Matsuri and the ladies have written the perfect two and a half minute song. And not only is the song amazing, so is the video. Just a heads up, Matsuri and Yukina like watching reaction videos to their songs. I feel like they'll enjoy this reaction 👍
Finally you reached the best Japanese Metal Band. Please do also reactions to their other music videos, the songs are all very different and all awesome. 🤘❤🔥
Most fun song I've heard in years. The singer Yukina, Matsuri, guitar & vocals, and Hettsu, bass have been together since High School. They started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band. SAE, drums is a recent member after going through several male drummers. Matsuri is the song writer with Yukina assisting on lyrics. They have just finish college so we are waiting some great things from them. Their producer is Gaku Taura from the band Crystal Lake. The 2 2 bands I referenced, you will need self belts!!!
Some Japanese bands, old and new. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Break the Wall, Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], DEXCORE [Earthworm], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], TRiDENT [Ambivalent], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINARU [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], JILUKA [Mephisto], BROKEN BY THE SCREAM [Emotion Cross-Counter], LYNCH [Devil], GACHARIC SPIN [Mindset], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], NOKUTO [Life of Desire], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], SAISEIGA [Ride On], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Hypnosis], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], JILUKA [Lluvia], HANABIE [We Love Sweets], A CROWD OF REBELLION [Re:Create of the Re:d], TRiDENT [Spoopy], POLKADOT STINGRAY [any song], MUTANT MONSTERS [Abnormal], BLACKLAB [Insanity], ASTERISM [Church], NOISEMAKER [Hunter or Prey], BiSH [The Night When Stars Twinkle], SCANDAL [A.M.D.K.J.], DEEP GIRL [I kill], Mrs. GREEN APPLE [Inferno], BRATS [Doudatte Yokatta], THE ORAL CIGARETTES [Frenzy Hey Kids!!], GIRUGAMESH [Drain], LiLiHoLi [From Darkness to Light], and many many more...
Your reaction to this song is my favorite! Your facial expressions said it all! It's always fun to see people react to a band for the first time. Your Morgan Freeman ending killed my ass too 🤣
Han-ah-bee-ay = Hanabie = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Hanabie’s album “Girl’s Reform Manifest” is gold from the first note to the last, they are no novelty act, and we are due a second one… Can’t wait. The OGs of this genre are Aldious - they are phenomenal live. There are a LOT more too. Faves right now are Hanabie, Nemophila, Trident, Lonesome_Blue, Band-Maid, LOVEBITES and I’m getting ready for some more Aldious in 2023.
Oh man, you don't know what Joy this reaction brought me. I know I've been pushing for a reaction to this video ever since "Give me Chocolat " got struck down for you guys.
This was my 5-6th song I had heard of HANABIE. I was already sold by this point, but this tune is f*ckin awesome. Honestly the best song I've heard in ages. It's just heavy, cute, metal, chaos. Beautiful!
I love Japan because after many years of ugly and dirty look metalheads musicians we finally got someone like Yukina that is super cute and can blast you with her voice, or other japanese women that hit hard with their gear :D
FINALLY! I love this tune and the band. When I first heard it it blew me away the hairs on my arm stood up and I had to restart it several times, I listen to pretty much all female metal bands from Japan and there are many if you look.
Hanabie are one of the top upcoming metal bands anywhere in the world. They are completely unique, blending metal/hardcore/rap/J-pop/EDM into an incredible sound. You have to hear Neet Game, LCG, Reiwa Dating App Generation and Envy guys 🤟👍
Ha-Nah-Bee-Eh is the correct pronunciation. Reiwa matching generation should be a good next reaction. As for more Japanese bands, I highly recommend Unlucky Morpheus - Black Pentagram Live.
ASTERISM,MARYS BLOOD ,ALDIOUS,NINGEN ISU,BANDMAID,SEIKIMA II,DIR EN GREY,DEVILOOF and it keeps going. Great reaction HANABIE have a full album and ep out all of it awesome
Next up Broken by the Scream 'Sayonara Birthday'. It's like Babymetal on steroids. Or Aldious 'We Are' live 2021 with Maki Oyama. Or Bridear 'Light in the Dark'. Or Destrose 'Starkiller'. Or A Drop of Joker 'Secret Square'. Or Greed Five Eggs 'How to Get'.
check out a band from japan called Paledusk - Area PD this band fuses many styles and as others have mentioned Dexcore - Earthworm, from korea Synsnake - Saturn in a loop and from China InChaos - My Galaxy enjoy :)
