Nektar has to be the most underrated prog band of them all!
Agreed. My favorite they are phenomenal
I've only heard their first 6 but those are all amazing. Super hard to rank!
1. A Tab in the Ocean
2. Remember the Future
3. Journey to the Center of the Eye
4. ...Sounds Like This
5. Recycled
6. Down to Earth
I think it's really cool that each of these albums sound very different from each other but are still recognizably Nektar
REMEMBER THE FUTURE is my favorite album of all time. Perfect.
Oui superbe album Rock /prog/Funk très melodique et avec un beau son
great pick
Wow.
Amen
Nektar were my first concert back in 1973 at the indoor sports venue in Differdange ( Luxemburg ). I was 13 at the time and seeing Roye all dressed in white with a white Les Paul playing this wonderful music and the amazing liquid light show was life changing. Got a cool poster at the merch stand after the gig that decorated my teen room for years.
Started on the guitar very shortly after that revealing experience and never stopped since.
Peace And Love
A friend and I had tickets to see them at the Fox Theater in Atlanta in probably 1976 or 1977. The seats were right down in front of the stage a few rows back. Couldn't believe how lucky we were to get such great seats... A few weeks later they announced on the radio that the Nektar concert had been canceled due to lack of tickets sales. lol
@@frankmarsh1159 Wow that's something because up in the northeast they would sell out. I guess they just weren't popular down south . To bad 🙁
@@geneleonard4368 Well they didn't get much radio airplay. Matter of fact I think they only played them on college stations. The Fox holds about 4500 people so it was probably too big for their fan base. Yes (as well as many other rock bands) could easily sell out the Omni which was about 16000.
@@frankmarsh1159 Hi, I guess that's the reason because at that time in the NY /NJ / PA area besides college stations playing Prog rock Many Big radio stations were as well like WNEW / NY which had Prog rock shows ,Nightbird as well as Philly/PA which prog rock for whatever reason has always been Very popular in PA .The Capitol theater where I saw them held 3200 ,I saw many incredible shows there . ✌️😎
It's great to see one of my favourite prog bands getting some love here - they rarely get mentioned as often as they should!
Saw Nektar on the Remember the Future tour I was fourteen they played in a small banquet hall in my tiny little Pa hometown, maybe fifty people never will forget it game changing experience for me. They have always held a special place for me because of that show.
I saw them two, or three times and the light-show was really something.
1 - A Tab In The Ocean
2 - Remember The Future
3 - Journey To The Center..
4 - Down To Earth
5 - Recycled
6 - Magic Is A Child
7 - The Other Side
Until one month ago, I had never heard, or even heard of, Nektar before, and *entirely thanks* to this video, I bought "Sounds Like This" and "Remember The Future." Thank you so much, Pete! It's so cool to be discovering some of the *greatest music I've ever heard* in my 40s!!
Great review, Pete, with insights for yet another band for me to now enjoy. Sampled tracks from your top three interspersed with watching the show and looking forward to a further, deeper listening. Thanks again for all you do, Pete.....keep up the great work!
Very enjoyable listen. Recycled would be my #1 favorite. I’ve always thought it was a precursor to industrial and industrial metal. Like you said, very different for the band. I remember buying it as a kid, so it had huge nostalgia value to me as well. I tend to like the US mix best but again nostalgia plays a big part in that. Most fans tend to like the Europe mix/pressing best.
I've only recently gotten into Nektar, but I'm a fan of industrial, I'll have to give it a listen.
I was lucky enough to be at their original line-up reunion in London in 2004 - I actually wept with joy when they walked on stage and the first few chords of "A Tab In The Ocean" started.
Stop showing the CDs Show only the LPs.
Stop showing the CDs Show only the LPs.
The title track of that album has one of the best keyboard intros of any album,
yes, i was there. It was quite an evening, and one young Argentinian fan lent over to me at one point and said, "Now we can die happy".
Was waiting for this... enjoy this band a lot🎶👍❤️
I really like all their 70's albums, but my favorite is 'Recycled', probably because I am a HUGE Larry Fast fan. I absolutely love his 'Synergy' albums his work with Peter Gabriel. Gotta say though, 'Tab in the Ocean' is a pretty freaking awesome album, too.
“Journey to the Centre of the Eye” is my number 1 by Nektar.
One of my favorite all time bands..
Tab in the ocean
Remember the future
Journey
Recycled
Sounds like this
Down to earth
The other side
All excellent recordings.
