- When there are no ocean's left, the inhabitants have had to repurpose ships so than can travel across the barren land.
I convert the Revell 1:108th scale tugboat into a Ship Of The Desert.

There are some great repurposed vehicles recently built by modelers like WWII planes into automobiles and ships into trains. Have you seen a surprisingly repurposed vehicle?
I just got back into building after lock down & my wife having chemo, i had enough unfinished builds to start a repurposed sci-fi flying ship this year. I'm using a 17th century gallon with a chopped VW camper van & the captains cabin is a WW2 era EU tram body, love the tug boat 4 wheeler build & subbed.
@@user-gp1ne6wi3b Just the parts mentioned sounds like you will have an awesome build
Once I put a chrome V-8 Dodge he I dragster motor onto a model plane of one of those WW2 twin engineGerman jets. I thought it looked really cool.
@@shanepowers7566 That does sound very cool
I have seen this other UA-camr, by the name of boylei hobby time, who kitbashes wagons a lot and makes mechs out of them. This boat car is very cool and I would love to see more❤
Holy shit - I can’t believe the UA-cam algorithm served me up a video of a pro making a model of a drawing I made 7 years ago!!! Feel free to make a model from my Huey if you are looking for more weird vehicles that shouldn’t have wheels 😂
I'm a bit confused as the artwork I came across was by Jenna Ong whom I credited. The 'ship' was called The S.S. Hermit Crab. You must be inspiring everyone with this awesome concept. BTW, love the Huey concept.
@@ScaleModelGeek it’s not easy following the reference chain in this day and age- I’m just so pleased I found your video, it made my day!!
@@m.kingery I'm glad it made your day and finally the algorithm worked for me. Thanks so much for watching and I will definitely be doing something with the Huey concept.
Pretty cool diorama you put together. Really like the way you merged the ship and the vehicle.
Thanks for watching
Never thought about using those trays from diamond paintings for mixing palettes. Pretty brilliant.
I'm lucky my elderly mother loves creating that diamond art so I have heaps of those trays.
The tugboat has a hoist probably intended for an inflatable boat. Seeing as this is a boat repurposed for land, maybe it would look cool to hang a land-alternative to a inflatable boat in the hoist, like a couple of dirtbikes or a small offroad vehicle?
Something like that build would be an awesome RC Rig, to drive around.
That plastic model bash is verry cool too. 😃👍
It would get a lot of attention. Thanks for watching
If they make another Mad Max they should talk to you . Well Done.
LOL. Thanks and I'll be waiting
This is really well done! Thank you for your hard work and for sharing this video with us!
Thank you and thanks for watching
Gives a whole new meaning to "Monster Truck", lovely dio. Cheers
Thanks for watching
awesome, need an RC version of this!
Outstanding!!! I love it!
Thank you and thanks for watching
wonderful build! those drybrush and wash paints look awesome, I'll have to check those out. always cool to see a tugboat, no matter the water level.
The water is a bit low in that world. thanks for watching
This is a great conversion of a classic kit! One thing is for certain: The tool and die makers who produced this kit back-in-the-day never in their wildest dreams could have imagined something like being done with this kit . . . .
20th like.
I really enjoy kitbashing and the next project is a little crazy as well. Thanks for watching
I can't wait to see your next project! That said, I wonder if you might consider making a variation on the theme of this video, but using a sailing ship, like a Spanish Galleon, or some other wooden-hulled tall ship . . . ? (Sails fully set, of course.)
@@modelermark172 I wouldn't mind doing an Ice Ship like the one painted by Rodney Matthews
Well done, I like the fact that you are in Australia too as when you mention items you are using I should be able to round them up, oh & I also liked & subscribed on the spot, cheers.
Always trying to help out fellow Aussies and thanks for the sub.
couple of ideas for you Geek... ST/SW mashup - 1701 Refit/Nebulon-B, WW2/SW mashup - HMS Hood/Imperial Star Destroyer, SW/B5 mashup - Victory Star Destroyer/Hyperion Heavy Cruiser
The destroyers sound like a cool idea
Honestly, I first thought this was put on an Axial SCX24. I'm a bit bummed it isn't :D
It would've been hilarious to have that thing drive around.
Freakin awesome job! Your end detailing was PERFECT!
Thanks and thanks for watching
That junt hard as hell
Great build!
Thanks Gameyy. Much appreciated, BTW. Congrats on your channel exploding. Been following you since day 1.
Great concept, awesome build 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
Looks Great modelfriend
Thanks
nice og concept and beautiful recreation.
i realy oved it. will try making one over this weekend, albeit on a smaller scale.
one suggestion: it needs a ladder or rope or something for people to get up to the ship from the ground
It has a crane and I'll be adding a platform at a latter stage. Thanks for watching
Models look absolutely amazing brother 👊
These post-apocalyptic vehicles look so sick, had to click subscribe!
Nice one mate 😎
Thanks for watching and the sub
Awesome work! The scene really tells a story. Perhaps adding a ladder of sorts would help clarify how the passengers get on to and off the tug? Now subscribed and looking forward to checking out some more of your videos.
I did think of doing a walkway but I figured they would use the crane with a platform for security reasons. I might add that at a later stage
A fishing net on one side can be used as a boarding device ;). Looks awesome !@@ScaleModelGeek
Excellent work!
Thank you
Way too cool! Well done
Thanks
Very cool build!
Thanks Chris
I have no idea why I haven't found you before now. But very glad I did! Amazing build! I look forward to checking out your channel. subd
I just keep chugging along in the background. Thanks for watching.
"Let's face it: a tugboat with wheels on land is a pretty dumb idea. But it looks so so cool!" It sure does! Subscribed, excited to see more :)
I'm glad you agree. Thanks for watching
Such a sick and awesome build!!! I absolutely love it!!!! ❤😊❤
Thanks
@@ScaleModelGeek you are welcome 🤗
I've never found vomit awesome, but each to their own I guess
Looks awesome I like these post apocalyptic dioramas. Cheers
Thanks
Cool and fun build, but I think this would be far cooler as a RC vehicle
it would be cool to see it tearing around. Thanks for watching
Looks great 👍
Thanks Sam
Not so daft, reminds me of an old kiwi film where they connected an old helicopter to a tracked base. Great build.
Sounds cool. Do you remember the movie?
Looks cool.
Thanks for watching
super cool build.... I think I might have added some gun positions ... since its post apocolyptic
That would make sense and it didn't even cross my mind at the time. My current diorama build does have guards. Thanks for watching
Very cool result!!
Thanks
Very interesting idea, zombie wars or during an apocalypse. I like it a lot.
I also loved the very cool concept. Thanks for watching
very nice model

