Meet Assistant Professor Amani Altarawneh

Dr. Amani Altarawneh - one of nine new faculty members in Tennessee Tech’s Department of Computer Science - teaches data structures and analysis of algorithms.
She was drawn to Tennessee Tech’s reputation for strong computer science programs and vibrant academic community. “I’m particularly excited about engaging with students, sharing knowledge and contributing to their growth and success in the field of computer science.”
As the field of computer science rapidly evolves, Dr. Altarawneh looks forward to helping students master the fundamentals - including algorithms, data structures, programming languages and software engineering principles - so they will have a strong grasp of foundational concepts. “These fundamentals form the basis for your entire career. At the same time, I encourage students to stay up to date with the latest technologies, programming languages, frameworks and trends to remain competitive.”