the breakdown, IN A BREAKDOWN, and then riff after riff, its freaking insane. and her screaming is heart warming. lol bro wbtbwb is so old. glad to hear it
Priceless reaction! I knew what was coming, coz this song is heavy AF! I CANT WAIT to see Hanabie at Aftershock this October! (along with Baby Metal). Japan is on fire! I just saw Nemophila ( for the 2nd time) this month, and saw Band-Maid and Otoboke Beaver last October. I’ll see Band-Maid again in Houston in May.
Love your vids, just subbed. Hanabie, Nemophilia etc is fire. Japanese metal is great. You need to check out Unlucky Morpheus as well for an awesome but different J-Metal. Their new Black Pentagram live video is off the charts.
'Neet Game' from Hanabie is great but I don't know if you should do a reaction to it since with that song they signed to Sony and Sony almost always blocks.
Cool reaction men, 2:38 min seems a lot longer with so much going on. Hanabie look like they are a fun bunch of ladies, Yukina (the growler) actually won an eating contest they had. It was funny to watch.
Ok guys, you just committed to this rabbit-hole, so here goes! Japan has had an active all-girl metal scene since at least 1981. This is a starter list of all-female (or in eight cases, mixed gender) metal, punk, hard-rock and post-rock bands, with founding dates where I know them (there is some overlap with ones you have already done, my apologies). It's alphabetical, except for the first three, which are at the top of the list for historical reasons. They set the table for the explosion of Japanese female hard-rock, punk and metal bands. Note: I have tried to pick clips that are reactor-friendly because they are high quality and are representative of the band's style. You are likely to get suggestions mainly for Band-Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. You can’t go wrong with any of those, but I hope you will find time to check out more of the bands on this list. They are all worth the time and deserve the love, and many will really surprise you. My personal favorites include Asterism, Bridear, Doll$Boxx, existTtrace, Hagane, Hanabie, Mary’s Blood, Sokoninaru and Tricot. Ok, the list: Show-Ya (1981 The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring) They belong in any rock or music hall of fame: “I am the Storm” ua-cam.com/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/v-deo.html Shonen Knife (1981 The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones): ua-cam.com/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/v-deo.html Destrose (2005; This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in Japanese metal history, because so many great bands spun out of Destrose, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist): ua-cam.com/video/G1VwEGHPIhs/v-deo.html Aldious (2008 Glamorous and kick-ass rockers-one of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose) ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html Asterism (2013 Not all female, but will melt your face off- the guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and still a teen-ager) ua-cam.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/v-deo.html Babymetal (2010 The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing) ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html Band-Maid (2013 OK, there are 130+ great songs by them. Here is a live clip): ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html Bridear (2011 Heavy, technical-and their tiny bassist also growls): ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html Cyntia (2011 Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches) ua-cam.com/video/FnhObh5i_3U/v-deo.html D-Drive (2009 Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. And of course, there are other female-fronted Kawaii-metal groups like Ladybaby and Ironbunny, to name the two best-known after Babymetal. If you find others you think belong on this list, please let me know. And if you find a dead link, also please let me know so I can fix the list. Thank you!
I think you should add Light Bringer to your list because it was a really good power metal band, it was Fuki's first band and Mao has had a big influence on several current bands, especially Lovebites
One album out (it's brilliant) and several new songs recently...and they have ZERO weak tracks. And yeah, Matsuri gets great guitar tone and writes sick riffs to put that tone to good use. Another cool thing about Hanabie is that their songs and videos aren't afraid to take on challenging issues in modern Japanese society. Their most recent song "Pardon Me I Have to Go Now" is a perfect example (and an absolute banger, featuring interesting use of traditional instruments amidst the brutal growls and deadly riffage).

