wow... I'm using D3200 and was thinking of upgrading the camera and now that I have seen this video I know its not the camera that needs upgrading..lol... nice work... subscribed
here are some tips.crank down the sharpness to 0.use 24 frames.use 1/50 shutter speed(1/48 is best, but d3200 does not support 1/48) use letterboxing in post(black bars at top and bottom).use manual mode and set iso to the lowest to reduce grain and adjust aperature accordingly, if too bright.crank up contrast a bit in post and use a nice color filter.
This may be the one thing I've ever seen that makes me proud of being from Boston. I was recently in many of the locations in the North End this weekend. The way you caught the atmosphere here was pretty much spot on. Keep it up!
Great short film. I was looking for examples of what my D3200 can accomplish with video. Good job with varying the shots and angles. I've been to Boston and this reflects what it is like wandering through the city.
The Shanell Complex haha nope.. this camera is great affordble option for photography, not for video. Canon is better for video. (I have the D3200 so I know)
Any version that has dual pixel AF. The autofocus is the main issue here in that it doesn't operate smoothly as a camcorder would. Canon's dual pixel AF supposedly improves autofocus exponentially. I'd say look into it!
This "Cinematic Look" that makes the video looks like a music video, (i dont know how to explain haha, anyway,) this effect is made by the Lens or by the after effects plugins? i'm thinking about to buy this camera, but i dont know if will be necessary to change the Lens, can you please answer me? Thanks for the video, looks great! Greetings from Brazil.
Dang I have a nikon d3200 as well.. and this video got me super pumped and made me believe I CAN get good footage with an older camera, thank you, what lense did you use for this?
NIIGHT you truly deserve the recognition that this video got. Also I was told to comment because I read the description and watched the entire video. You are an amazing example of what it means to be a content creator. Keep up the good work. Truly looking forward to what's next from you bro.
Beautiful shot! I have a Nikon d3200 as well. I use a 50mm lens and I want to achieve this. What kind of lens do you use? And any tips to get this good of a look?
Absolutely amazing stuff. I use the 3300 and I didn't know I could get it to look this good. You're definitely on my list of youtubers to take some inspiration from! Great stuff man!
Wow this is inspiring. I've been using this camera for a year and have been saving for a new one, but this makes me realize that I can make incredible videos even with a camera of this quality. Thx dude.
Woah this is amazing - I just bought this camera and I am looking forward to producing pieces like this. It's so captivating! The music really adds to the mood as well. Well done. :)
You create amazing stuff with a kit lens. That's amazing. I will be completely honest and say I didn't feel like my quality with the D3200 was great until I got a prime lens with a wide open aperture but seeing what you have been able to pull off with a kit lens is inspiring.
AMAZING!!! I love the way this was filmed. If you don't mind me asking, what filter did you use for this video? Of what setting did u use to achieve it
You are a complete inspiration for everyone out there who thinks you need a whole production to create beautiful things ( i include myself). Congratulations! 🎈
your work is amazing mate. really impressed and keep up the good work :) I love the colors on your video. Any specific tutorial you recommend for color grading?
Hey, I came across your videos and I just want to say good job! They are very impressive. You honestly influenced you. I am a aspiring filmmaker but I don't own a camera. I read a lot but I don't get as much hands on experience as I want too. My sister who is a makeup artist owns a Nikon D3200 but i never showed as much interest to use it. I recently decided I would start prat icing with it because I need to use a camera but your videos just influenced me more! Of course the camera still makes a difference but at the end of the day it still depends on the user. My dream camera is the Panasonic GH4, and its use to bother me that financially I couldn't get it but watching this video just put a smile on my face. Im now going to practice with the D3200 everyday. And improve as a photographer and filmmaker. Sorry for the long post but I just really want to say thank you!
Nice video, stunning image quality for this cameras price. Never seen video taken with a D3200, but I didn't expect it to be that good! I assume this was filmed in 60 or 50fps. Does the D3200 support such framerates in 1080p or were the videos taken in 720p? And also: What rig were you using? Because for handheld filming it looked too smooth.^^
NIIGHT I am about to buy my first own too. Thinking about the EOS700D, the sony a6000 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000EG. My father has a 6D, so I can easily use most of his lenses with a 700D, the Sony is very compact and provides 60fps 1080p and the Panasonic has 4K. Also the 700D is the cheapest. It's so hard to decide! D:
Daxter I can only recommend the 700D. A friend got one and it's just great. If you want to be a little cheaper, you can buy the 600D as well. Got it myself and I'm pretty happy with it! :)
NIIGHT, Your footage of Boston looks terrific! Great job with the color grading! I am also using the D3200 to shoot video, and had a question about shooting in low light. It looks as if some of the areas you were filming were in fact, low light, but your video quality was still terrific. I have trouble where when shooting in low light, the dark areas flicker and pulsate between different shades of yellow and white. I don't know if you ever had this issue, but if you did, it would be helpful to know how you solved the issue(what camera settings did you use for those situations?). Thank you, Richard
@@JuanCarlosMH It depends on what you select : NTSC (30p) or PAL(24/25p) for FullHD, and of course it can do 60p with HD but i'm not pretty sure if this video was shoot on HD and then scaled to FullHD. It's looks so smooth so i guess it was shoot at FullHD.
Never owned any HDSLR. I'm thinking of giving this a try. Any thoughts or insights you can share? I'd really appreciate it. What I'm really asking is, would you recommend this to newbies like me?

