That fact they don’t kill him, denying him an ending he wants and has been manipulating them into is the best ending for chuck. Leaving him to scream and cry, begging them to wait 4:32 like he made the humans felt when he started erasing them that was the greatest way to get back at chuck leaving him alone and to be forgotten no story no audience no bookend of his choice.

Ikr oh guys is it only me or isn't it soo cool and nice when the boys turned the table upside like it felt like they where allowing chuck to think that his winning but then the boys made taught him a lesson " never underestimate ur enemies but most importantly never underestimate us no matter what u are, devil, angel, death, archangel or even a God if u mess with us ur gone even tho we are humans we can still beat ur ass" and they actually beat his ass by making him mortal and powerless.
I like how after Jack absorbed God's power, he speaks in a more "Godly" tone. He speaks with a certain confidence and assurance that cannot be denounced.

It's foreboding.
Even before he left I was thinking Jack won't be "Jack" ever again. Once they explained Chuck's level of omniscience, I knew Jack, a good kid, wouldn't be able to ignore the world. Sam gets it too when Jack's about to leave - he couldn't ignore it all either. It's sad, but you can feel the transition immediately in his voice, in his tone, even in his posture when he's taking God's power.
Jack's on a different road, driving a different car, and he has to go it alone. Even though he brings Cas back and he'll get help - Jack's going to work at a bigger job than any of them are qualified for.
Not even Jack. You can see that weight on him immediately.

And I think Dean finally believes it because before Cass died, he told Dean, "I know how you see yourself, Dean. You see yourself the same way our enemies see you. And everyone who knows you sees it. Everything you have ever done, the good and the bad, you have done for love. You raised your little brother for love. You fought for this whole world for love. That is who you are. You're the most caring man on Earth. You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know." I think Castiel's words really affected him.

Remember Demon!Dean's line about not killing someone not always being a mercy? That was this. And really, it was never about killing Chuck. It was about gaining freedom. They pretty much showed that Chuck didn't matter.
He is still a primordial entity but powerless and mortal in stuck in human form.
Thats what I always say dude. Remember when they tried to exorcise demons instead of killing them AND the human? When they said that killing isn't always the answer. If there is another way, they should go for it. And beside that, Sam&dean went to way more then just the little smacks from Chuck. Broken arm/leg? They went through way worse shit than just that. Like you said, Death isn't always the worst thing that can happen.
So in many ways it makes sense that they don't kill him. And I'm very happy with this ending. Being a thing that lives since billions of years, knowing and seen everything, having the ultimate power and then changing to a human. Becoming mortal and powerless. And he's not the youngest anymore. No one knows him, no one will believe him even if he tries. Having health or other human issues. Losing people you just found. Or feeling lonely. This is rough and I kinda feel bad for Chuck, but when I think of what he does and would still do. It's pretty deserved.
And I would be even more scared before death. Purgatory? Hell? What's gonna happen with his eternity? Empty? Dreaming the same things over and over again, all the things where you felt really bad and scared? Getting murdered over and over again in the Purgatory? Getting tormented in the hell?
Sucks to be Chuck these days.

Chuck's snap of his fingers was dull, unwilling, unworthy while Jack's was bold, bright, and overall worthy. That's what I like about this ending because it shows that Jack has fulfilled his purpose

I think you're all missing the most important point. Jack is God now, yes. But he also still has a human soul. Think about that. God with a soul; thats the kind of thing Chuck lacked all this time.
Yes! He learned empathy, compassion, even humor. All qualities Chuck lacked.

Perhaps Chuck will get his own human arc in a Supernatural Spin-off, like Castiel and Lucifer did. If so, maybe he'll change for the better, and someday regain his all mighty powers, somehow, and be a better person for it? Could happen, especially if Supernatural ever sees a revival or future movies, or some other kind of projects. Hell, maybe Chuck will be a victim at some point that the boys will have to help because he's being haunted by one of his creations. Leaving Chuck alive actually in a way keeps the series alive, but allows it to go dormant to allow the actors and crew time to explore different avenues and opportunities.

He’s more upset about the fact he’s an obscure footnote now than he was about the fact he was about to be killed. He didn’t even tell them to stop them, he only wanted to know what would happen next. His priorities and how he thinks are just a mess

Someone posted an interesting theory a while back, where when Cas and Kelly get a vision while their eyes glow the same color that Jack's do when he later uses his power, Cas said he saw a peaceful world and a happy ending essentially. The theory is that what we saw here is what Cas saw in his vision. Everyone happy and no puppet master.

Chuck was probably much weaker than the average person, he just had a large safety net in the form of his powers. You can see it when he talks to his sister about wiping the world clean and starting again. He wanted to reset everything, just hoping he’d feel better if he did. He’s not strong enough to face reality so he wants to make a new reality. It’s quite pitiful, and the fact he was so strong while like that is almost insulting. Now, I doubt he’ll even be able to live as a person. I’d give him less than 10 years before he runs his body into the ground, annoys someone to the point of killing him, or does the deed himself

Dean telling Cass that he's coming for God, next at the end of Swan Song, and here we have it, 10 years later, helping the transition of power to a new generation with a soul. I liked that ending.

