@@mystron390 WHAT!?
They've been a source of knowledge and amazing farms
7:28 finally someone covers the crossbow + tipped arrows strat !!
And I didn't know about multishot, I was using piercing which doesn't work against blocks...
Thanks Ray !
Little Hints -
be aware that silk touched deepslate does not smelt the same way stone does, everything deepslate starts with cobbled deepslate.
So if you're looking to make those Polished Deepslate Tiles, then don't do what I did and mine shulkers full of deepslate, because you'll need to mine it again to get cobbled.
Nether Quartz cannot be combined into a block and then broken down again.
Neither can Amethyst shards.
The quartz thing is so annoying tho, my friend crafted 5 stacks of quartz blocks and I couldn’t turn them back into quartz
the benefit of the turtle shell helmet is that the water breathing effect is instantly regenerated (unlike the normal bubble bar).
5:27
Nice observation, guess you can still use torches to replenish your oxygen!
@@chaomatic5328 with enough torches, you can spam them to create a more-or-less continuous air pocket w/o turtle helmet, tho this might depend ping or mouse speed
And resperation works
I really like the new distribution, Diamonds feel like something you actually earned. At this point, MOST of the resources feel fleshed out and valuable (Copper just needs a couple more crafting recipes), so mining is just more fun. dynamic, and rewarding now.
I would really like they added veins to more of the ores, like rare gold veins in badlands, aswell as extra rare emerald veins in the windswept mountains.
Even large coal veins would be nice.
@@Gin-toki I mean…. eh? I think Copper and Iron is enough. You don’t need MASS amounts of gold unless you really use Powered Rails or Villager Curing a lot, and a Gold Farm would be a better source of it. Coal…. yeah I would like those too. Coal Veins in mountains would be cool, since I always run of of torches.
However, for the other resources, I don’t think there should be veins for them. Gives each of them less overlap in terms of features.
@@BigMastah79 My main reason for wanting veins of other ores too, is due to the exitement of finding one when mining.
The regular branch mining gets kinda tedious in the end but the introduction of veins really helps in this regard.
I don't see what it hurts to add those in.
Also if one needs large quantities of any of these resources, automated farms are the way to go anyways, this also applies to iron and copper which already comes in veins.
@@Gin-toki well find original ones then
Also i dont think coal deposits in veins
Well silverfish boring caught my attention real good I'm here for the whole 19 minutes bois
that silverfish mining technique is insane, i hope there's some way to make it actually efficient and viable because oh my god it looks fun
Moss is better and they should nerf the silver one for paroady or buff it in bedrock
much appreciated. just commenting for the algorithm.
Actually, for copper I still say mining is better considering that one gets much higher yield from it ,just haste beacons on dripstone caves and you get quite a lot
The only problem is that mining is a non-renewable method of obtaining a resource, which naturally forces you to explore farther out if you want more of that resource. Farms eliminate the need for searching.
well yes but for very large scale projects the yield of copper farms simply isnt enough
One hour of mining is equal to 4 of afk, specially with the new ore yield
@@cyreni9756 But you wouldn't really need to venture thousands - or even hundreds - of blocks to get a more than enough copper for your projects, especially if you're in Dripstone Caves or get lucky enough to get a Large Vein.
@@arandomguywitharandomname4187 just afk more then
Copper is deam everywhere, it's so much I usually ignore it, because I don't really like it for building. But is so common that a short session of mining with fortune 3 is gonna give you all you need for your projects.
For Late Game, I like collecting rare Deepslate Ores. I also like finding Geodes, and all the other new items in MC.
Forget having a Dragon Egg on a pedestal. Real gamers have a block of deepslate coal ore on display.
Tip: Use Complementary shaders or a texture that makes the ores glow so you can spot them easily
Might as well use an xray texture pack then
That's cheating in my book
This video has taught me that one doesn't need to mine for any ores in the late-game, which is actually pretty epic bc it changes the meaning of the game's name from Minecraft (a game where you can mine and craft) to Minecraft (a game where you craft what's yours).
Idk. Pretty epic if you ask me. (You can still keep mining if you want to, though.)
