Pregnancy and FSGS: Laci Weatherford's Story

- Laci Weatherford was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) in 2009, roughly a year after her daughter was born.
After speaking with her nephrologist, she believed having another child 'wasn't in the cards' for her future. However, just before she planned to start harsh medications, she learned she was pregnant again.
She has now been in remission for a several years, but constantly wonders, 'How much longer until I relapse?' It's a race to find a treatment, or a cure, before that day comes.
Thank you for sharing your story. I have FSGS and I want to have kids but I don’t have any right now and my nephrology doctor doesn’t like the idea but they haven’t come right out and said I couldn’t. Thank you so much for this. It gives me hope that one day I could have a kid. This means so much to me
Hey! I have the exact same situation. Have you had a kid? I am not in a good place with my disease, and I am very indecisive. My husband does not want to put my life at risk, but I want to... Its just there are not lots of people who have fsgs, and have a kid. It would not be this hard to accept my disease, if it would not take this chance from me.
I have also same problem but i am 19 years old
I am male
And I am scared that if I get married and make kid
Does that FSGS disease will transfer to my kid or not
you gave me hope this morning.
