i tried spraying that stuff on my 1969 kasuga mij bass...it sorta worked...got the pots turning. Still some weird wiring thing going on...white signal going to the tip, black on the sleeve part of the jack...could be a grounding issue with the star washer thats in this old guitar. i'm gonna have to take my fender mex p bass apart and see they do it there. its like just crackles when you plug the lead, you can get the thing to stop if i hold the lead where it goes into the jack...my hand become ground..it must be backwards or the ground wire coming out the body ain't actually grounded...any clues my man. i tell ya what isn't an option...paying money to see a guitar tech...nah uhh...i gotta learn this @#$! once and for all.
Definitely sounds like a loose wire or connection. Everytime I have an issue like that it's always something dumb simple. Grounds can be a pain in the ass sometimes.