Really makes me happy to see night vision become more useful in 1.18
hope they would add rope in the game that works the same way as scaffolding, so that you could really feel that you're spelunking the caves
that would definitely be useful, i remember some sort of "rope ladder" from some modpack or other a couple years ago, that basically worked like scaffolding but it went down instead of up, and that would honestly be very useful for the new caves
crimson vines (i forgot the name)
is a joke to you
Well they added nether vines and glow berreis
@@draedongaming2002 yeah but doesn't look like a rope, plus, you do need to pick it up on the nether, but is good since you got the colored green one which feels very natural looking, and I want it something that you can craft early in the game
As a 36year old dude who started playing minecraft after i had bought it for my 7year old son, who now finds himself playing it in my office at work.
Your youtube channel has been a massive help for me and my world, 2200MC days strong with lots of motivation left thanks to your uploads
I love aquifer mining, even in the early game. The water is so good for mobility, ore generation is increased, and the occasional drowned are so much easier to deal with compared to skeletons and creepers.
Drowns only spawn in dripstone caves and axlotls and tropic fish are lush so yea rare sea life
Good source of glow squid ink if in standard aquifer, trident/nautilus/copper if dripstone aquifer and finally axolotls and tropical fish for lush aquifers
Also unexposed ores
I would recommend ignoring copper and coal until after you got Fortune III; you can produce a lot of charcoal with giant spruce trees quickly and you can get a whole lot of exp from all the extra copper ingots you smelt... and you can trade the coal for emeralds 😉
@@pringle409 if you got fuel (gotta love lava, charcoal or just carpet duping) it's good exp; just set up a good smelter, ez
The work these videos take is insane!
I was waiting for this! Thank you !
I really just enjoy mining for the mining itself. It's fun to be doing a systematic strategy like branch mining to a pre-determined distance and just seeing if the next block is an ore. I love mining.
Nice, I really wanted to know where is the best to mine the different ores!
This guy has been playing minecraft longer than some minecraft players have been alive
Very interesting video really helpful thanks
I love watching your videos, so fascinating
5:43 I love using doors, especially early game when I don’t have enchants. Mined full iron everything on a new 1.18 world in an underwater cave using doors and magma blocks. Another good alternative to doors is banners, they work really well if that happens to be an item you have on hand, such as when mapping terrain.
But doors are loged in bedrock
@@timohara7717 I’m not sure if this works in Bedrock, as an alternative (I play Java), but have you tried using a water bucket to breath underwater? You empty and fill in rapidly using the source block that overlaps the players head. Another alternative is to wear a turtle shell helmet and place a torch under water every ten seconds or so, the one tick that it stays there for allows you to refresh the 10 second water breathing effect. Hopefully one of these can work for you in Bedrock :)
You are definitely one of the best minecrafters in existence,
I hope you stay happy and continue doing what you love!
😉
Now this is what called a great 20 Minute Minecraft Video
Worth my 1190 Seconds of Life
Looks like we have to wait another 12 Years to get another video like this XD
I’m imagining a system where you build a redstone circuit to drop poison potions every hour real-time and then just AFK next to the silverfish spawner to strip-mine down to lava level. It would be ridiculously slow but it would only need human intervention when you hit water
thats a really interesting idea. huh.
That's quite simple actually. Just make a hopper clock and hook it up to a dispenser.
@@mostsharksdontattendchurch3790 the beauty of it is in its simplicity.
I'm Not Dissapointed
Truelly Enjoyed This Masterpiece of a Video
5:48 A little tip that I have acquired while mining/finding treasures under water with magma blocks. If there's a block beside it that is higher than the magma block, stand on the edge of it close to the magma block and you won't need to hold shift when needing some air
Thank you for making this! Are you gonna make a video about the new mob spawning changes (I.e. how y level affects spawn rates)?
if you reach endgame in minecraft and bored as hell caving is a great option to mine some resources and fight mobs and explore.
Man without you it would have been a nightmare!
You earned a new subscriber. Thank you for the quality content.
0:39 first section, fortune is not good for mining, because raw resources take more inventory space than the silk touched ore block.
So better use silk touch on the best pickaxe !
You can condense then in a table
@@jonathansauceda589 that's a waste of time and effort + you need 2 inventory slots to carry the raw blocks alongside the raw items.
Only 1 Inventory slot is needed to carry the silktouched ores.
Especially considering that, at least for copper, the condensed ore block you craft with the ore from fortune is only slightly more dense than the silked ore block, now that fortune yields on average 7.2ish copper per block mined.
