah, J. Lo. and Brittany Spears do not come close. They throw class away to get the tickets sold. Jennifer Lopez comes close, but still lacks class. I wonder if they even know who she is.
I think Beyonce is much better than her. Beyonce can sing much better than she can but Lola was a lady of her time. Lola in today's time wouldn't sell one ticket. Just like Beyonce would be too bold for Lola's time.

That's right girl be yourself and be for real I remember a time when I used to see women with big boobs and big hips I always wanted to be built up like an hour glad so my mom took me to Fredricks of Hollywood and I went in there and tried on one of those girdles with the paded hips I didn't like the darn on me I accidentally tore one of the pads trying to put the pad back in the girdle.
