RECENTLY I BOUGHT NORMS 1st BASS VI THAT HE RECEIVED FROM FENDER
HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE
Your name is great
Next time you see Norm, ask if he has any Kramers for me 🙏🏻
Love hearing you play at norms
Vintera Series guitars are awesome. Stuff that came out in 1954 could use an upgrade or two 😉
What a smooth instrument...Practically put me into trance...Nice playing, Michael
A versatile instrument for recording, very adaptable for ditto and other effects, all three Beatles played one and used it as lead guitar on several Beatle recording sessions, fender Vintera has made one now affordable and precise. A must have for a collector or serious songwriter.
Wow! You’re doing some killer stuff with that Bass VI, Mike! “Badge” was great! I’ve been considering getting a Squier Bass VI and upgrading the bridge. You make it sound like it’s worth doing, except that bass players would hate me!
Badge is my favourite Cream song! Great playing as per Lemmo!
Mike see you at The Mint Dec 9th! My band Califlwr will be playing there Dec 13th! Everyone come out !
That is so damn cool. I had been looking at the Squier version, but the Fiesta Red is so pretty
Yeah.... the Bass VI is on my list.
Y'all don't make it easy 😊
Truly an instrument that can get the creative juices flowing.
ML wins the Badge of Honor. The instrument really comes alive using the vibrato for rock a billy & surf.
That BASS is BEASST!
Cool, lot of creativity bending those strings
I've got the Squier version myself. For me, it will never be about trying to play guitar on it. Fool's errand or not, I try playing it like a bass "with a tenor extension" in the form of those 2 upper strings.
I will wait to Fender bring more colors for this Vintera Bass VI
It’s really too bad fender chooses not to make these left handed. However, it’s a win for Eastwood- just placed an order for their lefty bass six. Can’t wait for it to be built!!
Very cool Lemmo !!! Thanks Jen !!!
♥ That, is a seriously awesome piece if kit.
Could you get more of a bassy tone by using a bass amp and a bass equalizer, and flatwounds?
That’s like the electric version of the bajo sexto
I had a Squier Vintage Modified one of these, couldn’t really figure out what to use it for… they do look cool though.
People are convinced you're supposed to play it like a guitar or that you can't really play traditional bass parts on it. Contrary to popular opinion, neither of these things is the case. It may not be easy to play regular bass parts on one of these, but it's not impossible. Fingers and all. Most of the 21-track song cycle that I put online called *Brooklyn Bridge* was recorded with my own Vintage Modified Bass Six.
@@ericbgordon1575 yeah, it’s really more like a lower baritone.I know Glenn Campbell used these a lot, and his solo on “Wichita Lineman” is a great example of using that low cut switch.
Sorry, @@joermnyc, but the two are a universe apart
Brilliant, Michael...
Id love to hear Mark Speer get on one of these things.
A fender 6 string bass guitar 🎸 😍
Also a Peter Green instrument.😊
7 months late, but your version of Badge is incredible. It's my favorite Cream song and one of my favorite songs ever, and you did it justice while adding your own elements that make it your own.
Excellent demo. Probably the best I've seen yet.
🎯🎆🎶✨⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️ top drawer demo from ….the 🍋⭕️
Robert Smith used these too, if you get the chance to review on another can you please use a chorus effect? They sound amazing with it!
Just download the audio from this video and insert it into a DAW, you can add a chorus effect. There's plenty of free DAWS and chorus plugins...
Lots of use on Disintergration & Wish.
Hurray for a bit of Depeche Mode!
Players of this bass take note. Its more of a bass than a guitar so, if you are playing in the melody section, it would be to accent or harmonize the melody but, if your strumming chords its going to get muddy. Then there is full on metal so, ,, just use a good bass amp and have fun.
There is a mod for the squire bridge that helps it immensly.
Very cool.
be a great axe for busking! thanks NRG
Thankyou Michael: great DEMO; LEO FENDER -- an American - Iconic ' to have created a dynasty from the future...WOW- MAN to present : the delicacies of these transformed FENDER guitars transcends times--past with-standing variant style and Pricing...God BLESS you MICHAEL ❤ John 3:16 .... Bob Rutkowski 💜🕊️🎸
Considering that the Bass VI has the same low range as traditional four string bass, should I worry about speaker damage when playing it through a guitar amp?
Generally yes, only if you cut everything bellow ~250hz would it not damage your rig. But it would probably defeat the purpose of getting the bass, as your fundament would be gone.
I've learned that the drivers of bass cabs move further, to give you a low end you can feel. Something you won't need from a guitar cab, hence nasty noises from the drivers hitting the enclosure, when they try to go that extra distance that isn't there. Only exception would be full-range speakers.
Unique to the bass VI: it has four switches, three to select pickups(the ones closest to the neck) and the last one to cut the low end.
Long-story-short: if you just want it for recording direct to interface, or playing with headphones you will be fine, but in a band context, where you are supposed to take the bass part, you will need a bass amp and cab.
Still got the ol tagger on it
Song names?
Why no matching headstock?
Want!
🤘🔥
🔥🎸
Just imagine if this had come in aqua both in the body and on the headstock. This comment section would be littered with "DON'T TOUCH IT!"
DON'T EVEN LOOK AT IT!
Hehehehehehe!
Fender Japan reissued the Fender VI in the 90s.
The squire(used) ones sell for $700 less than the MIM in my area. I live next to their corona plant.
To Miggy..
Whats the song name at 06:30?
Depeche Mode ~ It’s no good
👍🏻✌❤😎
Too bad they dont sell a sunburst one 😔
I have the Vintera with P-90’s
Can I borrow it 😉
great video you can hardly hear the instrument 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Looking at the strings, the bridge and neck does not look aligned?
You need glasses...
I agree. There's something weird looking in the upper register of the high E string. Especially at 1:00.
@@MrThelodger Just look how far in the low-E is on the fretboard, and how close the high-E is close to the edge at the heel.
@@lakselv3768
Not to contradict you, but it's the camera angle that's responsible for this and the reduction effect. It's very common in videos.
If it was a '72 I'd say yea alignment is pooched, sloppy neck pocket but not the modern stuff.
What kind of strings are you using @normansrareguitars?
