Mate your a legend, my 8kg SW8043 model for some reason did not want to spin, i did the diagnostic mode on her and now she is spinning, thank you i was just about to ring a service agent to take her and go through it to work out what's wrong with her, it did have a E40 code and now it all good. :)
Mate, absolute ripper of a video. Thanks heaps. Had an E20 (no water in drum) that has done my head in. After multiple unsuccessful trials to check and clean drain hose and dismentling the pump, i came across this video while trying to figure out the water level sensor details. It was just a matter of recalibration as per one of your previous comments. Love your work.. subscribed, liked and shared with all my contacts. Legendary stuff.
Brother, thanks so much for this. I was just stuck in E50. And then figured out why the towels at the bottom of a heavy towel filled load were causing the agitator to get stuck & give up.. unable to overcome the motor's torque. The motor windings were cooked a little, as there was a slight burnt smell around machine. But here's hoping the motor still has 'some' life left. Cheers mate.
Hi, Great video and it worked at first and identified that the pump was faulty. I replaced the pump and it worked well for a couple of months. Now it is not working properly again. When I try and do the diagnostics again I get an E23 message and sometimes a ELE message. Is this the PCB faulty ? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Thankyou for your video. I have exactly this model. I also have kids teen to early twenties so they completely disregard any instructions I give them. My son in law is a boiler maker. Any advice on getting the metal shavings out of the machine. You probably have video but I'm a bit challenged.. how do I empty the bottom filter on the simpson top loader? I also can't figure how to check under the agitator for bobby pins stray socks etc. I am mother to six so no one listens. I find money, pens, screws, chalk, etcetera. Thank God the Simpson is as sturdy as it is.
Can you please tell me how to turn the lock off? I do know holding down the lock turns it off after 3 seconds but that shows a different lock icon, there are 2. What I mean is when I say fill my machine, turn it on, it starts but I realise I forgot to add something. It’s too late, I can’t open it no matter what I do. I need to wait until the wash cycle and by then I’ve forgot to go back and add it. I hate this it drives me mad
If you press and hold the start button for 3-5 seconds it should pause the cycle and open the lid. then you can press the start button and it should continue from where it was paused. One of the other lock lights might be a child lock. try to get a user manual and have a look how to turn the child lock off, i'm not too sure of the child lock feature on these machines, as a technician never had to use it.
Hi there, what a fantastic video you made and simple straight to the point instructions for the diagnostics testing procedure. I have a Simpson Top Loader SWT9043 9KG machine. It is 13 months old and was doing a normal wash last night. We had a power failure in the house for about 10 minutes and when power was restored the washing machine did not finish its cycle as normal. The timer display went all the way down to 1 minute and the machine stayed in that mode until it was switched off. The lid is locked so I cant see inside. I tried your diagnostics mode but it won't allow me to enter that mode. Any ideas? Thank you.
Hey, Try to unplug the machine for a few minutes. If lid still not open, try to put it through a drain/spin cycle and see if it opens at the end of the cycle. If it still doesn’t open, call Simpson. Your machine should still be under warranty, they come with 2 years warranty. The only other way to open the lid is to take the top plastic frame and manually manipulate the lid lock to open the lid.
hi great video I fix appliances and this has helped me out alot I have 2 of these at my shop the show the E20/E21 error so drains the water but won't spin I just got one of my machines spinning havnt tried the other yet my question is what causes this error to come up as if I sell this machine I'd like to know why the error code came up
Hello, I have a question about washing machine. My Simpson SWT 5541 5.5kg washing machine has the following fault. After turning on the machine, everything is fine when the lid is open. However, when the lid is closed, the display and lights start flashing and there is a "di di" beeping sound. What is this and how can I fix it? I'm not sure if it's a problem with the closing sensor.