Agree, they should have been bigger with such Great music they made.
Good list
Circa 1974 they were scheduled to perform a concert in Jacksonville, FL but it was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales. Living in the SE it was difficult, to say the least, to have any opportunity to see any of my favorite bands (all prog at that time) live in concert. As a pacifier to those of us that bought tickets, our local planetarium featured the music of Nektar for one of their "Cosmic Concerts", which my friends and I frequented [more often than not, in a state of perceptual augmentation]. The show was fantastic; but what made it very special was, during a passage from within "Remember The Future", much to our surprise, the band members entered the room amid pulsating strobe lights, and made a single pass around the circular seating area. I'm fairly certain there remains a stain on my seat cushion to this day. Sadly, when the show ended, the band had not remained in the hallway to meet and sign autographs. So I never got the chance to see them perform live, but for this (then) 17 year old, I had an exciting and memorable experience.
A friend and I had tickets to see Nektar at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Probably 1976 or 77.
Great seats down in front. A few weeks before the show they said on the radio it had been cancelled.
Later we learned it was due to lack of ticket sales. Our planetarium didn't give us a Nektar show.
They did a Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds show. It was pretty bad. They edited out all the parts that had loud electric guitars.
We got a refund for the Nektar concert. I'd have rather seen Nektar than go to the planetarium.
@@frankmarsh1159 That was the main reason I hated living in the SE. Most, if not all the bands I love the most would never tour near enough, and back then none of us had the cash to travel and get meals and a hotel just to attend a concert. When asking our parents, they thought I'd lost my mind. Now years have passed and I can almost go anywhere I want to see a show, but sadly most of the bands I would want to see are no longer together.
... and the ones that are, simply are not the same.
@@ayeatropoulos1 Most bands came to Atlanta. In fact Atlanta was considered to a required stop for many bands. I saw Yes, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Uriah Heap, Jethro Tull, ELP, ELO, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, Todd Rundgren, Styx, just to name a few. And those were when I was still in high school.
@@frankmarsh1159 I did make that trek many times as well!!
Been listening to Nektar first time recently. Loving it.
I found them nearly a decade ago, I think. Steven Wilson mentioned on a interview Journey To The Centre Of The Eye, which instantly grabbed my ear, what an album! A tab in the ocean and Remember the future were just further proof of how incredibly overlooked they (still) are.
Nice show, Pete ! Nektar is an absolutely brilliant band, yet sadly under the radar of many (prog fans surely know them well). Right until the end, with Roye Albrighton, their live performances were absolutely stunning ! I’ve been a huge fan since the 80’s and I regret not having seen them live ...
Your ranking is very much on the same page as mine would have been, with the exception that my number one has always been ...Sounds Like This : that live-in-The-studio feel and those songs (especially Good Day and Wings) are unsurpassable! Tab In The Ocean comes at number 2 and Remember The Future follows for me.
One should also mention the truly magnificent EP Unidentified Flying Abstract, also recorded live in the studio at Chipping Norton, with some tracks first released on the first edition of Sunday Night At The London Roundhouse and later the whole session released separately.
Once again, thanks for this show and keep up the good work !
Nektar wad a fantastic band.
What I learned from this is you are a very patient man. After watching this Nektar segment, I went back and listened to all of the “post Recycled” albums. I couldn’t get past the first few tracks of a needle drop. I give you a lot of credit for putting in the time to listen to all of this music. Cheers!

Love to see some Nektar on here!!!!
Thank you Pete. Seeing them the end of October 2021 at Bearsville Woodstock and needed to get back up to speed with the catalog. Saw them at the Beacon Theater in NYC in 1976 front row.

Great chat (with minor inaccuracies regarding Recycled Side Two ... just 4 tracks ... 3 ordinary ones followed by the magnificent It's All over Now). Anyway, my order for the first 6 studio albums:
1. Journey to the Centre of the eye
1. Tab in The Ocean
1. Sounds Like This
4. Remember The Future
5. Recycled
6. Down to Earth.
Regarding the live stuff...
1. Live at the Roundhouse
2. Live in New York
3. Greatest Hits Live
4. Fortified
5. Door to the Future (Part 1) ... what happened to more in the series?
And finally big thanks to Roye for being one of the great forces during my largely wretched childhood and for providing music I still love. Nice guy, much missed.
First. Great band. My favorite are "Tab" and "Remember the Furture". When I got "Remember" I algo got Grobschnitt's "Rockpommel´s Land" . Another great "Close to the Edge" album.
