THE LEGEND OF ZELDA WITH A SIDE OF SALT (HANDHELD EDITION) COMING SOON
Some views have changed since the vids were originally made, Also i can beat majoras mask in like 2 and a half hours now

  • @hoovy2319

When I was a little kid, I tried so fucking hard to save everyone in Majoras mask. Beat all the dungeon bosses and complete all the side quests in the 3 days time just so everyone would be happy after I beat Majora. My mom still tells me about the time where I came running into the kitchen crying and when she asked what was wrong, I told her through sniffles that I couldn’t help everyone
Granted, I was a little kid so most of it was me fucking up or wasting time and now a days, I can probably go back and do all of it after a few tries but still, Majoras Mask was an emotional game for me as a kid

@@threadychimp5565 I think you're right about that. While I will admit that doesn't seem good for the main drive of the game, I think it adds to the world itself. The people lived for 100 years without a threat, and although weird stuff starts happening when link wakes up, it doesn't immediately threaten everyone. The people of hyrule go about living as your or I might in their place, at least as best as nintendo imagines they might. Great artistically, maybe not perfect for gameplay. What do you think?

Well, the game has issues. Issues that could be fixed if they could remake it properly. There are things in it that would have made it a fun game.. Just take out the aspects that punish the player too much. Tweak it so, when you die, you can respawn or restart close to where you left off. Add some maps. But till that happens, it is not a good game. And I say this with a soft spot in my heart for Zelda 2.

well this guy seems to have a hate boner for it cos most comments I've seen mentioning the game on this video have him calling it trash
I will admit, it's not a perfect prequel (though to be fair I'd have been depressed playing a game where I know the characters I've come to love are going to lose)
But all in all it has some really great moments as well as much needed character development of the champions and the 3 best Sheika
Do *you* remember Impa and Purrah being sisters? Cos i forgot that entirely up until this game though that could just be me
And i feel the way they handled the time split was very nice this go around (looking at you ocarina of time) because its a pretty clean cut loop aside from some things i won't get into because of spoilers for people who haven't played the game
Its not perfect, but calling it trash isn't giving it the credits it *does* deserve
Hell, i actually cried at some moments because I really felt emotionally invested in these people struggling to change their fate

That was me against master mode Ganon. I thought I'd be fine brute forcing it just at a faster pace with strong weapons like before. Lol nope, he kept climbing the wall and regaining the tiny bits of health I took and then some. I had to make another attempt and forced to use the ancient armor, battle axe++, two shiekah shields, (ancient) bow and arrows, +3 attack food and of course the Master Sword. The shields broke (I'm not good on timing my parries against lasers, sometimes i get it and most times i mess up. I didn't feel breaking all my shields with inconsistent parrying and losing so much health over it) and the blade saw broke on the final hit that transitioned him into his second phase. The regen was no joke but at least I learned more moments I could counter and that I didn't need updraft for the final shot against Dark Beast Ganon.

Gravity Falls Canada well the weapon system has not been universally hated, personally I like the fact that weapons break. It makes you think about if you need to fight a enemy and risk breaking your weapon or save it for something more challenging. But most of these criticisms are about things that are optional, you don’t need to collect all korok seeds or finish all the shrines, what I like is that all of that is optional. You can go straight to ganon and finish the game, or 100% the game, or any other thing you want. The game has really bad rewards for certain things. The reward for collecting all korok seeds, literal shit. But the rewards for the shrines is maxed out stamina ( if you choose ) and maxed out hearts ( if you choose). Plus if you really want to max out your inventory you only need about 450 of them. The dlc is either not enough content for the price, or is priced to high, BUT the Mastr Cycle Zero is supposed to be a reward that does not fit in the main game. That’s the whole point of dlc to bring something different to the main game that’s why it makes sense the the Master Cycle Zero is a dlc prize. The frame rate is not good but it’s still passable because the frame rate only drops only ( from what I know of) rain, Fire, or high weapon/enemy count. It would be extremely hard not to have a frame rate drop when it is running on the switch. I believe it would’ve been better on the PS4 or Xbox because those consoles are more powerful.

