    I’ll be happy when they release a full DVD of this material just laying around and a remixed version of this Revolution of the Mind album with full bass.

    Good people it is great to see these clips but I must tell you...I only wish you all could have been there to witness the staggering power of these shows.
    No lip synch, no auto tune, no fifty dancers...just Mr. Brown and a heart full of SOUL.

    Yes, this recording is taken from one of JB's appearances at the Apollo in July 1971. A little after the original JB's left. However, this is NOT the recording used for the "Revolution of the Mind" album. If u have a good ear, u can hear differences between this and the version on the album. JB was probably at the Apollo for a week doing 2 shows a nite or something. This clip is taken from one of those nites. It's basically same venue, same band, different nite. :)

    This is a perfect example of how his concerts should sound when recorded. This is so much better than the mix on a revolution of the mind, or any of his other live officially release concerts. This is exactly how a live concert should sound, exactly as it sounds when you're there.

    I don't know if I have the complete special so I don't know if I have Hot Pants. This comes from the same tape that's got the Apollo 1973 stuff I uploaded. This is the only part of the documentary on that particular tape, but if I find Hot Pants or the complete special I'll upload it.

    The mix sounds much better than on the record. I don't know why they fuck with the mix so much on live recordings. Hey, do you have the 'Hot Pants' clip from this same show? This was a TV special in 1971 about JB at the Apollo. I remember watching this when it came out.

    Does anyone know if Danny Ray's intro is copyright like if you use it in a youtube video would you get a strike. Love that intro

  • @ishouldwinagrammy
    @ishouldwinagrammy  10 років тому +1

    I'll be back. Copyright strike is stopping me from posting long videos so I'll just have to wait til the strike expires which according to UA-cam could be 6 months or never. I guess we'll see how that turns out. I might just make a second channel and post new shows there but I dunno, I'm not much for that whole multiple channels thing.

    This is NOT 1971...in 1971 the band featured Bootsy and everyone that was one the LIVE AT THE OLYMPIA shows.
    This is 1973...I was blessed and fortunate enough to be at THIS particular show and it is seared into my memory. I was also at the SEX MACHINE/SUPER BAD show (as it was billed in the Daily News.
    On this clip Fred Thomas is on bass and Bootsy and Catfish are gone as is Tiger Martin.

      CARLTON J. SMITH lol no this is 1971. It’s almost exactly like the live version of the song on revolution of the mind. I actually saw this documentary in 1971 there’s a version of “hot pants” on there also that’s basically just like the one from revolution of the mind. Don’t forget in 1973 he had his process back, here he has an Afro.