Pete thanks a lot for turning me on to all these lesser known 70's prog bands. A lot of great stuff there.
I have " Remember the Future" and " Tab in the Ocean" but sounds like i need to add " Sounds like This" and Recycled". Thanks for your recommendations and keeping me broke!😎
Get "Recycled" first.
@@ayeatropoulos1 actually I'd go with "Down to Earth" before "Recycled". It's probably the best album of those early, mid-seventies days. IMHO.
@@rick6582CNCMedicalParts I was there too
Recycled is one of the best prog rock albums of all time. It is the last one they did with the original lineup. But it also includes Larry Fast on synthesizers and he really makes his mark on this record . It came out in 1975 and it is a more aggressive and electronic sounding album than their previous ones were. The earlier ones were more laid back and dreamy while Recycled was moving more towards a harder edge. Kind of like Yes did with Relayer the year before. Their best album by far IMO.
I wrote my comment before I watched the video. I see Pete also compared Recycled to Relayer. Relayer was a divisive album for some Yes fans. If you like Relayer you might like Recycled.
It's sad that not a lot of people are commenting on this. "Remember the Future" was big with my crowd in High School '74. I followed them until Roye left, although I did like "Magic is a Child". I have bought a couple of their albums after the reunion in the early oughts, but they didn't seem to have that Nektar mystique anymore, maybe I'll look into a couple of albums you have mentioned here. Thanks Pete for doing this. R.I.P. Roye Albrighton.
The first records are excellent, and so is Magic Is a Child record, through it seems to get less attention.
@@urbangustafsson8067 Yeah, "Magic is a Child" is good, but with Roye gone, it's got kind of a different vibe to it, doesn't have his signature guitar sound...that upbeat strumming that let's you know that "Roye is in the house!"
The "Mighty" Groundhogs !!! Another great band that many people do not know.
Is there any chance of a Babe Ruth ranking video?
or Birth Control?

@@ayeatropoulos1 Η συναυλία του '87. Ναι, φυσικά!
I'm glad to see this band get the recognition they deserve, here. I was a big fan in High School, and my fandom continued back in the UK, where I was lucky enough to see their reunion gig at the Astoria Theatre, complete with Larry Fast. That was a very special night. Albrighton was a criminally underrated guitarist, able to make his guitar absolutely sing like an angel and roar like a demon, while Moore, with his fluid, resonant bass lines, was one of the best bassists around, right up there with Chris Squire, IMO. It was a rare band that, apart from Albrighton, didn't give itself over to solos - even Ron Howden, the drummer, only got one brief solo on the "Sounds Like This" album, and Taff Freeman's keyboards mostly supplied funky texture (his playing on "Nellie the Elephant" is a delight) without the virtuoso flashiness that most prog bands brought. This might have something to do with the fact that their songs came from prolonged jams (this, if I remember correctly, they mention in the liner notes to Sounds Like This, which was created from four days of jamming together).
Personally, I thought that "The Prodigal Son" was a far better return than it had any right to be, and would put Remember the Future at the top, closely followed by Down to Earth and Recycled. I liked A Tab in the Ocean (and had to do with the Larry Fast-produced US version for about 20 years, until the excellent CD re-release) but it does feel embryonic and very, very much of its time - a bit flakey, a bit spacey with a tinge of hard rock. It's all good, but I feel they got better as they matured. I even managed to see the David Nelson version play Chicago in 1977 (a triple bill with Lake and City Boy!) and he was good but...he was no Albrighton.
In 1973 Nectar sold out four nights at Kiel auditorium in St Louis Missouri. Kshe radio 95. The second FM radio station in America.
Yes, Nektar was big in St. Louis in 1973-74, especially. After Recycled, the band lost a lot of its momentum, and Roye's leaving the band really hurt. Nektar was never quite the same, although the band in the 2000s did have several flashes of the old brilliance. Obviously, the talent was still there with perhaps the luck, marketing and wherewithal missing. To me, Albrighton was the driving force and his absence is just too great to overcome.
Remember the Future and Magic is a Child are my favorites. Nice list, Pete!
Tab in the ocean is the all time greatest Nektar release! Their live renditions on the live in New York and the live at the roundhouse albums are mind blowing!!
Great choices.
One of my favorite concerts was Nektar on the Recycled tour, paired with Wishbone Ash touring There's the Rub. There was a small Spinal Tap moment: The smoke machine malfunctioned and the hockey rink started filling up with smoke.
