You have a really thick Southern accent, but it's cute. LOL! My Vietnamese vocab is very limited so I don't speak it, but I do understand pretty well. Although I recall one time some guy said I had a really nice tone/accent when I do speak it (Bac or Northern accent). Which is in contrast to the fact that the foods and such I eat is influenced by the South. Probably because my parents are from the North but we lived in Laos, where I was born. My clan in Laos spoke with the Northern accent, I guess. Hahaha!

I also believe mint really finishes the bun thit nuong types of dishes, just as basil is needed for the pho. But one thing you didn't add was chopped fresh roasted peanuts to your bun thit nuong! That adds amazing flavor and crunch! I always overload mine with it. :)

Of course, all the spending adds up, so I want to try my best this semester to make more unique lunches to save money. Since I'm still in highschool and of course my mom won't pick up different weird foods for me whenever I ask, so I mostly have to scavenge our American pantry for foods to fill these with. I made one with brown rice, lettuce, brocoli florets, sweet potato with honey sauce and a sliced boiled egg. It was pretty good! 😋 Thanks so much for all your awesome inspiration!

The oiled onions and mint is absolutely needed in bun. Tossing the noodles in oiled onions also keeps them from getting hard and dried out in the fridge when ur prepping days ahead. I also love perilla, but it doesn’t last very long before I can use it all up.

Hey Dzung - Thanks for creating such awesome content so consistently. Your videos are so professional and I know how much hard work goes into that!
I wanted to share about some low carb noodles, since you used zoodles in a previous video. Are you familiar with konjac noodles? They are actually net zero carbs and are made from a root plant. I really enjoy cooking with them for my more Asian inspired noodle dishes because they have such a similar texture and flavor to other types of noodles. I love zoodles too, but more for Italian inspired dishes.
Anyway, I thought I'd share. They're pretty easy to find on Amazon, and some Costcos carry them too.

Dear Dzung, great video as always! I really love that you explained clearly how to prepare the rice paper: a quick dip into water. As a native Vietnamese, I always cringe when I watch UA-cam homecooks soak rice paper into water and leave it in there for seconds. That is how rice paper turn into mush and make it harder to roll. Anyway, thank you very much for introducing Vietnamese cuisine to the world. Please make more videos about Vietnamese dish.
Btw, I think the dipping sauce in the spring roll dish is called: Nước chấm đậu phộng or just simply Nước chấm gỏi cuốn
    ~ from Vietnam with love.

That fish sauce story remind me of a similar experience. A few summers ago, I bought several large glass bottles of juice from whole foods. As I was walking home, I accidentally dropped one of the paper bags and lifted it back up. Mid way home, I realized one of the glass bottles cracked and I was leaving a trail of juice 🙈.

Dzung, these look amazing!!! I was just wondering if I can use that marinade on shrimp? If so, how long should I marinate it for? I was going to try and make it tonight for Vday with some Garlic Fried Rice!
