Knitting always brings me joy. Once the weather starts to get colder, I find that I am even more drawn to hot beverages like coffee and tea. I drink them year round, but they bring so much more comfort and joy when it is cold outside. I also find a lot of joy out of listening to music. I love that you included self care (like using hand creams and eating healthy foods). I need to focus more on those actions and allowing them to be a mindful part of my day instead of just a fleeting moment.
Yes I do enjoy your simple, natural videos. Yours is refreshing without pretensions! Those mushrooms were enormous! Portabellas?? Cost a fortune in my grocery! Thank you for sharing your joys!
Nature brings me joy, especially the ocean. Also books, reading and sharing books, spending time with loved ones, knitting, embroidery, fabric, yarn, colors, walking, hiking, kayaking, ice skating, giving...your videos!
I love that you have walking in the forest as one of the things you love to do. That is one of the things that I try and do to help me feel calm and recentered if you will. I will slow down and look at all the details in the trees and plants and wildlife like insects and spiders. It's discovering a whole other world to live in for a bit. I also love to be up in the morning with the sunrise, everything is so calm and quiet.
oh yes...I can totally resonate, with the waking up early...I can hear different birds singing at different times...and walking in the forest is so magical, the smell of wet leaves and bark and moss...
What gives me joy? Being creative, knitting, dying my own yarn and fabric, spinning, journalling, eating good food, catching up with friends, smiles on my families faces and long drives to unknown destinations.
Hello Martina Elizabetta, thank you for sharing this beautiful video, I have been following you since your first one and I feel excited when I see that you have a new post because knitting and watching your updates and adventures brings me a lot of joy! ❤❤❤❤
Love this theme. Joy is so important. 💜 Your yarn cabinet might need a few shelves 😊, if you have thick cardboard you could make dividers..? I'm big on reusing boxes but you also might have wood 🪵🪓 😊 in America we call your hair fringe "bangs" 🌺 Hahahaha Meita bombed your camera shot 😂
Yes, indeed, my yarn cabinet does need some shelves but I've kinda been a bit lazy and not prioritizing it so much :/ Thank you for your lovely comment 🌹💐
Joy. I have led a very hard life and my only goal is to fill my life with joy. I have a quiet home on nice piece of land. I found great joy in having a life where I can homeschool my son and teach him everything I didn't have. He is learning so much more than I ever could at his age. We wander through the woods and grow our own food and get to play board games and cards and such. I'm learning more about my spirituality in the ways of my ancestors. I'm learning to reach past the path that my government has set up for us. It's phenomenal. It's amazing to reach inside of myself and see how much is in there that I forgot about. This may be a confusing comment but it makes so much sense to me. There's great joy in just sitting in my yard under the evergreen trees and watching a hawk fly as I'm knitting on a glove. There's so much joy in the fact that I'm learning who I am.
READING THIS COMMENT MADE ME EMOTIONAL. I so thank you for sharing this, it's so heartwarming 🌹🌹I think it makes so much sense, that's the best life a son could ask for and the fact you're looking inward and breaking the boundaries that our society created for us is absolutely brave and amazing! We need more families and people like you! Thank you for all you do, you are part of the Good change 💚
reading is for me the best way to get through grey and dreary patches i also like to learn completely new things about subjects i know absolutely nothing about, usually by chance and coincidence I know nothing about knitting (and i don't remember how i ended up watching videos about knitting) and yet i really think your videos are beautiful and serene. It's really nice to see someone being really enthusiastic and passionate about something the way you are about knitting and all the different yarns you have.
