@@PolskiHacker99900 blonde dude wasn’t, he only had sleeves on his starting vg. Which is tournament illegal. you must have same sleeves on all your cards. (Except cards from the g zone)
@@strawberrygrapes1999 look closely. blond guy use sleeves. They are VG back sleeves tho XD. Both players had black and white sleeves. White on Ride Deck cards and black ones on the normal deck (46 cards) ;)
@@strawberrygrapes1999 The starting vg is part of the ride deck, the ride deck has to have separate sleeves compared to the main deck. This is new era my guy. no g zone here.
@@strawberrygrapes1999 Ride deck is a new mechanic which contains the starting vanguard and can be sleeved differently. His other cards either had clear sleeves or vanguard back sleeves, but they are definitely sleeved.
Interestingly enough despite his height,yu-yu is actually the second oldest protagonist at the start of his own series next to shinemon
I swear, with each generation, less gameplay is shown in the anime...

My expectation:
The first episode is to introduce the new game mechanics.
After watching:
Crossdressing protagonist which more feminine than the heroine which resulting me want it to reappear in the future episode.
Just seeing characters actually using card sleeves already makes this a very interesting TCG anime. Also, the story looks to be good and of course, animation is nice.
Woah... definitely a new feel of Vanguard. First episode already covering toxic positive emotional abuse, getting unwanted advances, actual violence and the fear of being led to a suspicious place by suspicious people.
Definitely see some classic CLAMP style in there too! Lots of BLUSHING and open-minded gender boundaries. I still miss the classics that actually explained the skills and allowed you to gauge the flow of the game, but I must admit, the moment Daiji reached into the darkness and pulled a hand out... I had chills.
By doing this it feels more like a show rather than all about the game.
@@LordEyepatch That's true, but I did enjoy the game aspect of it too. In the original series, the gameplay still managed to carry the show, with Aichi and Kai shouting skills and ride chants. It was nice to see the flow of the game and how the units were envisioned, rather than just half-spoon-fed tidbits of what went on and we have to guess how they won. It's episode 2 and I can't even guess how Trickstar could have even won against a Magnolia deck even with double trigger. I mean, Yugioh and other TCG games focus on the play by play and still can be interesting, so I hope we can get to actually see gameplay instead of flashes and passing remarks about it.
My first ever exposure to Vanguard and it's thanks to me finding out that Roselia's Zeal of Proud will be the OP for this anime

Regarding the main cast ;
Yuyu is kinda like a more feminine Aichi, and Danji is a more goofy and cheerful Kai.
Danji doesn't resemble kai at all tho,he's much more hyper while kai is cool and collective. If anything he's kinda like naoki
@@youraveragemachine1013 I don't mean physically , I mean they're role in the other Main Character's life is similar. Kai encouraged/inspired Aichi into VG. And Danji more or less did the same for Yuyu.

While this new season of vanguard is entertaining, I also feel a little bit disappointed tbh.
From the trailers, I thought it would take place on Cray and the characters would be the monsters (or whatever they would be called).
Danji and zakusa are so cool and cute. BTW do I smell a gay fanfic between yu-yu and danji.

It’s just that interesting because it’s totally different from all of the other Vanguard series
All flash and sparks and no explanation on new cards mechanics and skills, what is this michael bay quality of an episode, such a disappointment for the 1st episode.
I miss the good old days where i play vanguard with a lot of friends when the series still G stride gate and then after the series ended they stop playing vanguard, which force me to stop playing too. I don't know i still love vanguard and seeing the overdress series makes me want to play it again. Unfortunately i don't have any friends to play with... can't just do cardfighting alone, right? Guess i'll just watch the anime for now... don't know when will i be able to play again. Someday.. i hope...

After watching this, I feel inspired of jumping into the world of Cardfight Vanguard, not because of the OPs and EDs sung by familiar artists, but also the storyline!
Ok this new Cardfight is absolute fire. The thing i like the most about this episode is that, unlike the other series (which i did watch and enjoy btw), it first focuses on the characters, with the card game taking a step back, mostly looking like random things happening from an outsider's perspective, just like the main character. It definitely makes it look less like a toy commercial and more like a genuinely good anime. Pretty sure i don't need to mention that the art and animation is simply beautiful, so i'm here for all of this.
Huh I come to check up on how vanguard has changed every now and then cause it's a big part of my childhood.

Been with this series all the way back in 2011 when the anime first aired its episode and had a blast playing the first trial decks of RP and KG. My main clans now are LJ and DP so you know which nation I'm pledging loyalty to (LOL) but love ALL the clans (nations) regardless.
Happy 10th Anniversary Cardfight Vanguard! I'll see the rest of you all on Cray for more heated battles and in the end, be rivals or friends at the end of those fights!

No sign of an overarching plot yet, but color me intrigued. This was a very fun pilot episode! I'm a bit worried that crossdressing is going to become a big gimmick of the series, but for now: a fine start to a new era of Vanguard. Here's to many more fine episodes!
I think it’s best it the anime is actually about kids playing card games and is thus pretty lowkey on overarching plot elements
Why would any overarching plot points be revealed in the first episode? That'd be bad writing.
I got confused when the vanguards were duking it out in the stadium. But as for changes like this in a franchise it's not new to me. I'm excited to see whats in store for Overdress within the franchise.
My comments for this first episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress:
- Usually I think crossdressing is hilarious but in this case it wasn't because Yu-yu disliked it so strongly
- The opening was cool :)
- That asshole recovered too soon from that kick
- That amusement park was so creepy :[
- I actually expected Yu-yu having a chance to play during this episode
- Why Megumi is the only character appearing during the ending credits?
Finally i can't wait....I missed it last week but this time I'll watch it for sure

Woah this blew my mind! The quality of this is amazing and im really looking forward to more. Also I really love the cross dressing theme of the main character, I hope its a recurring thing, very progressive and different for this genre.
You know Yu-yu doesn't like crossdressing, right? That's kind of the whole point.
His sisters pressure him into it and he has difficulty with being as assertive, so he can't say "no" to them. It's much more a character developmental starting point than a gimmick or statement.
As hyped as I am for overDress, I'm just as hyped for Argonavis doing another ED!! Y is so beautiful 💕✨

this is my first time watching a cardfight vanguard series and the first 20 minutes i didnt know where this story was headed but on the last minutese i witnessed one of the best fight scene with beautiful animation ive seen all year! wow
So this is the new protagonist for Cardfight!! Vanguard... Seems more meek than Aichi too. Also, they didn't explain how to play the card game in this episode which makes me a little sad, but so far, it's okay.
