Is this the 2nd generation Apple Watch SE the best watch for most people? The Apple watch SE 2 cuts out some fringe health features like ECG while maintaining the same powerful chipset, and making few compromises.

Should most people just get this instead of the Watch 8 or Ultra?

Thanks Mike tell me more .
Can you stream spotify on cellular without your phone?? thanks!
@@treeland5162 Yes you can!

I have a question, is th SE 2nd gen has the new style keyboard or not? It is critical for me because I want to get the eSim version
Received an Apple Watch SE 2 last week. I’m 76, was a little confused with my SE2 until I found your video on YT. Thank you, thank you thank you, life is good again for mr and my SE2.
I just upgraded from a series 3 to a SE 2nd gen and I love it , I had my series 3 for roughly 4 years I noticed the battery was needing to be charged more often.
After going from a Series 3 to the SE I’m gobsmacked! Better display, faster and bigger screen. Finally have those watch faces I’ve had to use 3rd party apps to get. Don’t care about any of the missing features - AOD (I have theatre mode on anyway), EKG & temp sensor are not important. Very happy with it.
I currently have Series 3 too and thinking of buying the SE 2!
Thinking about doing the same :)
dhang ka spelling likhne ko nahi aata not needed bolta hey
@UNDEFINED127 It's the same thing but with the crash detection feature and a slightly better chip (the thing is that it's a watch so the chip really doesn't matter).
Series 4. Thinking of changing myseld.
I got my se 2 fee days ago …works great and happy i saved some bucks and didnt go for series 8..charging speed is more than good enough not missing out on any gimmick features
I loved your intro to the SE. This is my first Apple watch and put away my expensive luxury watch I've had for 30 years...no regrets. It works seamlessly with my Iphone.
My wife and I got a deal on two SE watches (40mm & 44mm). We appreciate the detailed review. Awesome you weren’t trying to hype up the watch or pitch to buy the 7, 8 or Ultra. Keep up the channel. You have a new subscriber!
I really appreciated this review. You gave the perfect amount of information for someone that didn’t know what they actually wanted/needed. You saved me a lot of money in my decision to go with the SE. Thanks man!
So glad you found the video helpful!
Just went out and bought two of these watches for my wife and myself. We are both in our Sixties and the fall detection and aesthetics are so much better than the crap supplied by government agencies. Thanks mate.
Senior also, and just bought one for fall/accident detection…😊
I ride a motorcycle & don’t want to upgrade my phone yet so the crash detection is a big selling point for me
Buy this!!! Thank you Apple! This amazing watch took over...vibrated and verified my hard fall , offered to call 911 and alert my adult children w text maps. All this went on while I was still flat on the sidewalk catching my breath@@Joan-kl9qh
I traded in my apple watch series 5 for the 2nd gen SE and honestly I love this watch mainly because well the screen is now clear of scratches and the battery life is able to last me a proper full day. I was thinking about getting the new airpods pro 2nd gens but since I just bought the Sony Linkbuds S, I don't really need a new pair of earbuds so why not upgrade the watch and I was closeby and apple store so it was tempting. The only things I do miss is the AOD and the ECG feature but its not really necessary for me and I won't die because I don't have it. If apple does a rounded design or changes the look of the apple watch next year or maybe in 2-3 years I'll upgrade again. But props to apple for making a budget version of the apple watch!
The best review on the SE I think I've seen. I appreciate the many shots of the watch itself, and not just you focusing the camera on yourself as a lot of the other reviews I've seen do.
As a person who very hesitant on buying Apple Watch due to thinking I’ll never use one or not enough. This probably be great as a starting out since I don’t need allot of extra features I just want it to just work like Apple Pay without having to take my phone out. I probably get the gps one since add cellular for it probably be a a headache so as long I can have my phone on me while wearing it I don’t see a issue.
Picked up my first Apple Watch yesterday - Series 8. I got it mainly for the dustproofing and "fast charging." I think I overestimated the need for the dustproofing and didn't realize the fast-charging only applied to using the higher wattage charging brick - which is more of a hassle than a convenience. I think I'm going to go exchange it today and get some cash back.