I was waiting to see what you would make of that.. hehehe. Right at the other end of the branch is Lisa X Band, which involves a member of Nemophila and isn't anything like these, but is in fact exquisite.
Hanabie are awesome - I will be seeing them in October. I’m seeing Band-Maid twice this month, and also seeing Chai in September, and Baby Metal in October. First time I heard this song, I'm not even joking, I cried. I used to delve into a lot of metal when I was younger, but then stopped for personal reasons. I was really having a tough time the past couple weeks I've been wanting to do some things I know I shouldn't do, but I felt so trapped and frustrated. I saw a song from them on an instagram reel ("Pardon me, I have to go now."), so I decided to snoop around on spotify. I chose this song, and for the literal first seconds I cried because it felt like all the anger, intense rage towards some people, frustrations, feelings of abandonment and loneliness, this giant weight just fell off my shoulders, and I didn't feel like doing the really bad thing I wanted to do anymore. Seeing you guys' reaction is giving me that same feeling. This band is my literal therapy and has been helping me a lot. I really wanna see them.

All of Hanabies songs are heavy bangers
Unlucky Morpheus, Trident, Band Maid, Wagakki Band and the controlled chaos of Gacharic Spin are just a few, your journey has just begun and i'm looking forward to following it
Great list! I would add Asterism. I would also add Doll$Boxx because it is hard to beat Fuki with the core four of Gacharic Spin

I would also add Maximum the Hormone to that list and also Sokoninaru.

I love Japan because after many years of ugly and dirty look metalheads musicians we finally got someone like Yukina that is super cute and can blast you with her voice, or other japanese women that hit hard with their gear :D
wee love you .. i mean wee love sweet...
i need more reaction hanabie
FINALLY! I love this tune and the band. When I first heard it it blew me away the hairs on my arm stood up and I had to restart it several times, I listen to pretty much all female metal bands from Japan and there are many if you look.
I freakin love this band haha
Hanabie are one of the top upcoming metal bands anywhere in the world. They are completely unique, blending metal/hardcore/rap/J-pop/EDM into an incredible sound. You have to hear Neet Game, LCG, Reiwa Dating App Generation and Envy guys 🤟👍
This song is fire and love it!!
They're just about to tour the US for the first time.. check tickets quick before they run out!
Hanabie. Aftershock Festival Oct 2023 Sacramento, CA
The best metal is coming out of asia right now. Dont forget to check India as well with Bloodywood :D
Love Bloodywood! There are reactions to them on this channel 😁
the breakdown, IN A BREAKDOWN, and then riff after riff, its freaking insane. and her screaming is heart warming. lol bro wbtbwb is so old. glad to hear it
I hope you caught them in their recent U.S. tour. They are amazing!
Great reaction! 😂 Hanabie FOREVER! 🥶💮
This song is the perfect introduction to this band. If you know people that never heard of them.. show them that song.
My #Harajukucore queens Hanabie 👑🌸🤘🎌 Next stop:
PassCode - Taking you out
Broken by the Scream - "Kokoro Harebare"
Miscast - Animus (Live)
More by them, please!!!! This is exactly the kind of reaction I look forward to for Hanabie hahaha
Band Maid for sure. “Thrill” should be your starting point. Apparently it is the song that saved them from breaking up.
Hanabie is great❤
A reaction that deserves to exist.
I’ll see Band-Maid again in Houston in May.
yep, 2:04 is the exact reaction i had the first time i heard them, which happened to be live....."wha wha what?"
AND THEY GO FUCKING HARD LIVE!
❤️Hanabie❤️🤘😜🤘❤️
They are Beasts of musicians
Saw them a few weeks ago when they opened for limp bizkit and they were absolutely incredible
Cool reaction men, 2:38 min seems a lot longer with so much going on. Hanabie look like they are a fun bunch of ladies, Yukina (the growler) actually won an eating contest they had. It was funny to watch.
Ah well before the song started, you mentioned we butter the bread with butter. Instantly hitting the subscribe button 😂
Best reaction of this for sure!
great group, great song, greatest réaction, thx for the fun
Finally 😎👍👏
Ok, the list:
Show-Ya (1981 The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring) They belong in any rock or music hall of fame: “I am the Storm” ua-cam.com/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/v-deo.html
Shonen Knife (1981 The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones): ua-cam.com/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/v-deo.html
Destrose (2005; This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in Japanese metal history, because so many great bands spun out of Destrose, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist): ua-cam.com/video/G1VwEGHPIhs/v-deo.html
Aldious (2008 Glamorous and kick-ass rockers-one of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose) ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html
Asterism (2013 Not all female, but will melt your face off- the guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and still a teen-ager) ua-cam.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/v-deo.html
Babymetal (2010 The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing) ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html
Band-Maid (2013 OK, there are 130+ great songs by them. Here is a live clip): ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html
Bridear (2011 Heavy, technical-and their tiny bassist also growls): ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html
Cyntia (2011 Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches)
ua-cam.com/video/FnhObh5i_3U/v-deo.html
D-Drive (2009 Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a lockdown version of their 2009 hit “Cassis Orange”: ua-cam.com/video/Mi0ykRvZ1LA/v-deo.html
Disqualia (2015 Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now a member of Nemophila) ua-cam.com/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/v-deo.html
Doll$Boxx (2012 Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki and Gacharic Spin) ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html
existTtrace (2003: Visual Kei, progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) ua-cam.com/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/v-deo.html
Fate Gear (2015 Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (until very recently) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list): ua-cam.com/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/v-deo.html
Gacharic Spin (2009 Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical) Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ua-cam.com/video/vfzIt20_xXg/v-deo.html
Gallhammer (2003 Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music!): ua-cam.com/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/v-deo.html

