Dude you absolutely saved my life. I have been trying so hard to look up a tutorial on how to set it up from scratch and every youtuber kept showing me how to use hosts that are hella expensive.

What kills me is the rediculous renewal costs.
Totally counter intuitive for customer retention and loyalty.
I've used half a dozen hosting providers and am tired of bouncing 5 sites at renewal. And now, plugins are 'tainted' towards the fee providers want to charge for uploading anything more than as minimal site. I'm done with 'em.
Local hosting until I figure out AWS Multi-site Lightsail/bitnami (although they also 'support'/(means insist) third party site uploads . Sending me straight back to the
FTP headaches.
Heading towards self hosted NAS and Proxmox or even Plex.
I'm amazed at how much I forget in a year or two!

What error did you have? Everytime i start Mysql on xampp it just randomly stops. Did you have to uninstall everything?

Yes i have the same issue.
Its the second time ive had to uninstall and reinstall xampp.
And it keeps messing up everything on WordPress and takes me to the WordPress instillation page, loosing everything ive done so far.
Not giving up just yet, but still haven't found a solution.
But i was able to sort out the crash temporarily with this fix

So Easy. I've had issues for years, and this was so simple compared to the other solutions I was trying to host a local site with. How would you host multiple local wordpress sites? Creating another folder obviously in htdocs, but what port and how would you assign another port for another local host?

Yes, create another folder. They all use the same port. Just put the folder name at the end of localhost