Maybe I'm ignorant but I don't see how the SE can be water resistant but not dust resistant...
Unlucky you wasted your money on Apple shit
@John Choo jl 2 times more expensive and the same computer chip
@@lev_fpv while the series 8 has way more features and more precise sensors
@@lev_fpv the se is still nice though
Thinking of getting my first Apple and I’m glad I came across this video..might as well get it. Explained it all well, and thnx for the honesty and advices
SE is definitely the best bang for the buck. All I use it for is heart rate, filling the rings and notifications.
I have SE and have been very happy with. And it is cellular. My cell phone froze a couple times and so thankful I have a cellular Apple Watch.
I got an Apple Watch SE back in early April 2022 in space grey at Target. I was using a refurbished Apple Watch series 2 for almost 2 years. I even have a series 1,too. I got the SE for this one app for my vehicle to used to start it up. I got the smaller screen one so that I can used my watch bands for it. It has been a little bit over 7 months of using it.
Loved this review, best one I’ve seen in a while. I have a series 4 and it’s still going strong but would definitely get this series if it ever dies on me. Really liked all the details you shared.
I just ordered my first Apple Watch se2. It will do everything I need, and if I go for days on a bush walk I will use a different watch more suited to that, more robust and longer battery life, but for everyday use, fitness tracking, heart rate and other basics, this watch is all I need. The non cellular is perfect as I do take my phone with me everywhere, and if I want a peaceful walk, it's nice to not have interruptions from calls and texts on my wrist, when I leave the phone at home. Thanks for a great review. Can't wait to get moving with it. Watching from Tasmania 😊
I purchased this as my first Apple Watch today! I've been watching reviews and reading comparisons, and this watch is more than enough for what I want it for. It'll fit in well with my thoroughly Apple ecosystem. I'm excited to get it and pleased with the price. Thanks for the review, Mike!
Same here I purchased at bestbuy 40mm gps+ cellular for $129. Perfect smartwatch for the money.
@@cristianbaltasarguzmanaval9252 wow Congratulations
Worst thing you can do is watch reviews AFTER you buy it because you risk being brainwashed into hating it
@@baffle6424 well said reviews should not be taken so serious .. we have to be connected well to what we chosen to use
The brief guide you gave for people new to apple watch was so helpful! Awesome thing to include!
What a beautiful video. You explained every little part of the watch in detail. I'm glad that I came across this video! Great job Mike! 👍🏻
Great review Mike. There is so much useful information you pack in your reviews. I look at this and I look at the reviews by the so called "Top Tech UA-camrs" and while they focus on production value and all the jazz, your videos have more useful and pertinent information.
Excellent and informative. Everything I needed to know, without having to read 5 articles about the watch. Thanks for this, Mike.
Thank you for the review, this really helped
Dude that was a very good informative video 👍🏼
My old apple watch series 2 gave up on me so I'm looking to buy a new one but I can't afford the series 8, but this one looks great! It has everything I need. Your review is great!
Was going to get the 40 mm SE with the Milanese bracelet. Tried the 7 with a silicon strap and that suited my wrist fine. However...when trying the 40mm with the Milanese bracelet, I couldn't get my hand through. Bought the 44 mm with the Milanese. Glad I decided to try in store as opposed to buying on line.
I just got my Apple Watch SE gen 2 yesterday and I love it so much its perfect for me and I’m very happy with it
Excellent and on point review!
Thank you for the review, was thinking about getting one.
I did my research and ordered this watch. Glad to save $$$
Outstanding review! Just purchased one of these for my son, and now I know I absolutely made the right choice. Thanks!!
Thanks for making this helpful and informative video
I got mine earlier today and I'm so happy. ❤It's my first apple watch.
I just bought one and now beginning the researching process. I like the gamble.
I saw a test pitting the SE to an EEG based sleep tracker and it was one of the most accurate models easily eclipsing most other smart watches on the market and beating the Apple watch 7. For the price probably the best smart watch for sleep tracking.
Great review!