Assuming you are either mining in a deepslate only OR nondeepslate only region, you’d need to be mining at least nine stacks of copper ore blocks for it to end up being more space efficient to use fortune and crafting table instead of silk touch, since 9 blocks of copper ore when fortuned will yield 7 and part of an 8th stack of raw copper blocks, plus a ninth stack for the raw copper pieces. Whereas if you are collecting both deepslate and non deepslate variations of copper it becomes worth it to use fortune if you are mining more than a stack of each variant.
So if you are going for maximum inventory space efficiency, I’d say the pickaxe you choose is based on your expectation of how much of what ores you’ll be mining.
Personally I silk touch everything to use for decoration
Edit: thinking more about it, I’d say that fortune starts making sense when you are mining either hardly any ore at all, like less than a stack (as it will either be as efficient or twice as efficient as silk due to deepslate variants), or loads and loads of ore in one mining trip, like multiple shulker boxes worth. If you are mining several stacks of each ore type, silk touch will be more efficient. The transition between silk touch vs fortune being more efficient for a given ore type is determined by the fortune factor for that ore. Any ore that when fortuned yields on average more than 2*9=18 ore items will never ever be most efficiently stored by mining using fortune. The factor of 2 is because of deepslate.
@@MrDoughnut99 +10000
@@YounesLayachi if mining a large amount the density of the condensed ores vastly outweighs the single extra slot for the raw ores
Thanks a lot ❤️😊
I’ve been grinding away at -58. Gonna try the level 0 strat. I was starting to detest deepslate!
Amazing 👏🏻
What the hell I'm absolutely blown away. You just made my life so much easier. Fantastic video, +1 sub
14:10 omgg u found the deepslate emerald ore thats so rare
It isnt
@@timohara7717 it is
Once get set up with full diamond gear I never mine for diamonds and mine for iron which I constantly run out of and find a bunch of diamonds in the way
hi ray can you do a video on the fastest way(s) to obtain enchanted golden apples? there are a bunch of structures that have it as a possible chest loot but it's hard to decide which way is the fastest or easiest
Very easy , if you are not afraid to die , just look for ancients citys with elytra , fly down , break every chest , collect the loot , and fly away before the warden get you , very effective but quite risquy ( but fun somehow ) , otherwise for more middle game strats , you could also fly upon desert with max render distance and move diagonaly once you found ( and looted ) a pyramid , you would very likely found another pyramid and start the whole process again until you covered the whole desert up .
You can also get infinite night vision from conduit, as there is water in aquafiers, so it's easy to set up. But as you need to move conduit time to time if out of range, I guess the multi shot night vision arrows are more portable
Love your Vids
Do you have any plans do develop farms for bedrock edition?
If so that'd be very helpful!
Thank you for crediting Borkon. He's great.
10:45 the THICC beacon XD
thank u for this
Keep in mind that iron with tuff and copper with granite is not always a large ore vein. It could just a small vein of it near a patch of granite/tuff
Hey ray, can you try making a raid farm that works properly with the illagers+ mod in 1.16. Hopefully you see this :D. Your videos are great!
What is the best level for using tunnel bores in 1.18 as there are new caves and massive lava pools in them?
what level should u make the tunnle bore in 1.19 for diamonds?
I just enjoy mining. It’s therapeutic... and how I spend my time in more up-to-date versions of the game
theres a feature on lunar client that gives fullbright and if you dont change your brightness settings it will carry on to vanilla minecraft, probably its that gamma thing you found
and you are an absoloute legend for making this
I was mining for only 1 or 2 in-game days in a Dripstone Cave with a Fortune III pickaxe and I got 13,5 Stacks of raw Copper blocks.
you can actually instamine dipslate with using beacon with a trick (bedrock not sure if it's in java)
this will probably be interesting
you are a God of mining bro
Plz a toturial for cobble stone mining .
I am tired building with diamond blocks
2 questions
1. Whitch is the most effective method?
2. Is there any x-ray glitch known on 1.18?
Please answer....btw great video
i found an 8 vein with 4 of them visible on the surface. How rare is that in 1.18?
he really is nice youtuber:)
Your power bill must be insane with the number of plugs at the end of the video haha
(But seriously tho, they’re useful)
Is it possible to make that bore fully automatic?
how did you get your game to look cinematic like that? is that a shader or just a filter you applied after recording?
@@RaysWorks ph it’s probs the gamma
I found 2 veins of 9 diamonds, and one of them was right next to a vein of 2.
This made me realise I suck at mining.
I play on a vanilla+ server and have large villager trade halls both in town and frontier. Currently on 1.17.1
I'll mine nowadays for some things:
magma cube blocks, deepslate and deeps ores, geode blocks, quartz ore, and ancient debris for in-game currency.
