I bet that was a lot of fun filming with your skills! Awesome editing, too! Thanks for sharing, it looked like an amazing group keeping their skills sharp!
I've flown an L-39 and they are absolutely so fun to fly. While I've not done the Star Wars Canyon, I have flown the "Finger Lakes 100 ft Deck" run - in the Vandy 1.
@@excellenceinanimation960 It was 10 years ago when they were here for the Geneseo Airshow and offered ride-a-longs. But it was anything but that as I learned everything I could about the L-39 beforehand so it was just my hands on the stick & throttle for about an hour.
Spent a day there in August of 2017. It was 117 degrees out there that day but was so worth it! I got some amazing photos of VFA-14 Super Hornets, VX-9 Growlers, 416th F-16D, Marine F/A-18Cs, a C-17 over the top and wrapped up with the F-15SA from Edwards!!! Will never forget it!
Looking at the title, I thought this was a joke and the video would be flying the family through the LAX corridor. Wow, was I amazed that this was more than even the title could express. Fantastic video! Epic!
This seems like an exciting and adventurous aviation event, flying through Star Wars Canyon. Safety and situational awareness are paramount in such low-level flights.
youtube is horrendous. It pretty much always just tries to serve you new creators and not the ones you subscribe to! i guess maybe click the bell to receive notifications of new videos? Thanks for watching!
Great footage! Eric, did you consider doing an extended intro similar to "Spaceballs" with the never ending L-39? Probably would add another 2-3 minutes of video time but would be hilarious! LOL
Has the military started allowing below the rim runs into Star Wars Canyon after the F-18 crash? I thought those restrictions were still in place. Hope I'm wrong!!
Last I heard the military was limited to 1000 feet above the rim (maybe it's been lowered since then). This was a non-military flight so no military restrictions applied.
WHY are you claiming that the L-39 is a “fighter jet”? It clearly is not. Oh that’s right, the lie sounds cooler and gets more clicks than “trainer jet”.
The Aero L-39 Albatros is a jet-powered subsonic trainer aircraft developed in the 1960s at the Czechoslovak Aero Vodochody. In the 1970s and 1980s, approximately 2,800 of them were part of the air forces of thirty countries and remain the most widely used jet training aircraft in the world. Abkhazia, Algeria, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Libya, Lithuania, Mali, Mozambique, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Russia, Slovakia, Syria, Tajikistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Ghana, Iraq, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Hungary, Germany, Romania, North Korea (Tomorrow Never Dies), Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan. For example. More pilots have learned to fly in this plane than you've read in books. Have you ever shot a CZ 75?
Warman wears one out of habit (Air Force). Other advantages: if you get smoke in the cockpit, you can turn on oxygen and continue to breathe; if you're pulling high G's you can use oxygen for increased G tolerance and better mental performance; if you have a depressurization event, you can remain conscious; and if you suffer a bird strike, the mask can cushion your face from direct impact from the bird.
@@KuostA Normally oxygen is only flowing when it's turned on, and when you're breathing in - that's what the regulator does. Similar to a scuba diving regulator. There's also an emergency setting where you can have it free flow, which might be useful in a situation like smoke in the cockpit. For the flight in this video, we didn't have oxygen turned on at all, because we didn't need it (we weren't flying high enough to need it). But Warman's microphone is in his mask, so he has to wear it to use his microphone.