Hello, I have a Simpson 9kg model SWT9043. The key feature continuously goes on/off the screen, which then shows E50. Any advise on how to remove the key feature ?
Is it normal for a simpson top load washing machine to constantly start and stop filling water at beginning of program for a couple of minutes, it doesnt seem normal to me, and now a couple months later its has caused wear and tear on the plumbling pipe work as it bangs loudly everytime the washing machine starts its program now.
Hello there. If I may ask a question please, we have a E50 error on our SWT1043 machine, which could mean a balance problem with the clothes, but unfortunately the lid won't unlock for us to check it out? Is there anything that we can do to manually unlock the lid? We tried the spin dial, it drains the water for about 10 seconds and then stops. I am at a bit of a loss? Thank you if you can help.
Hi I bought new Simpson machine the same as yours but I am not happy the hammering noise it makes, is there anything to stop that otherwise it drives me crazy I feel like it's going to brake all the pipes in the house, please help
Hi, you can buy a special water hammer arrestor from the hardware shop that screws onto the tap and then the washing machine hose screws onto the hammer arrestor
Bro excellent and straight to the point video. I need a little help here. My Model is Simpson Sw8043. The problem is this, after loading in water and clothes, activating washing doesn't work, however, there'll be sounds coming up inside. No error codes just that. Spin dry is ok. Just the washing part, it doesn't wash. Can you help?
Hi. I have a EC6 code. Gone thru like your video and cleared it but it still comes up with this code. The machine starts and fills with water then once starting the cycle it gets so far and then throws the towels too one side and throws it out of balance. Any ideas. I’m stumped lol
Hey mate I have a very important question.when our washing machine is washing the paw clutch maybe stuck on the bottom cog so it spins when it washes fine but has an irritating noise because the paw is sliding on the cog.why wouldn’t this be disengaging away from the cog? I noticed a motor with like a brake looking cable maybe this cable should be pulling the paw clutch away?
Hey Mate, The clutch paw should be engaged for agitation and it gets pulled away for spinning. Check that the white clutch paw hasn’t cracked, it will need to be taken out to inspect for cracks, when they crack it starts to jump teeth on the pulley. Also Check that the motor releases the clutch paw all the way. Most common is a cracked paw, then rarely the motor and ever more rarely the gearbox it self.
@@ApplianceFault mannnn thanks for the reply you know what I took that clutch paw off and it did have a crack in it on one of the joins where it curves.I thought I may have broken this when I took it off maybe this is the problem.because it agitates one way then when it agitates the other way it makes that running noise on the teeth
Hi. We have this Simpson SWT1043 top loader. It has a lid lock. Do you know how to trick the machine to thinking it is locked? What can you put inside the slot to make the machine think the lid is closed? We want to see how the machine operates but as soon as you open the lid the cycle pauses.
Hi, No special tool for this type of thing. Could cut something out of a piece of wood that looks like the hook on the lid. Just be careful if you have kids. It’s dangerous to run the machine with the lid open, during the spin cycle it can cause severe injury if some one sticks their hand into the drum. This should be only used for testing/diagnostics purposes.
Cheers for the uploading this video my guy it’s been a great help 😁👍. I was wondering if you could offer some advice on an issue I’m having with my Simpson SWT1043 (the same washer as in the video) ? The washers locking mechanism for the lid has started disengaging when the washer is in the washing/agitation part of a cycle so the lid can be opened without pausing the cycle first. It’s weird, the lock works fine because it engages like normal when filling/draining, then unlocks while washing & then locks again when spinning… it’s weird… any assistance with solving this would be a great help greatly appreciated
Hey mate not sure if you can help. E20 error, pump is not blocked as it does drain (and I checked it) but then when it goes to spin quickly (in a spin cycle) it stops and I get e20. I tried the recalibration c90 and this didn't fix either? Any ideas?
Good to hear of a good outcome. I’ve seen a few of these machines that just needed recalibration of the water level sensor. The machine was thinking it’s still full of water and coming up with E20 when it’s actually empty and wouldn’t go through the spin cycle.
Have top loading simpson 8 kg same top as in your video above have tried the diagnostic mode but still showing LD lid is closed have had it switched off for 2 days on and off now still shows LD when try to do a wash in any mode I usually use cold wash on low takes 58 minutes. Any suggestions?
Sounds like it could be the main PCB at fault. On these machines sometimes the relay that locks the lock gets stuck and keeps the lid lock locked. Unplug the power from the machine, open the control panel and gently tap on the relays on the main PCB. This usually helps. If it keeps happening, the main PCB would need replacing. Very rarely it can be the lock it self that gets stuck.

Easiest way to tell if it’s suspension kit, press down on the agitation in the middle and if you can bounce the drum up and down easy that will indicate a failed suspension.

Unfortunately washing machines can’t be reset. Only thing you can try is to unplug it from power point for about 10 min. If a washing machine is playing up the cause of the problem needs to be fixed before it can function properly.
We have tried simultaneously pressing wash and spin for 3 seconds, and the lock symbol for 3 seconds, switch on and off, u plugging from wall, no help 😩😩
Need a 10mm socket and a extension long enough to reach. Running a few hot cycles really helps cleaning under the agitator if you can’t get a extension.
Most likely the water level sensor needs to be recalibrated. In the diagnostics mode turn the dial to position 10, the screen should say C90. And let the calibration test run until it stops. It takes between 30 seconds to 3-4 min. If recalibration doesn’t help, it could also be a blocked pressure tube or faulty pressure sensor.
