Second point, regarding draw. I had a snooker champion teach me that by moving by bridge closer than my normal shot I could generate more bottom spin as your natural stroke will cause greater follow through. I can generate a tremendous amount of bottom doing this. Interesting that you coach the opposite. I am sure you are both correct.
I've done all those things some I figured out. Thanks to your video I learn some more like all your videos.

A very good Instructor, Eric Naretto (master PBIA), says to use the same stroke as "force follow" to create good draw. For me, it works excellently. I no longer "pop" the ball with draw shots. It's a diffrent way to think about it.

Sharivari, I learned a lot from your videos and respect your skill and teachings. @2:30 99% of every videos talk about longer stroke and follow through. For me (1.95 m), the cue is too short for a log stroke and the extension runs into the wall on rail shots at most places I shoot. I had to shorten my draw stroke (about 6-8 cm) and can shoot and draw back across the length of the bar table 50% of the time (LOL!) Case and point; A long stroke is not required to get adequate draw for me.

My favorite drill for eliminating that is simply lining up a straight shot and attempting to draw it with as easy of a stroke as possible-no power. Then increasing the distance between the cue ball and object ball.
The result is the self realization that it takes a clean stroke, rather than a powerful stroke, to get the ball to draw well and with accuracy.
Most players as they’re learning, including myself, attempt to overpower these shots at times and power often manifests as a strong grip.
Repeating this drill will give you the muscle memory and correct mindset to avoid that mistake.
But yes-I’ve sent many cue balls off the table trying get that backspin!!!

Great Tips and proactive remedies. Elevating the cue is something that can happen inadvertently . So if your not checking yourself you don't realize your putting unintentional spin on the ball . It can happen on all kinds of shots where you feel a bit awkward or your jammed up with tight playing room and "UP comes the cue ! " Awesome video Sharivari. !

Also the tip makes the cueball jump when playing draw shot,
When I play at varsity league with good tips the cueball never jumps but when I play at the bar with too round tips or uneven tips the cueball jumps, as a matter of fact when playing at the bar I play centre ball and forget about cueball control 😢
i am just coming back to competition , and i have done all of these....just last week in league.....
Excellent instruction and analysis as always. I've been paying close attention to these tips for awhile but still was inconsistent with draw shots. Then I found this and it's the piece I was missing. I seem to miss by a hair constantly. Yes I do all those things.
My biggest mistake that keeps costing me my games, so I’m told, is that I keep picking up a cue stick👍😎