I was just thinking of this band today and was watching some prog videos on the channel!
Nektar the British band that most people think are German but are liked by almost everyone. One of my favorites! Pete wearing a very nice shirt without a band name for a pleasant change of scenery.
Pete, I love it. You review all the lp's and groups I grew up with. (I'm 71) I look up and old lp and you sometimes show up in the videos. Love it!!!
Brilliant band so many classic and underated albums.
1. A Tab In The Ocean
2. Remember The Future
3. Journey To The Centre Of The Eye
4. ...Sounds Like This
5. Down To Earth
6. Recycled
7. The Other Side, fantastic album from 2019
8. Evolution
9. Book Of Days
10.Time Machine
11.Man In The Moon
12. A Spoonful Of Time
13. The Prodigal Son
14. Magic Is A Child
Agree.
THE OTHER SIDE is a masterpiece.
Remember the Future and Down to Earth are my faves, followed by A Tab in the Ocean, and Sounds Like This. Great to see them getting some love / recognition.
The Other Side is awesome. I found out about it on Sea of Tranquility . Thanks Pete...
Nektar is I would say a harder version of Pink Floyd with King Crimson thrown in.
Yellowish King Floyd
Thanks Pete, great analysis, i will probably buy some from Itunes, love this type of jamming or improv, Whatcha Gonna Do, love that blues shuffle rocking tune, and or Good Day,wicked.
Thank you for your ranking the studio albums of: Nektar. 🎤🎸🎵🥁
Steve Harris was a Nektar fan - Iron Maiden did a pretty tidy cover of King of Twilight as a b-side of one of their singles. They also covered Jethro Tull's Cross Eyed Mary.
Bruce sang Mary an octave too high though. He spoils the song, I think.
Funny I heard the Maiden version first but I had Recycled for years, and then I bought a few more Nektar albums and then to my surprise 😲! One of those ah-ha moments I'll always remember from Tab.
I'm an Iron Maiden fan anyway but the cover of "King Of Twilight" was excellent - a good tribute to the original and it made me think that Iron Maiden are very prog-influenced.
I only discovered this band a few months ago, and they are slowly becoming one of my favorite bands ever. Only heard the first 6 so far, I would rank them like this:
1. Remember The Future
2. Recycled
3. A Tab In The Ocean
4. Sounds Like This
5. Down To Earth
6. Journey To The Center Of The Eye.
Thank you Pete ! Great ranking of a great band. I have to go with Remember the Future as my number 1, a true masterpiece. All there stuff is amazing.
1. Recycled
2. A tab in the ocean
3. Journey to the centre of the eye
Great to hear you will do Arena.
My 3 exactly.
Journey is either my Number 1 or Number 2 Favourite album of all time. Every second is perfect. Cant decide If The Dark Side of The Moon is my favourite or this.
thanx pete! what a cool idea to wear a honey- coloured shirt for the nektar ranking :)
You know what, that totally wasn't planned and it never even crossed my mind! LOL
One of my favourite bands of all time. My favourite albums are Magic is a child, Recycled and Remember the future. But they never made what could be called a really a bad album.
Fun fact: Nektar was actor Sherman Hemsleys (George Jefferson) favorite band.
Yep, and he was a big Gentle Giant fan as well!
@@seaoftranquilityprog Isn't that something Pete? When I first heard that Sherman was a groovy, prog rock loving hippy type, I was amused for the remainder of the evening. Hard to imagine when you consider the aggressive, provocative persona of the legendary George Jefferson character. Nice show Pete. I watched your Eloy rankings too. The only gripe I had with either is that I rank Eloys Metromania firmly in my top ten. Oh well, you can't cover everything in a UA-cam podcast. Keep on rocking friend.
Big fan for a while. I've seen them three times.

Cool band, definitely underrated. My faves have always been: "A Tab In The Ocean", "Recycled" and "Sounds Like This". I also love Bob Calvert's cameo on "Down To Earth" in full Captain Lockheed voice! Good job, Pete, and am also eagerly anticipating a Groundhogs/TS McPhee show.
Ah you did do Nektar!!!! I got into this great band this year. Love their first 6 albums. Interested how you ranked them....I think Recycled, Remember The Future and Down To Earth are masterpieces....very overlooked. I love them more than Yes for example already. I'm hesitant to check out later stuff....by Nektar
Yeah they have split a bit like UB40... And one of my faves Faust....both sides still tour (met two founding members at a gig in hackney couple of years ago....was a tiny bit starstruck admittedly...☺️)
I just ran into this today. The first I heard of Nektar was when a local radio station start playing 'Remember the Future, Pt. 2 regularly in 1973. Found the first 2 used pretty quickly but 'Sounds Like This' took years to run down. Got the new issues as they came out. Probably my favorite prog group from the 70's.
