      @@SPOOLINUP just wanted to let you know it went super smooth! Only had to undue one side of the rear bar. to drop it down to sneak my full welded exhaust 😅😂 full disclaimer I had to remove the magnaflo muffler with grinder to sneak it through the subframe but had a spare clamp to clamp it back on. 3 studs came out when removing 1 stayed in when taking them off the downpipe/turbo flange but bought all new ones as spare incase one snapped thankfully not. 🤘thanks for making this video I was unsure bc most videos people all have 3 piece exhausts and mine was one whole piece kinda like yours but literally one solid piece downpipe was welded your video gave the insight into how I would tackle it thanks again! Not only was it smooth but it was super smooth, thats what I like to hear man 🤣 I was worried about the studs because the nuts were stiff going on and went tight on the threads but didn't squeeze the flanges together, in the end I had to take it back down and re-do the joint at the flanges with another new gasket. In regards to me making the video man you are more than welcome, I am glad it helped you get it done. Do you have a single exit or dual? I prefer single I think but got my system cheap second hand. Did you notice any power gains?

    • @Plumb5auce
      @Plumb5auce 2 роки тому +1

      @@SPOOLINUP haha yes super smooth! 🤣 I have pretty decent sized washers to go with the studs so it closed the gap when tightening. I double nutted on the studs when I tightened them in. Mine is a dual magnaflow exit. I too prefer the single exit but I got this exhaust cheaper second hand and couldn’t turn it down. As far as horsepower gains I’m running a Unitronic stage 2 tune and making 20lbs of boost having miles of smiles! 😄😄

      Sweet bro!! Sounds like you had it all thought out up at the turbo end with the extra nuts and big washers. Exactly man, if we always paid for what we wanted and didn't compromise for a deal we might be broke 🤣 everyone loves their golf when its mapped so much, I hope they live up to the hype 🤘🏽

    I'm upgrading to the Anniversary Cat Back Exhaust, It's a Jetex 1.8T single pipe. Never fitted an Exhaust might need some help, or I can go the garage....

    • @SPOOLINUP

      If it is cat back then that makes it easier but if its a single piece then as you can see from the video it is not that easy to do on the floor. I cant imagine a garage charging loads of money to fit it.

    Hi mate just wondering. Did you have to cut the back box off and if you did what did u use?

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  2 роки тому +1

      I am not sure if I did cut the back box off in the end because I think there is normally a joint there so I probably just separated it. I did however use an angle grinder for any other cutting I had to do.

      @@SPOOLINUP yeah that’s it.. I took mine off because I thought that it would sound better.. It’s just push in clips so u could always take it off see how it sounds and put it back on if u wanted to.. I bet u will leave it off if u do 🙂

      Yeah thats a good point actually its not a permanent thing so I could give it a try. My engine doesn't sound that good at the minute but once I sort out a few niggles and things it will be much better and of course after mapping.

    Question do you know the exhaust diameter for mk4 golf 2.0L? Thanks

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  3 роки тому

      Hi, I do not know this but I would assume it is 1.5" and I think you should be able to find out on Google especially if you loom for a new standard system it should have the dimensions listed.

      I have a cheap decat so it was hard to get a socket/spanner on the nuts

  • @zabekhurram
    @zabekhurram 4 роки тому

    Bro I hope your well, you said the top 2 bolts were done from the engine bay, what did you use as space is tight there. I thought it can only be tightened from under the car?

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  4 роки тому +1

      I used a small adjustable from on top and the only reason I had to part use this and part use a ratchet from underneath is because the nut was so close to pipe that I couldn't get a socket on once it started to get tight.

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  4 роки тому +1

      Apologies mate I hope you are well too. If you can do it from underneath then you are all good, my decat was unbranded so maybe only I will experience that problem.

      @@SPOOLINUP no need to apologies brother, I managed to sort that out thanks but my decat downpipe is now blowing from the joint with 3 bolts!
      I've tightened it as much as I dare without breaking the bolts and its still leaking from the top.
      Got a feeling mine may not be perfectly flat and I need to use maybe 2 or 3 gaskets at once to make a good seal!
      Hope your having better luck with yours.

    • @SPOOLINUP
      @SPOOLINUP  4 роки тому +1

      Hey man, that flange/connection of my downpipe to decat was already made as it was second hand. You can use a new gasket with some exhaust paste on it mate and that will work wonders for you. I've used the paste on my Golf exhaust and my Fiesta one the other day, ive even used it on my nitro car. Good luck and maybe give that a try 👍🏽