Awesome build! New sub for sure 🔥🔥

Another amazing build!

Absolutely brilliant mate! great job!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching
That looks awsome, love the kit bash
Thanks mate. It was a lot of fun
Awesome model. Maybe more rust on the tug and container.
I agree. Thanks for watching
outstanding. 💯
Thank you
Awesome kit bashing! It's amazing what you can 3D print for scratch building or kit bashing. Do you mind sharing the chassis and tire files from Thingiverse? I have a future idea for a scratch build /kit bash and would love to use them in that.

Amazing!
Thanks for watching
That's some mighty fine work right there ... exactly what modelling is about IMHO, making the imaginary real :D
Thanks for that and much appreciated
great work and quite unique. subbed, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and the sub is very appreciated
very nice work sir

G'day new to your channel mate. This build is wicked mate
Thanks and thanks for watching
That looks like an Axial SCX10 chassis, ittd be cool to have an actual SCX10 with a tug body, i think the old Heng Long seaport workboat would work well but its been a while since i had one so the sizes may be wrong
Apparently it is that chassis. I had no idea what it was when I downloaded the file. I just needed a truck chassis. Thanks for watching.
Hey hi love your work 👍, I'd love to see you build dioramas for 40k or conquest or war games in general I think you'd be great on those.. but anyway great work glad you rediscovered your long lost passion
It took a pandemic lockdown to rediscover my hobby. It's been on my list to do something from the 40k world just not sure what to create.
the chassis is an Axial SCX10, its odd that the stl file
has included servos and electronics. someone 3D scanned the 1/10 model I think.
Not sure if they did that as quite a number of the components of the chassis were not connected so when I printed, some pf the parts came apart. They could have possibly scanned the components separately and then assembled them.
Just needs a rope ladder to access the vehicle and a chain to secure cargo container to the deck... but looks cool...
Access is with the crane. I might add a platform at a later stage and yeah, the cargo does need securing
Is there an entrance hatch somewhere?
What kind of 3D printer do you use?
Anycubic Mono X
Would have been cool with the propeller.
I was on the fence with the propeller but obviously went against it in the end. Thanks for watching
That’s Nuts 🌰 ❤
Yes it is. Thanks for watching
How do the tiny people get onto the ship?
The crane
I was on something like this at burning man 😂
With the floods this year, you would have needed it!!! Thanks for watching
Gorka Morka
well did know that big whas hopeing foe 135th scaill yes DA boyz and big mek willl have dun this one and bin painted red to go faster but hole thing good looking and looks like fun to do
awsame
Thanks
Awesome model! I think the deck and walls of the boat could have had a lot more dirt and have a darker color in general. Those parts seem a little too clean as the rest looks more wasteland style. Really good job!
I figured because it was in a wasteland that there would be more dust than grime. Valid point. Thanks for watching
weird, the 3d printed chassis looks like an RC crawler chassis..hmm
Apparently it is a RC chassis
@@ScaleModelGeek it really does look familiar, maybe an scx10 version 3? I can research it in the morning and see what I can figure out, though it doesn't matter, it is just bugging me lol
@@ScaleModelGeek bleh I looked it up it is an axial scx10 II chassis, I looked it up now lol
@@blackehartrc395 Yeah, someone else said that in the comments.

THERE IS MAY BE SOMEWHERE IN ARAL SEA
I feel this needs a pirate flag.
I was toying with flags at one stage but I got side-tracked. Thanks for watching
Give me. 😜
No. 😁😂 Thanks for watching
@@ScaleModelGeek You have thwarted me this time. but will meet again.
@@IWillySaySomething I await your return. Command your champion. ⚔
As both a scale modeller and RC Scale Crawler builder, it is painfull to watch this, because that chassis is an old Axial SCX10 chassis and there is even the steering servo on it. Knowing these kind of scale crawler chassis makes your model less believable for me. Other than that, it is an excellent model!
Thanks for watching
It looks pretty cool, but none of the greeblies were really painted so it makes it look unfinished.
That is so COOL, first time seeing your content, really enjoyed it!
Thanks for watching
Very cool!