Mostly though I mine deepslate these days: I've found that deepslate lapis is incredibly uncommon and approaches the rarity of deepslate emeralds, even when in the right biomes. Even though they come in bigger groups, overall the numbers are ALMOST the same. at Y5-17 I find that in mountains (where I mine for deeps ems) the ratio of deeps diam to reg diam ore ~ 3-4 to 1.
With the coming reset of the worlds on this server that are used for gathering resources: deeps emeralds is now the king 'anchor' of regular vanilla blocks as far as value goes. We have server-specific promos worth a ton more, but you can't get enough deeps em ore atm
1.17.2 does not exist 😆
@@YounesLayachi damn kb typo. new cherry mx brown kb, super light but easier to hit the wrong key :|
@@djdrack4681 alright, enjoy that puppy x)
Late game I find the main reason to go mining is raw iron and raw gold blocks for building purposes. Especially obtaining large amounts of raw gold blocks is a long grind.
What about copper? And copper and iron spawn in huge veins somethimes
I KNOW this is a banger
I built one of those flying machines in the nether on my paper server. First the machine didn't work at all. After enabeling the "allow piston duping" setting, the tnt duper worked but whenever i unload the chunk, the budded tnt ignites, drops through the wall underneath and explodes the entire duper. making me rebuild it. Is there anything i messed up with the settings, or is this a known bug?
Dont unload the chunk
Hello there
When mining in a water cave, use doors to regain oxygen and mine with regular speed
Ore gathering is gonna be much more grindy
I enjoy mining because it feeds my mining addiction...
Ray, I’m surprised your not on hermitcraft!
just started playing yea little late but im here finely lol ok mining is my way of relaxing
You can also turn up your gamma that way the game is never dark again
I own a server with 15 others and we use diamonds as a currency as they can not be farmed… until I build this tunnel bore
Ah yes… all 8 years of my mining knowledge is basically useless now.
Me: you can't insta-mine deepslate
Ray: or can you?
Xray is pretty pro
EDIT: bruh i'm so dumb he talked about it later on ahah
About the dark giant caves: you can also up the gamma in the options.txt file! Some may consider it cheating but MAN it's helpful (except when you're trying to light up your base haha)!
Wish they had mossy deepslate
FEESH
16:50 "Way back in 1.16" 😭
Since the update I can't get any flying machine contraption to work. It will just jump, or move a space or two then comes back, or very rarely will go all the way to my obsidian stopper. Any suggestions? I play on my phone, BTW. So... bedrock I guess?
Yes the flying machine only works on java but there are flying machines for bedrock. The tnt dupe glitch is only java too
@@mostsharksdontattendchurch3790 I've tried every tutorial for bedrock I could find, even the ones that say "work on 1.18" don't seem to. Do you know of one specifically that does work and share the link? I'd really appreciate it If you do.
Deepslate mining is too annoying for me. I wish here was a way to automate them. I have been mining deepslate for last two days and got around 10,000 or so. I need around 55000 for my megabuild!
Didn't he show you the tunnel bore? You can make like 8 of those, and just keep spamming and collecting the blocks.
@Tanjim Tusher it'd be faster than mining manually, keep in mind that since ~1.15 TNT now drops 100% of blocks that it destroys
@@theseangle wait, now tnt drops 100% of blocks that it destroys?!!!
@@tanjimtusher5476 yes, that's why I read every single changelog when a new snapshot or version comes ;)
@@tanjimtusher5476 also to avoid confusion: creepers' explosions still don't drop 100% of blocks. They have remained the same
What is new sea level ?
What about wither mining?
You fraking nerd I love it
yeee
The tunnel bores don't work anymore, the coral always breaks
Can you make more tutorials?
@@RaysWorks Its epic that Rays Works is active whit his community
Can anyone tell me what all the non-refundable blocks are? Perhaps the answer would be suited for a video.
Also remember AMETHYST BLOCK CANT BE CONVERTED BACK TO CRYSTALS.
That's not an ore
Mossy hole gang, fastest way to dig from peak to bedrock
I'm not ready to discuss 1.18 until they fix the big bugs in 1.18 Bedrock: reopen game and cannot connect to Realms until you kill it, disappearing boats, villages generating with impossible height differences, world parts generated in wrong order, anvils breaking too fast, on and on.
I just found a two emerald ore vain under 0
Sorta rare i guess
