She talks about Elvis using one for the 1968 comeback special then she plays one of the songs that he did with that guitar on that show. I love her.👍🏻😎
Being a huge Gibson Fan.....from very young around 1974 I was lucky enough to take possession of my Dad's L-5 and I only had it ....maybe a year and 1/2 but it was the start of my love for Gibson guitars ..later in life I worked in Music retail and I was able to work some guitar shows around the Midwest. Gaining knowledge along the way meeting a bunch of fine people and also a chance to play an endless supply of vintage guitars in that time. That Super 400 is quite the gem....I have played a few in my day.....and it was a joy.
Bobby, Bobby, living proof there are still great loving, kind, compassionate, people in the world. Congratulations to both of you and I wish you all the best in life.
Great to be in a position to connect a great instrument with a great artist. A guitar is just a thing without someone playing it. Then it comes to life.
I just saw her play two days ago in a vid with Billy F Gibbons and Kenny Greenburg a Nashville studio guy, they were great together. I had no idea she could play blues like this, she is super talented
Hearing her amazing playing, first thought was I’ll never be that good. And then I recalled the same feeling, pretty much all the time, when I’m doing lessons on TrueFire with some absolute legend, and the material is way over my head; I’m thinking this is where I plateau and just stay there for the rest of my guitar playing life. And then I practice, a lot, every day, and in two weeks it’s simple, even boring. It becomes something I do as I warm up or while noodling. I modify and mess with it until it’s my own. Then I go to the next lesson and it starts all over again with thinking, “This is impossible. I’ll never be able to do that.”
@@barryriddle883Glad you noticed too! My son at age 16 started a Sydney band in 2011 called 5 Seconds of Summer (aka 5SOS) with mates from school (one was only 15). They now live in LA and a couple of them sound more American then actual Americans!! When I hear a forced accent going from bogan type Aussie to complete Yankee it makes me cringe. Thank god my son sounds mostly neutral. He says you have to adopt a part accent to be understood, which Orianthi seems to have done also.
Ori is Dynamite! gotta be my favorite female blues player. This is such a great channel and such great people at NRG! Bobby knows how to get to a womans heart. I can't believe he bought that guitar for her before I could. How can a guy top that? Thats better than diamonds!
Awesome! There's no Guitar in the World like a "Gibson Classic ES400 or any Gibson Guitar, Period, The Gibson Les Paul"! Steve, Man to me the Gibson Classic ES 400 Guitar is the Ultimate of all! Praise God, it's the only Guitar for Jazz or the Early Country & Rock n Roll sound!
Wow. That is one of the coolest guitars on the planet! I saw Robben Ford play one of those with Jimmy Witherspoon at the Ash Grove many, many years ago! I can't wait to hear what Orianthi does with it! Spectacular! Bobby is one rockin' fan! :)
That’s why I play guitar because there are people that are just so good hearted and I like Yep Oriani needs that gutter that Mike Lambo needs a guitar get it for him like it’s a great culture and I’m really privileged to be a part of it …play in great health ORI
Well, that is a novel approach to playing a full hollow body with a rosewood bridge. I was expecting more of a Joe Pass or Wes Montgomery direction. Bravo.
@@PragmaticDany Yes, but certain instruments are geared towards different genres of music. The pointy heady gothic style Jacksons aren't made for country and western. You can make country music using one, though. Hollow body electrics like the Super 400 were designed in the 1940s and 1950s before rock and roll existed. They weren't designed for that genre. They were meant for the musicians of that era, most of whom played jazz. The term "jazz box" is synonymous with those instruments for a reason. Archtops with wooden bridges have the warm tone needed for jazz.
I heard her absolutely SHRED Voodoo Chile on stage. I had the pleasure of driving her to the airport in Vegas several years ago. She didn't say a word to me, but man....it's hard to express just how good she smelled.
*_Ori is a preternaturally gifted guitarist - originally aussie I believe, such a shame she's not better known here, Downunder ...come back & tour awhile Ori - bring that supersized 400 with you!!_*
If she loves Elvis’ ‘68 Comeback, that guitar is in loving hands with her. I hope she’ll explore some 50s Rockabilly styles in the future. She already has the skill.
Norm, also you're an awesome Friend to us all to young musicians, like this young lady! It's wonderful to see a young musicians receive a Dream guitar like this Beautiful Gibson Classic ES400 Guitar is though a Friend of yours, Mr. Norm! Mr. Bobby is a very nice person! Thanks for making many watchers, like myself happy to see that are wonderful people still in this wild world in which we live! Steve! God Bless All!!!
Stuff like that happens to me a lot as a banjo player. Why just last week, I was up in Nashville with my banjo in the car. I forgot it was there when I left the windows down for quick walk down Broadway and beer at Tootsies Orchid Lounge, which is near the old Opry. Anyway, got back later than I expected and realized what I’d done when I saw a crowd gathered near my car with open windows. Cops had lights flashing and looking around, keeping crowd back. Inside.....were 23 banjos, a jug of moonshine, and a photo of Roy Clark picking banjo.
What a gorgeous, glowing piece of craftsmanship that deserves no less than to be in gifted, masterful hands of Orianthi.
Bobby you are a special person to do this to keep musicians Rockin with great instruments my hat is off to you sir ❤️
She's an incredibly skilled artist. This is the perfect place for this beautiful instrument!
She talks about Elvis using one for the 1968 comeback special then she plays one of the songs that he did with that guitar on that show. I love her.👍🏻😎

Pretty cool gift! Good to see cool guitars going to people that can and will actually play them.

That guitar is the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen.
What an amazing gesture, some people are just class acts with kind hearts. She’s gonna make some beautiful music on it I’m sure. It’s a such a beauty.
Some people are so lucky to have a friend like Bobby.
Most of us ain't so lucky.
And some of us don't even have friends..
Oh Jeez Stratostatic...all together everyone..group hug!

A truly spectacular instrument.
Nice pick and Super nice gift.
yep, Elvis '68 Comeback Special was pretty bad ass.
In which Elvis admitted that he never knew more than about three chords. ;)
@@deepspacetheater Yep, sold alot of guitars, tho :)
@@deepspacetheater lol. He said that but he knew alot more than just 3 chords. He was much more than people think. He really was.
Wow! She went there🎵
I can’t believe my ears.
That’s way before her time. She’s got good taste in music. 🎵
Awesome. Well done Bobby! Great guitar and that playing! Wow!
Incredible tone

You can play anything on any guitar. See: Gretsch White Falcon, Malcom Young. See: Gretsch White Falcon, John Frusciante.