@@vfajunebug4540 For example, the Syrian army has been using L-39 fighter jets in combat for many years. They were used, for example, around Aleppo. In 1981-1984, Syria received 99 aircraft of the L-39ZO and L-39ZA versions. They can carry 23 mm cannons, rockets, bombs and anti-aircraft guided missiles.
Can you make the subtitles optional? I deal with them by pushing them off the bottom of the screen. They are just a distraction. Swapping between the briefing and the flight, also may be great editing and production, but it just makes me skip the briefing. And in the end, it's like a modern action film, or an episode of top gear. There's so much cutting backwards and forwards and from inside to outside that there's no continuity. Sorry, great video production, but for me the final product sucks. I am sure you had a great day, but with the inline adverts and the broken timeline the overall effect for me is not a channel I would continue to follow. And as I watch the end... the too loud music? I'd rather hear the jet. Unsubscribed.
the cool thing about art is that it's subjective. I had a great time shooting and editing this. Sorry it didnt land for you, but also... not sorry at all. :)

When your instructor first flew the canyon in an F-100 you know he is the REAL DEAL! Amazing!
Awesome video! I was one of the photographers out at that canyon that day. Cool to see it from this perspective.
What days and times would you recommend going out there ??
16:15 the older instructor pilot, "warman", did a barrel roll after the canyon run. that was nuts lmaooo
I do it in the sim all the time! :)

How does one get the opertunity? Iv been up to Elmira to fly gliders but a jet would just be awesome!

"Do not try this at home"
Ah yes with the jet and canyon I have in my backyard.
Warman Jedi pilot master
excellent footage and editing! can't wait to do the canyon run myself!
Epic!! Great job guys everything was flown on-point! And 250kts always seems faster on video!
I see what you did there with the intro… Love it. I hate Star Wars but that was fire 🔥!
I love that the FAR's give enough flexibility to be able to do this stuff, when done safely.
Thanks guys, from an old vet.

Lots of great people in this video!
This was super awesome to watch!!!
WOW! Superbly produced as well!
thank you.
Fantastic Neo & Warman !
Fun video. Great editing.
Thanks so much!
Amazing. Best video you have made. Hands down. Thank you.
That’s affirmative! 😉👍
Awesome video, Great to see the amazing views in STAR WARS Canyon.
Very nice perspective on that canyon flight.
TAKE ME, TAKE ME !😁 ... Thats just so COOL !.
Thank you for sharing that!
Wow!!! Super great!
Excellent cinematography!!!!
Best Aviation Video Award 2023!
Thanks a lot!
How did I miss this video? I’ve watched all of your stuff but missed this somehow. WTH?

@ I’ve watched all of your videos. I went down the list and somehow missed this one. No idea how to why. We need more videos :)
Grand Master Yoda of aviation videos you are 🙇♂️

yeah that would have been funny... :)
Great video! That was really fun to watch. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Why was the computer monitor / video screen for the safety brief blurred?
At the request of the event organizer so no one would try it on their own.
So so cool! Goosebumps here ❤❤
Incredible video, I always look forward to your content!
Beautiful!! Thank you
Great video. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
Very cool flying, great editing and a dream job, just a shame you weren’t in the back seat!
Best video of this type of flying. Wow!!
I really appreciate that thank you
Czech Made. L-159 is a bit more awesome.
Awesome video.
I can't wait to get my private pilot license.
Man this was great
Thanks man!!!
GREAT VIDEO!!! Very well done!
Thank you very much!
Great Video!
did you get a approval to run the Star Wars intro banner? lol.. anyways.. that looks like so much fun
So what, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays to deconflict with military use?
Military isn’t allowed that low in the canyon anymore…
Interesting. I'm sure the accident had something to do with it.
Hey I was there :)
I can already hear Poppins saying "No."
FAB.
Such an awesome video!
Thank you!!
❤
Ruskov buggies flying down the canyon. 😂😚🤪
Evo was a hacker and now owns a jet?

Military has a altitude cap

Any X-Wings in formation?
I'd hate to see the arguments about who gets to be Red 5...
Really cool video. I'd love to sit in on a canyon run at some point. As always, great video, great story!
This is so cool!
The video was missing those nice, long shots of the canyon going by. Too much jumping around from one angle to another.
When you make a video for everyone to watch for free on UA-cam you can include those shots! LOL
These murricans do that using a bad-ass Soviet turbofan engine. Of course no mention of it.
