@@liciatoday I admire anyone that tries things out. It's a fun hobby and the sky is the limit. I do the 4 color spray paint method and then run a greyscale test to see what pwr/spd I need to use. I pick the one that is just above hitting the white canvas. Basic color I do one pass of paint with white, yellow, red and black. We both have the 20W S1 it looks like and my settings are 16pwr, 279 speed with 200lines. Hope that gives some idea how you might make your way work. Maybe the reflective material in the acrylic paint is forming a barrier too difficult for the lasers to penetrate?
Not sure but I will be trying other settings out to see how it goes.
Have you tried using grayscale and invert the image? I engrave painted canvases all the time but I invert the image.
I will definitely give that a try. This was my first ever time doing this so was just attempting something different than my usual.