Oh you're a breath of fresh air! So happy you're here. My audience is mainly knitters and while I love it a lot, I also would love to reach people who don't knit necessarily 🤎 Thank you for sharing and being here🤎
Dear Martina, here in Berlin it is foggy, rainy, some snow which doesn’t stick and freezing cold. I sympathize with your bad weather blues! I do pretty much the same to cheer myself: put on candles, make fragrant tea, I love to bake cookies - also just so the house smells cozy - go for walks in the forest with my dog, and, of course, knit! When it all becomes too much, we also put on music in the evening and dance around. I am just about to start my first Felix cardigan 😊 and am starting a sweater No. 9 for my husband, because he loves mine so much and he is always cold here. I have so much knitting I want to do, but too little time…. Also the days are now so short here in Northern Europe that I can only enjoy walks on the weekend. During the week I leave the house and return in complete darkness, so the poor doggy must content himself with walks on the neighborhood streets. Even in the city, we have wild boars which makes it unsafe to walk in the dark! Very exciting 😂. Beautiful nutiden yarn, enjoy that!! Your scarf for Micha is SO beautiful, I’m sure you will bring him joy ❤. Keep your spirits up and your heart light - I send you a hug from Berlin!❤❤
I loved the episode and what brings me joy is definitely my dog. I’m so happy you made a video like this. I have been feeling the holiday blues and spinning has helped bring joy back in my life.
Martina bella, the bangs look super cute on you, actually everything does 🤗 this was a very sweet and mindful video about regrouping, recentering and doing our best to find joy no matter what....and I can relate to lots of things going on...I also really love to dance but have not been doing so in a long while...knitting, crafting, taking time to be in nature, walking in nature, dogs give me great joy, and again at the moment I do not have that sweet company....reading and writing, talking soulfully, exchanging authentic moments, with a dear friend, a glass of red wine, a piece of dark chocolate, bundling up near a fire, being in the sunlight, listening to music, watching an old hollywood movie with lots of great dresses from the olden golden times....take care all 4 of you 💚💚🧶🧶
I try to be present through every moment … I am thankful for each day… winter, summer, autumn, spring. I am happiest in the winter and fall. I am always aware of who and what brought me to this moment in life…in the world. The sacrifices made for me, and the sacrifices I have made for others. It is a privilege to have those choices. I remind myself of those blessings when I am not feeling too, too happy…. As an older woman, who has lived and experienced much, I have the privilege of now be able to look back and chose happiness over sadness, whenever I can. Reality is not that defined, and sometimes, the negatives seem to surface… but reminding myself of my blessings is always how I start my day…… Blessings to you…..
I’m enjoying your podcast so very much! You have inspired me to try knitting myself a bralette. Who knows maybe I’ll stop buying bras and make my own! I found a tutorial online and some very soft sport weight yarn of 100% merino wool in my stash and I just cast it on today. It’s a lovely shade of light gray and very lovely to knit with. I like ve the scarf you are making for your partner and the piece you knitted with Tasha Tudor shawl as inspiration. She is lovely. I love the sweater you were wearing in this video. Thank you for all your ideas and for showing us your beautiful projects and lovely yarns! I love all your musical choices on your videos. Love from Katie in Maine ❤️🙏🧶oh and I always enjoy you puppies! They are so adorable ❤️!
Thank you for your lovely comment, Kate🌼🤎 I think that knitted bralettes are beautiful and useful on every body, however if you want a lot of support I don't think that they're the best. I let my ladies do their thing so I don't need extra support but it's important to say it in case others do🤎
You did it again, another beautiful podcast. Absolutely everything you said is exactly what I would say brings me joy. I love spending time outside and wandering around, looking at animal tracks, plants, trees, etc. cooking wholesome veggie food, making "potions" growing things. I don't know if you have heard of FullyrawKristina on youtube. She has some fantastic raw vegan recipes and thoughts to share. I think you might like her. And thank you for recommending a crafters tale podcast. I'm going to look at it as I knit on this windy cold day.💕
Kia ora,, we are coming onto summer, but tonight its cold so i got my knitting out. Bonnie my Skye terrier x bedlington terrier is sleeping beside my bed all curled up looking like a ball of fluff. my partner is making coffee for us. its 1.24am here in nz. Im going to give sock knitting a go, like your lord of the rings socks. oh here comes the coffee.
Hello Martina! Our interests are so similar, I have followed Tasha Tudor for years...I own so many of her books. She has one called, Take Joy (it's a sweet Children's book about Christmas). I sent you an email, check it out! So glad to connect with you today.

Hi. What gives me joy? Knitting and many other hand crafts, bicycle rides in nature, meeting good friends, and there's so much more!
Those activities are definitely joyful 🤎🌼
Good morning 🌄 it's nice to watch this in the morning. I was just about to make my morning coffee ☕. I'll go make it and watch.🥰