The sleep analysis is actually better compared to watch 8, you need to test them side by side more. Also not sure where the 150$ difference you mention comes from. In most countries, the price difference is 2-3x. GSMarena lists SE at 250 and watch 8 at 850 euros.
Just got my first apple watch SE 2 and im very excited, thanks bro!
Its nice that you tested the accuracy of the “medical features” since most of the review vids dont do this. Keep this up 🙂
Bought one today as my first apple watch and it exceeded my expectations. It does most of the things I need on a smartwatch.
Did you get cellular
@@roccopallotta1271 just the GPS version

I am looking to buy my first Apple Watch. I don’t need the best one like series 7 or 8 I guess.
I think this one could be the one for me. What do you think and recommend? Appreciate it a lot.
For me coming from a series 3 the SE 2 is amazing.
We just got ours the se 2 our first Apple Watch , has enough frills and goes great with our 13 pro 13 pro max ..waiting on our cases so we can wear them regularly and see how it works with everyday use
Nice review.
I need to buy this soon.
Thinking of buying this as my first smart watch, i've was mostly a g-shock person till now who didnt care about where I chuck my hand in, but slowly been inclining towards the apple watch for use with my iPhone 13 for the notifs and stuff
I just bought this watch. My current apple watch is from 2018 so this one is great for me! Great review! Thanks!!
The price difference between the SE and S8 in Canada is almost $300 after tax. You could almost buy 2 SE's for one S8, and almost 3 for one Ultra.
I got the ultra and smh for real. It was an impulsive buy.
@@edenc.m4576 The Ultra is actually a great value for it's price point, but it's definitely not the best fit for everyone.
@@davedvdy4946 wouldn’t call it “value” it’s 1000 cad
Nice review thank you!😇
I'm so glad you made this, I'm buying this for chirstmas, and they don't have nothing accept series 8! So thanks so much and I really like this watch, also it'll help me with my exams more... SHHH!
sounds like a perfect watch for me, a healthy teen with no care how it looks, thanks for the review Mike!

I was thinking between the series 7 and the se 1, I got the series 7 because of the blood oxygen and the bigger screen
Beautifully summarized, thank you
Have the 44 mm. Battery 2 days easy. Workouts and daily use. Verry happy!
I’ve been using Fitbit charge watches for years and I’m debating on switching to Apple Watch im trying to decide between the SE2 and the 8
Thanks Mike for the great review! Can you make a short review of this SE watch for swimming? Like what details does it capture while swimming. Thanks
WOWWWW! I had NO IDEA they released another SE watch! I watched a video last night and the guy was saying he bought his daughters SE watches, and I thought he was referring to the original SE watch, which is what I have. 😊 Apple definitely isn’t showing this one love all in favor of the Series 8 with the bells and whistles. Thanks for this video!!
Great review! Keep them coming.
Just got my very first Apple Watch. Finally made the switch from my Fitbit which I loved. Any tips for fitness apps?
I picked up the SE 2 on a Black Friday with Apple Care for $199 so I was thrilled! I love it, not missing some of the health vitals. My only issue is without having the GPS, I've needed my iPhone 12 Max Pro to pair for GPS. Other than that... totally great bang for the buck!
Where did you buy it
@@hazadoor ohio
On the Apple site it say it has GPS?
Thx u. An honest review.
Of all the watches out there, I think the SE 2 compares most to the Fitbit Versa smartwatch. The hardware is very similar, as well as most of the software. I went from a Fitbit Versa 3 to an Apple Watch SE 2 and am very impressed with the overall quality and performance of the SE. My only complaint is the battery life and the charging speeds of the SE, in which the Fitbit beats Apple by a lot. Still a great watch, tho.
A steal of a deal tbh im looking forward to trying my watch but its on order rn
Just got this watch and it works great for my needs.
Mike, do you wear an Apple Watch on your daily basis? If so, which one? Good review!
