    We enjoy your videos! My brother in law are starting our own little land clearing and lumber company. We own a sawmill already and had a customer approached us and asked if we would clear 3 acres of small saplings and trees for a pasture. I work for a large heavy equipment dealer in SC and brother in is retired. So thank you so much for doing these videos!!! You are great source of information to help guys like us get started thank you very much again!!

This the type of work im wanting to do, i was wanting to get a track loader and forestry mulcher but i still need a small excavator for the larger trees. Would a 10,000 pound excavator be able to clear trees this size? Im guessing i would have to dig at every stump and then push the tree over.

I wouldn't be learning near as much without it. I would enjoy a video with you just talking about what can and can't be done with the different size machines for what type jobs and stuff. I do appreciate the commentary because I'm trying to figure out how to run one of these to clear my own 2.6 acres out which is mostly Post oak and hickory with some burdock and Eastern redbud mixed in. Which makes it a little harder to push the stuff over so I needed to get an idea on how to do it and showing us how to dig around the roots to get the desired results was very helpful and I like the fact that when you tell us something especially if it's technical at all you tell us why it's necessary and how to do it so thank you very much new subscriber here

    I love that excavator, whatever it is.
    I can't wait to get one just like it.
    Obviously it's not a caterpillar so you may want to stalk up common replacement parts so you don't have too much downtime waiting for parts. 😀

    • @WaltWW

      Looks like a Yanmar Vio 80, Either painted over or the decals were removed.

    • @TF856
      @TF856 2 роки тому

      @@WaltWW thinking back I remember he had trouble getting parts from his Yanmar dealer and that made him angry and he took the Yanmar name off of all his equipment! He didn't want to advertise for them anymore.
      The dealer didn't have the parts and couldn't get the parts to him for several weeks while his equipment sat there not making money.
      This is why some tractor owners purchase commonly replaced parts ahead of time. Especially heavy wear items.
      This guy chose not to have those parts in stock ahead of time and it cost him. And that's why he blames the dealership.
      People tend to get spoiled with cat because they can get parts almost instantly or overnight!
      In the past I have hurt said that some dealerships will take parts off a brand new equipment sitting in the yard to sell to people that are in a dire need for parts to keep the customer happy. Not sure which brand or dealership was doing that though.

    I am a recent new subscriber to your channel and have found it to be one of the most informative channels on the subjects covered. I am preparing to clear 60 acres of land that has had the marketable timber harvested. There is 10 acres that has been harvested with the intention of future lot development. The remaining 50 acres was "pattern" harvested where they harvested a 30 foot wide strip and skipped a 30 foot strip and then harvest the next 30 foot strip and so on. The intention is to come back in a few years and harvest the untouched strips. The 50 acres will be the owners "Estate" with a section in the middle graded out and developed for his home and the rest of the property left undeveloped. As you can imagine brush from the harvested sections is everywhere and laying in every direction. They of course left the stumps from the harvested trees, about 6 to 8 inches above the ground. My question is, given the size of the property what would you recommend as the best way to clear the property, forestry mulching or clearing with excavator and dozer? My thoughts are excavator and dozer for efficiency purposes and removal of stumps for development.

    • @DigginLife21