Just wanted to say that in Mario Odyssey some of the moons are put in poor places or are rewarded for stupid reasons. For example there is a moon in wooded kingdom that involves breaking a rock open. The act of breaking a rock open only gives you coins unless you are getting said moon. That means that the act of breaking a rock is the equivalent of a coin. So why is the same action that is worth 1 COIN worth a moon? But that’s me nit picking, the story is supposed to be simple is Mario supposed to be as story focused as Silent Hill? NO. Your just an Italian plumber who wants to save a princess from a gay turtle. I would only criticize the story if it actually meant something and wasn’t so down to earth simple and not meant to be focused on. That’s why Zelda isn’t perfect, the story is just full of plot holes and the enemy variety sucks.

And my favorite tracks in the game I only hear very limitedly. I love kass' accordion yet I only hear it in certain places. I absolutely love the main theme yet you rarely hear it. I just wish I could get more lovable tracks and hearing them more often. I always loved Oot, WW, Tlp, and links Awakening because the themes made me feel the world. I may have listened/watched this video at least 10 times now. And mainly why I do is because the Legend of Zelda series, ever since I was a kid, has held a pretty special place in my heart even to this day. From what I interpret about what people see games as, I always like to listen to you when you talk about how these games impacted you and helped shaped you as the person and creator that you are / working to be. I enjoy listening to it because I share that sort of kinship with the stories that have been told in Zelda such as MM (also my favorite due to its story themes and heavy impactful moments), OoT, SS, WW, TP (Midna and Zant power struggle). I have also been inspired by Zelda to try and come up with a story of my own which hopefully will be known and well liked someday.
I also myself feeling a little less outcasted with my thoughts and adoring of the controversial titles such as MM, WW, SS while having eh or chex mix bag feelings about the more publicly praised games like BoTW which I really didn't get into due to it's pretty heavy contrast from the Zelda formula I have known and loved for the 20 or so years I have been playing them. That could be the old man, creature of habit mentality I have, but that's just me.
Bottom line, I like your content Scott, for you aren't afraid to tell things how you see it as. But also can show that the things that you adore and care about have a high level of passion and care such as the story that you are also creating. I hope that your ambitions come to fruition as you dream and please keep doing what you're doing. You're doing great, at least in my opinion.

My two cents about Ocarina of Time:
I played at launch and exhaustively over the following year. It was the best game ever made, it took adventures to another level.
After finishing it, but before news of a sequel hit magazines (yeah!) or the internet, talking with friends was all about "Imagine the sequel!" It was a revolution but didn't age so well.
Majora's Mask, in case you are wondering, is my favorite and aged better. But, of course, at launch, it couldn't replicate the feeling of novelty and of playing Ocarina of Time for the first time. So, much time and many discussions took place about the mechanics and meaning of it.
To sum it up: disdaining OoT now won't do any service - either you played the game when it revolutionized the industry or, even if you don't like it now, you agree that it made an enormous leap for gaming. It still is, for me, one of the most wonderful adventures.

IDK I played it at launch and I wound up getting bored and setting it down about halfway through. I have since completed it but I remember at the time I thought it dragged a lot. I think it would have been a lot more revolutionary if it had come out a few months earlier before Banjo-Kazooie, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Metal Gear Solid. Particularly Banjo-Kazooie.
EDIT: I was referring to my personal experience, the hype was most definitely real.

I literally grew up on Zelda, I 100% wind waker when I was little, played a bit of Oot but got scared at adult Link. I came back when I was older, to the adult Link section. I did go through an edgy tween phase and Twilight Princess is still my favorite. Finally I went back through Majora's Mask and A Link Between Worlds. I love this series, but it has it's flaws, and even knowing that, going back through is never a chore to me, because nostalgia makes all of it fun.

  • @lthefifteenth661

I understand your gripe about Ganondorf in TP, especially for the time when it came out. That said, his personality shift in Wind Waker to Twilight Princess likely has to do with what he had dealt with, between the two timelines.
On one hand, he had some time to dwell about all the stuff he had done while sealed in the sacred realm. On the other, he sealed away before even getting the chance to take over, pissing him off even more

  • @will6391

So... when I first played OOT, I was five, and was scared out of my mind from the redeads, causing me to stop playing it. It wasn't until 5 years later that I picked it up again-My dad downloaded the original version on the wii, I played the whole game. The reason why OOT of time is in my top 5 games, is because I can still play it today, and love it. I was able to overlook the negatives for all of the positives.

This video was great and I agreed with a lot of the points, but I’m not sure how twilight princess is a watered down version of ocarina of time.