Splendid ranking Pete,I've just recently got into Nektar and have been super curious and your top 3 is right on par with my ranking. Great underrated band for sure.
Okay Pete you turned me onto Hawkwind...and now Nektar! I am getting so many awesome new bands to listen to from your channel! Thanks
R.I.P. Nektar Drummer Ron Howden :(
First ever concert I went to; Nektar, Man and Zoppo Trump in the Westfalenhalle, Dortmund. Must have been 1972. We somehow managed to get backstage and Roy Albrighton gave me his plectrum, but wouldn't let me play on his Les Paul. A year or so later they played there again and this time he let me play his white semi-accoustic... great guy and my hero at that time.
Back in 1975, a friend (Kevin Johnson) introduced me to Journey To The Centre Of The Eye by the band Nektar. I was instantly a fan. I started buying more Nektar: Remember The Future, and Sounds Like This. Back in 1976, Nektar played at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. I bought a $15 ticket that put me well in the back seating. As I arrived at the venue, I noticed that there were Leaflets posted all over the place that stated "If you don't want to be searched while entering, you may receive a full reimbursement" - But, you had to answer why you wanted your money back. So I told them that I did not want to be searched. I sold my ticket back. Not to fear, my friend had won TWO tickets so he gave one of them to me! These seats were in front of Mick Brockett! He managed the Liquid Lights. The seats were located in the CENTER of ROW 4! BTW, this was all of the founding members! What a show!
thanks Pete, this is a band that has come on for me. maybe my favorite new band for me. I have three of these at the moment . So i really appreciate your insight it will help me with my collection
Also, I should have said that 'recycling' was not a big thing in 1975 ... in fact the drive to systematic recycling of waste in the UK didn't take off until the 1990s at the earliest - probably a twenty-first century phenomenon. This makes their album prescient and the band deserves credit for that, I think.
First concert, around 75 76, Pavlovs Dog opened, Capitol Theater Passaic NJ. Explosion at end of show was ear shattering !
"A Tab in the Ocean" was my favorite Nektar album until I discovered "Remember the Future." The latter's nostalgic guitar riffs strike a unique chord with me (sorry). There's something about the way certain songs evoke a sense of nostalgia that is hard to articulate, but "Remember the Future" exemplifies this phenomenon perfectly.
Wow, all I’ve ever heard is the album released in 2019, which I really enjoyed. I’ve obviously got a lot of catching up to do!
I'm with you tell me the ocean was an incredibly awesome album. I've had that back when I was a late teens early 20s maybe I still listen to this day. Enjoy listening to anytime.
PETE !!! THANKS TO YOU I DISCOVERED THIS MAGNIFICENT BAND AND I PURCHASED "REMEMBER THE FUTURE". THEN I WATCHED THIS VIDEO AND WENTED UP WITH "A TAB IN THE OCEAN". NOW I'M GOING TO ENCOURAGE WITH "RECYCLED". I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO THEM !!! GREETINGS FROM BUENOS AIRES. RAFAEL
Tastes Like Music brought me here.
Side 1 of Recycled appeared in their Obscure 70’s Songs list and it blew me away this morning.
I would like to invest in this band ASAP! 😎
Hey Pete! This is a great rundown of Nektar's albums. Love your videos in general! I've been meaning to ask you if you're familiar with these other prog bands. I've been digging into their music lately: Lethe (1981, Dutch) Cathedral "Stained Glass Stories (1978, New York) Far East Family Band (Japan). Check these guys out if you're not already familiar! Cheers. -John
Does Pete know? Iron Maiden covered "King of Twilight" as a b-side on the 1984 single "Aces High".
I never really checked out Nektar but I will now.
Groundhogs!! Can't wait
Massively Underrated and mostly known by us people really into Classic Prog !!!

1b, Remember the Future
2, Journey to the Center of the Eye
3, Recycled
4, Sounds Like This
The rest ..... well I just listen to these and the Live ones and Live DVDs !! : )
Great stuff . Always enjoyable....
Recycled really gets me. Important themes that really resonate now, touching on renewable energy and bio-sustainability etc. Love the concept and feel of the whole album and the musicianship and epic soaring melodies are freakin stellar.