had to come back and find this channel. still my favorite.
The atmosphere this video gives is uncommon now-a-days on youtube. This is vimeo worthy.
I really like when editors do this kind of stuff. Amazing job, and fantastic song choice!
Love this! Reminds me of the summer adventures I have in Boston all the time! 😍

Can you save your colorcorrection as a lut, so everyone can just download the lut and apply it on his one footage. (I would even pay for a lut)
Luk123 yes they actually use LUTS i found the "hollywood look" LUTS for videos here sellfy.com/videoluts
Please the name of this song
Hello men what lens did you use for that video? it looks awesome.
Amazing video .i like this video a lot ,very cinematic. You are a pro .This video looks as if it was shot on a red one. What picture style did you use?

Daxter look up for the sony rx100. I'll maybe buy it
The rx 100 III is nice. But it's so expensive. And you don't have much freedom in terms of focal length since it's a compact camera.
Daxter I can only recommend the 700D. A friend got one and it's just great. If you want to be a little cheaper, you can buy the 600D as well. Got it myself and I'm pretty happy with it! :)
But being locked to 30fps at 1080p when other Companies offer up to 120 at a similar price is such a shame. :/
Your videos are always smooth and have great flow. Keep up the great work man!!!
Cam you make a tutorial for the color correcting?
+Tomskeh seriously his color grading is phenomenal
looks like an orange and teal Lut. or try use Sekonda Lut.
it's was pretty cool! what music did u use?
please color grading tutorial

Another amazing video, but where do you find all your tiny clips of speeches for your shorts?
Umm what do you call these types of videos? They're so beautiful. I wanted to make one if ever I get to travel somewhere. Really nice
cool video!😄😄😄😃 What aplication do you use for editting the video? The camera has got slow camera?😅
super enjoyable, glad you live near my home town and record everything and make it more beautiful than it really is! :)
How do you record video like this, do you edit it and what effects do you use and what software. thanks
Nikon D3200 :) My first camera and only a year with it and totally don't regret it. Spectacular video! Makes me want to try out vidography a little.
very nice Video... which app you are using? my windows media player gets crashed while processing hd Videos, so i have to save it in lower resolution.
For the slow motion shots, do you shoot at 720p60 and then stretch to 1080p30 ?
i love coming back to watch your videos again
Is amazing, this work makes me clear that it does not take an expensive camera to do a fine job!!! I'm your fan from "Chile" xD

Thanks a lot for the tip, NIIGHT! What shutter speed do you usually have to run in those low light situations? Do you stick with 1/50?
How'd you get the slow shots without it looking choppy? What frame rate were you recording at
This is beautiful. Oh my god I can't wait to get this camera!
Omg I want it too , I'm making beauty videos and I'm just still so confused on wat to get. I want to look like a glowing goddess in my videos
colour grading and the feel of the video alongside the music was all very well matched! loved it keep making great content!

Amazing video and editing! What editing software do you use?
damn! what type of color grading do you use?
If we make continuous video (1080) how much will the battery last?
Do you use stabilizer? Because I'm starting to record videos with my Nikon D3200 and the image trembles a lot
+NIIGHT Would you mind sharing the font you use in your thumbnails? It's exactly what I've been looking for
Hey NIIGHT, can you please tell me if you use magic bullet looks and film convert for this video as well???
I notice your film is in slow motion, did you just shoot at a higher Frame rate like 60 and slow motion the video down? Or shot at a low frame rate
Nikon D3200 can only 25p.
@@ekon01cz it can do 1080 at 30p and 720 at 60p
