  • Today, I attempt to write a metalcore song WITHOUT any guitars, using only my synths and the @wave-alchemy Triaz Plugin. Can I make this song djent and sound like a deathcore tone without using a 7 or 8 string guitar or without real drum sounds? Using Ableton Live, this song turns out to be closer to EDM than thall, but it might be a nice cross genre. Stick around to find out and if you like what you hear and would like to save 10% off triaz, use code "BKPTRIAZ10"
    I'm Brendon Padjasek of the band Structures from Toronto, Canada and welcome to my channel based on modern metal, djent, and deathcore music, production, mixing and song writing.

    Hi dude, loved this, I've been making alot of metal without guitars for years and it was really cool to see an inside look on how you as a guitarist would utilise synths to do the same 🔥

    I travel a ton for work and sometimes can't lug a guitar with so I've been drifting into writing heavier electronic music.

      @@BrendonKPadjasek I'd went into a little bit of a synthwave kick but started digging for some heavier stuff for inspiration... Carpenter Brut is a good starting point I've found for darker electronic stuff.

    That was awful! I mean, the song is ok, it reminds me of Midnight Fight Express' OST which is kinda cool, bu the song is not remotely metal. My Own Private Alaska made metal with piano, guitar is not mandatory!

    • @Davier9999
      @Davier9999 Місяць тому +1

      I am sorry, I failed to convey what I was trying to say! I meant the song was awful as a metal song, but it is cool and reminded me of the OST I've mentioned. About what genre it belongs to I feel I'm not capable to say because I'm not familiarized with EDM and such. I know it is not metal at all! 😀

    • @BrendonKPadjasek
      @BrendonKPadjasek  Місяць тому

      @Davier9999 no worries! yeah I’m not sure either haha. I used typical metal movements but I guess you’re right. What would you say would have made it metal/ metalcore?

    • @Davier9999
      @Davier9999 Місяць тому +1

      @@BrendonKPadjasek I think that using a different rhythm in the drums, or using something closer to conventional drums like ezdrummer. The samples you've used are really good for trap and EDM, but I think they don't give much of a metal vibe. Now I'm thinking how I would do a metal track without guitars too. Not an easy task!