Ooooh! I am looking forward to seeing thE groundhogs show!! Great list Pete!
1. Remember The Future (Masterpiece)
2. A Tab In The Ocean (Masterpiece)
3. Recycled (Almost Masterpiece)
4. Journey To The Center of The Earth (Excellent)
5. Down To Earth ( Really Good Concept Album and Cover Art Like the previous albums)
6. Sounds Like This ( Flawed but still Really Good)
7. Magic Is A Child ( Good Poppy but still good)
All the other albums I only like certain songs from each album but that's about it.
I think "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" was Rick Wakeman : ) Just kiddin' everyone knows what you meant.
@@mattmiller2761 sorry yes I meant Eye and that is another excellent album. Next topic perhaps? Bands Solo albums?
Oooo, as a lifetime fan of Nektar, getting old sucks...New Nektar..sounds awesome....
Agree with the rankings. "A Tab In the Ocean" is my favorite. I too thought they were a German band for many years.
Watch out for early CD pressings of "Remember the Future". A different mix with guitar work missing. Proper mix released many years later.
Hi Dave Tab is just epic, especially Desolation Valley my fave track of all. I have the early Bellaphon CD of Remember with the missing parts.
I was into them early on so bought Down to earth when it came out then saw the tour. I had purchased Journey and Sounds second hand..
Hello Dave and Keith! If you or any other Nektar fans are interested, the " definitive " versions of the early Nektar material, on CD at least, can be found on Eclectic Discs/Dream Nebula Recordings. I actually researched this and found out that the band were finally able to access their own first generation master tapes and do proper releases. All other versions including the Bellaphon
versions used poor quality copies of the master tapes and added extra reverb to some of the albums which the band had nothing to do with. I hope this helps and, stay safe and enjoy!
@@johngiummarra8983 Hi John. i have all the Eclectic CDs too. as well as the Bellaphon Remember the Future and Tab in the Ocean. I also have all the vinyl from back in the seventies from when I bought TITO in 1973, I also saw them on the Down to Earth tour in 1974..
TAB hasn't sunk in quite yet....but I will be listening to Nektar for years to come...
Saw them in 74 at the Tower Theater outside of Philadelphia. The were doing Recycled.. Awesome show blew everybody away. Also saw a more bare bones show from them when Roy was playing with them at the Sellersville Theater 4 years ago
Have loved this band for many years, &, got to see Nektar earlier this year live at the Wildey Theater in Edwardsville, Ill. just before this whole pandemic thing hit. Was a pretty cool show.....
Really happy to see "A Tab In The Ocean" getting some love here, I've been telling people for years that it is every bit as good as "Remember The Future" . I would probably rank "Recycled" & "Down To Earth" ahead of "Sounds Like This", but those first 6 Nektar albums are all essential stuff....
I always enjoy your reviews Pete but it seems to me you could have mentioned a little more about Moes' contributions to the band. His basslines were musical and powerful and a huge part of the bands sound, especially on the releases Remember The Future, Tab In The Ocean & Down To Earth. Just an observation, great work as usual!
I thought Down To Earth was genius. It's the album that got me into them in serious way. Great album. The low base on That's Life omg....I do feel that and Recycled are slightly greater than you suggest (but that's just my bias of course). Love em.
My Top 5
1. Recycled
2. A Tab In The Ocean
3. ...Sounds Like This
4. Remember The Future
5. Magic Is A Child

I haven't heard any albums past Evolution but my top three have always been A Tab in the Ocean, Remember the Future and Recycled. I'd like to mention that Saturday Night at the London Roundhouse (the expanded version) is an outstanding live album. I think it's on par with any of the best Deep Purple live albums.
I never agree with these album ranking videos, but I agree with this from start to finish.
One of favourite bands from back in the seventies. I bought Tab in the Ocean around 1973 and saw them in 1974 on Down to earth tour in Redruth cinema in Cornwall. Probably 150 there. Here are my top 6 which I have on vinyl and CD too.
1. A Tab in the Ocean 2. Remember the Future 3. Journey to the Centre of the Eye 4. Sounds Like This 5. Down to Earth 6. Recycled. Those as Pete says are the core albums the rest don't really do a lot for me but have their moments.
A tab in the Ocean is magnificent!!🌠🌟
How about a ranking of the albums from Manfred Mann's Earth Band Pete?

Nektar is a great band that rarely gets mentioned.