Just got a Apple Watch SE 2 for Christmas, amazing
I just ordered this for tracking my running
Apple Watch is so common. I don’t care what anyone else thinks of my Apple Watch; I rarely think about it myself. Like any other watch it’s been a part of my day for many years now. I do enjoy when I’m with a group of people who have Apple Watches and we share information about things like fitness or other meta data we have found on the watch and uses for it. It’s common enough and cheap enough that I find myself in these conversations on a fairly regular basis; maybe once a month or a bit less. The main feature I want in an Apple Watch is battery life that lasts for a week with regular use. Even if they had to strip back a bunch of features I just want the watch for time, reminders, timers & alarms, and checking my heart rate and step. I do use it for some things like texts and screening phone calls but it’s mainly the “watch” part of it that I use along with reminders.
Super helpful! Just decided to try Apple Watch SE 2 instead of 9. Can you do a video on pros and cons of the different straps please? Thanks so much!
Solid no nonsense review. Big up 👍👍
you earned a subscriber in me. for someone who is looking for his first Apple watch, you gave me the gist of what I'm getting with the Apple Watch SE.
Could you compare the Apple watch SE 2nd generation with watch series 7?
Apple support in my country can’t find out whether the release buttons on here are steel. Nothing about the Ultra and its screws either. Do you know? If not, I would massively appreciate if you can get a reply out of Apple support where you’re located.
I’m allergic to nickel. So steel is a no-go.
Thanks a ton.
Thank you, this video is very informative!
Mike thanks for sharing your insight !😊 Could you add charging experience for first time I watch users ? Can you hotspot instead of getting separate cell number Thanks
I was considering getting the SE2 as my first Apple Watch, but decided to get the non-cellular Nike Series 7 instead. Reasons included always on, dust resistance, non-plastic back and fast charging. I think I made the right decision, even though it was more expensive.
Just ordered the se 2 to replace my series 3 and I’ve never been more excited
I think this is going to be the perfect watch for me! Thanks for the great video!
Great explanation glad I got this watch saved a lot
Question - I just ordered the 40mm se 2nd gen watch. Previously I had the 42mm series 3 - will my bands for this new one?
Thank you for the great video! Just purchased the watch, right before I saw your video. After your review, now I’m sure it’s going to work for me. Can’t wait for it to be delivered!
I've still got the first one and it works fine. Mine came as part of a combo sale with airpods 2nd gen, ipad 8 and iphone SE for very cheap. So, I only got it because that was a great deal (a little over $650).
Amazing combo deal where did you get it?
You forget to mention 18 hours battery time is pretty big drawback, compare to other watch and fitness tracker. Multiple day use with other fitness watch and sleep tracker without worry about device can run out of battery..
this video was a great help, thank you 🙏🏽 is your SE 2 silver or starlight color?
Wow what a fantastic review!
Do these watches work as ‘Standalone’ devices or do you need to have an iPhone close by at all times for the watch to link to or something? I am looking to ditch the phone.
Thanks !!
overall the speaker is pretty good, i think i‘ll look forward to buying it, thanks for the review!
Hey Mike, I really enjoy your channel. Thanks. So I’m having a difficult decision between the series 7 and getting the new SE I’ve had SE before, but I want the bigger screen. What do you think would be the best choice ?
I think you should buy the Apple Watch 7 if you want a bigger screen but technically both are same except for size it’s depends on your choice
Excellent review. Thank you!
Just got mine yesterday and really love it. I still have my steel series 5 but the SEVis ultra light and perfect for fitness tracking.
That's nice, hope that you have a wonderful time with it, btw how's the battery life?
Do you need an IPhone to use the Apple Watch SE 2?
Yes for sure any model
Great review
budget option is always exciting, like they can just try to upsell you the more expensive one. or an actual real good product!
For my use, the S8 extra features simply don’t worth it… basically use the watch for notifications and Apple Pay… I have a Series 5 and barely use ecg and always-on display… I’ll replace it bc the apple care+ expired last year and I can’t renew it and the battery is not holding on as it used to… I’ll go for SE 2 and save some bucks…
Can you use it and get notifications form far away/2-5 hours form your
IPhone 11 and Apple Watch SE with cellular data?
I would go for this but I want always on display and I think only the series 8 has that not the SE
Thank you so much for this video 👍👍👍👍
Great video. How would you compare SE2 to Series 4? Thanks!!!