I think this is the perfect ending for Chuck. Reminds me of the book ending of Voldermort. He just falls and dies like a casual wizard. No special ending, no unique death. He just falls to the floor, dead. And supernaturals god, who has grown to love being special... becomes nothing special, not even his death will be special.

I was very satisfied with Jack’s ending. He truly deserved it after all he’s been through.

I noticed how Chuck doesn't apologize even once when they are about to leave him. After everything he's done, even after becoming mortal, he still have no regrets whatsoever. He thought he'd get his way even in death when he expected Sam and Dean would kill him there and now.

It makes his sacrifice seem more human and more meaningful. To me the real issue is that they left Chuck's Death book there. That is something they should keep just in case, even if they decide not to kill him. The Winchesters should know though that from the Styne family to Rowena and Crowley literally ruling Hell, that is possible for a regular human to become incredibly powerful. Chuck would have a huge leg up in knowledge about magic and the supernatural than any other witch
He is a normal human being, right? A normal human being's memory has limitations.
And even if not? What he does know is how it works. So, when he dies, he will either simply be gone (if he has no sooul) or be treated by the rules and the rules say that the bad guys go to hell. The place where so many hate him. So, no matter what he remembers, he better be a good boy and keep his head down.
Oh and he better hopes none of those that can loop time let's him die again and again and again...

Even tho Rob Benedict "chuck" was the villain here in this story, I still shed a tear at this scene, no one wants to die sick, alone and unmissed, but honestly this was the best end choice u can offer chuck, living a plain old boring human life with failed ideas wright where he started, In the beginning as an author, not a bad ending for his demise really... considering all the hell he put sam dean and everone threw.
Yeah and you know what? The first time I watched I was *completely* satisfied knowing after all he has done he got exactly what he deserved. But now after seeing it again my indefinite morality and compassion just started to yet again kick in as it always does makes me feel sorry and sympathetic for those who are just so broken and constantly alone. I just can’t help that no matter what happens and how bad that someone has willingly become I just can’t stand seeing an individual just completely sad and broken like that.
Here's the thing. They don't have the power to curse him, only to leave him without a ride back to town. His ending is still up to him. When they said he would die old and alone, forgotten, they were making a prediction based on what they know of him. He CAN change--but he won't.

Jack is a great god cause he literally gives actual freedom, chuck can change if he wants, his fate isn’t sealed in anyway except by his own hands, that’s freedom...but Chuck will never change on his own, he’ll never take charge of himself or his life and wi remain petty and insecure

This reminds me of Lindsey dying in the series finale of "Angel." He'd been part of the big bad for so long and felt like so important, but then he was just killed easily by the team's non-warrior, and unceremoniously left to die.
That is poetic justice
We spent 11 seasons loving, laughing at, laughing with and wondering about Chuck. And in the final season, he's the character everyone hates for good reason and then sees gets beaten in a fitting way. That kind of roller coaster relationship with a character is why this show WAS FREAKIN AWESOME!

@@Reader999 not sure he could....I think OG Death was on a primordial level as Chuck, Amara, and the Empty. Each represented a primordial force. Chuck was creation. Amara was destruction. The Empty was what existed before creation and currently outside of it. OG Death was the end of everything or death. When Death died his role was passed down to his next subordinate under him, but he himself was different than the reapers. I think it is true when he said he and Chuck didn't know who was older. Probably because they both always existed.

Yeah the first time I watched I was *completley* satisfied knowing after all he has done he got exactly what he deserved. But now after seeing it again my indefinite morality and compassion just started to yet again kick in as it always does makes me feel sorry and sympathetic for those who are just so broken and constantly alone. I just can’t help that no matter what happens and how bad that someone has willingly become I just can’t stand seeing an individual just completely sad and broken like that.

The best part of this ending, it's because Chuck is now mortal, he is not going to the empty when he eventually dies and Rowena will be waiting for him in Hell.

I think it's possibleChuck planned for Jack to take his powers this way and was acting along, but he genuinely didn't expect Sam and Dean to leave him alive and mortal.
Chuck had always be ten steps ahead and is all seeing but even he didn't see this coming and now after all the shit he's pulled on sam, dean, john and mary humanity, jack his own grandson, his heavenly sons and daughters, and even his own sister now he gets to know what it's like to have problems and for no one to care this really is the best ending for him
It’s kind of brilliant actually. God is such an ego maniac that leaving him alone and forgotten for the rest of his days is a fate worse than death for him.
Would have been a great time for the original Death to come back and take G's soul, and when asked how he was alive, he just tells them that he was on vacation and left a proxy.
Re-watching this now its a nice detail that chuck stumbles around after losing his powers because he would definitely feel weaker and those are his first steps as a true mortal
