yeah but not SIX turnovers. that would be forgivable if she was averaging 12 assists. 7.8 assists and 5.8 turnovers is NOT good.
it's like averaging 20 points while shooting 30% from the field and saying "oh but shooters will average lower field goal percentages"

Turnovers should also go to the person the player is passing to. Some turnovers are the players total fault but when Caitlin passes to a teammate and that teammate doesn't expect it or knows how to catch the ball, that player should at least get a half turnover. The problem with the Fever is they aren't used to playing with a dynamite player and some of the Fever players just don't know how to pass the ball.

Caitlin Clark ( GUARD ) season stats average so far 16.8 (PTS ), 7.8 ( AST rank 1st ) , 88.9 (FT % rank 6th ) , 6.0 ( REB rank 18th ), 1.4 ( STL ) , 5.5 ( TO ) even with the turnovers CC is leading the ENTIRE WNBA in points generated at 713 very impressive just by itself. Angel Reese (FORWARD ) 13.8 (PTS ), 1.9 ( AST rank 54th ) , 11.9 ( REB rank 1st ) , 1.5 ( STL ) , 1.8 ( TO ). ( CC ast 7.4 rank 2nd to Reese 1.9 ast rank 54th / Reese 11.9 reb rank 1st to CC 6.0 rank 18th ) Angel Reese is not a team player she is all about herself and the stats most of her boards are from her missing her own shots if she only would pass to her teammates she would probably accumulate a reasonable amount of assists to help her team. Caitlin Clark on the other hand shows lots of diversity and has great overall court awareness not to mention she is outstanding in her passing CC is a better team leader spreads the ball around all her many assist prove that point and at the same time even though she leads in turnovers she also leads the ENTIRE LEAGUE in Most points generated. Caitlin is a high risk passer. That's why you see her do some incredible passing. That type of passing will lean toward high turnovers. I don't have a issue with it as long as it doesn't cost them the win. Her assist to turnover ratio is 1.41 . Boston said, of Caitlin passing is coming so you best be ready for it. Didn't Lebron lead the NBA in turnovers? Westbrook was 2nd. John Stockton was 4th. Great passers have turnovers; it comes with the territory. Her assists have skyrocketed because she and her teammates are more insync. She has 194 assitst with 15 games remaining, so she will shatter the rookie record for assists and come close to the overall record set at 314. The Fever are now a team to be reckoned with because to Caitlyn Clark.

CC had a legendary turnover yesterday. It was a bad stretch where CC could not get anyone to run or screen for her. They had not even gotten into any type of offensive play.

  • @GOLDKW-bl4gp

Historically turnovers account for somewhere slightly above 1 point per turnover. Assist accounts for 2 or 3 points per assist. Turnovers are pretty much similar to your FG%. A bad turnover is one in your backcourt. A better turnover is in the front court where your defense can recover. These are the ones CC gets.

Want to put a fine point on this. There are multiple factors. She is sloppy at times. Keep in mind, knock on wood, she has removed one factor. Getting stripped. ☑️ Now, one that is not mentioned, and she could fix this one with some work. She looks right at her teammate when she makes passes often, usually when making a bounce pass. Makes it very easy to get a hand on it. She is sloppy at times, lackadaisical if you will. Could tighten that up pretty easily. Now for the rest. Risk reward. If she all but eliminated the others, then her fans would not scrutinize the passes she tries to fit into impossible spaces because she has no peer in this league. Dropped passes are part of this as well the league needs better statisticians. The last thing is the tear she has been on, where the shear number of assists, gives her a differential to the plus side that is greater than almost every player in the leagues raw assist numbers. I think that covers it. 👌☑️😎 JP

It just doesn't matter, the important number is team turnovers. It doesnt matter as much in the WNBA. THERE are more unforced errors and missed shots so less points from turnovers. One game she was directly responisible for 60 points of the teams 84 points! Shes leading the league in created points, points scored + points from assists. It isnt just TOs vs assists. Its points from assists vs points given up from turns overs. Some of her assists are worth 3 points, many of her turnovers yield 0 points. If the agressive style offense is about the same team turnovers as a slower paced offense what difference does it make how those tirnovers are spread around, 1 player or six? 15 team turnovers are 15 team turnovers, but the highly aggressive, take chances offense creates more points. Last I looked, before the coach changed her position, they were 3rd in the league in scoring (now 5th) and about average in turnovers, (less then or within 1 team turnover a game of 8 teams) Caitlin's stlye is worth much more than 1 extra team turnover.

Turnovers in basketball must be measured by their importance. At what point in the match and where on the pitch? Because unlike assists, not all of them lead to a change in the result. BTW Yesterday, Kahleah Cooper lost one more ball than CC, and only one less was lost for Kelsey Plum.

More then half are passes her teammates have never seen before. As such they are fumbled and turned-over. Opponents watch film and see these passes and try to get a tell on Clark. But Clark's IQ is so high, a certain pass will not always come from the same angle. Those turnovers, while not optimal, will be future assists and more headaches for other teams.

This doesn’t get mentioned as much as I think it should, but everything she’s doing is impressive on its own, and when you factor in that, she’s doing so with the highest defensive pressure of any player in the league, not any rookie in the league, but any player in the league, it just becomes more impressive.