ua-cam.com/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/v-deo.html
Hagane (2018 Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019)
ua-cam.com/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/v-deo.html
Hanabie (2019 Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash. Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years.) ua-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/v-deo.html
Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below)
Lisa-X Band (Prodigy 16-year-old guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila). ua-cam.com/video/mN_oLqTka6M/v-deo.html
Lovebites (2016 Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO) ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
Mardelas (2014 Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in the biz) ua-cam.com/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/v-deo.html
Mary's Blood (2008 The first major Destrose Spin-out) Jedi-level lineup. Here, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html
Maximum the Hormone (1998 Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the female member of the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan.) This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) ua-cam.com/video/beN5ep5MrdY/v-deo.html
MergingMoon (2010 Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of Jinjer) ua-cam.com/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/v-deo.html
Mutant Monster (2008 Punk-pop, really good at it)
ua-cam.com/video/Fd6ymMR40NU/v-deo.html
Narumi (solo prog-rock and fusion compositions-a change of pace from a master guitarist) ua-cam.com/video/cRyCaHjwIgk/v-deo.html
Nemophila: (2019 Supergroup of ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki, ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam.) ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html
54 Nude Honeys (1992 Early Japanese punk-they toured the UK and Europe, and reports are that their crowds were as crazy as the crowds at Sex Pistols concerts) ua-cam.com/video/jHnJSoGN5Mk/v-deo.html
Otoboke Beaver (2009 in-your-face thrash punk, way out there): ua-cam.com/video/fkWfFXnLpYg/v-deo.html
Rie aka Suzaku (instrumental guitar) ua-cam.com/video/m6Z2GD5SqNs/v-deo.html
Sokoninaru (2011 Progressive metal, math rock, extremely technical; male/female cofounders)
ua-cam.com/video/MVxl0zXZBR4/v-deo.html
Sonic Lover Reckless (2018 Special project of Miyako Watanabe, one of Lovebites’ two incomparable guitarists) ua-cam.com/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/v-deo.html
Telecide (2016 Metalcore, aggressive and melodic at the same time) ua-cam.com/video/keq-7ZCluFc/v-deo.html
Tricot (2010 Post-progressive math-rock, highly technical with crazy time signatures and polyrhythms) ua-cam.com/video/P_B_GalsJrE/v-deo.html
Trident (formerly Kakumei, renamed in 2020 with some personnel changes. Evolved from pop-punk to thrashier hard rock; several lineup changes but the bassist and lead singer have been constants) ua-cam.com/video/9k9txMouU34/v-deo.html
Unlucky Morpheus (2008 Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above) ua-cam.com/video/V8i_QhOgsKw/v-deo.html
Wagakki Band (2012 Folk-Metal fusion band, all jedi-level musicians, half of them play traditional Japanese instruments and the other half play standard metal instruments) This song was originally written for a virtual (AI) singer, referred to as a Vocaloid
ua-cam.com/video/Q2meWkWqc-I/v-deo.html
Yōsei Teikoku (1997 Rock-Folk-Metal-Electronica fusion ensemble) Set up in a fictional Fairy Empire, led by founder Yui, they have done a lot of anime themes and sound-tracks and also perform original songs live, in character.
ua-cam.com/video/_EeYxtAeaX4/v-deo.html
There are many more (others that come to mind are BRATS, Drop’s, Stereopony, Scandal, Princess Princess, which all tend more in the pop direction, and the Bang-Dream projects, which are live groups based on Manga series. And of course, there are other female-fronted Kawaii-metal groups like Ladybaby and Ironbunny, to name the two best-known after Babymetal. If you find others you think belong on this list, please let me know. And if you find a dead link, also please let me know so I can fix the list. Thank you!
Thank you for all the information!! And yes I believe we have committed to this rabbit hole!!
I just reacted to Pardon me not too long ago. Solid song.
@@ThunderRooster Cool. Just discovered your channel and hadn't made it that far in the list yet.

MAXIMUM THE HORMONE!
WHAT!?
you guys should react to "eletric six" - danger
Hanabie = Ha na bee aye. Aye as in alphabet A.

I might be wrong, but I thought Hettsu’s bass was an ESP
Matsuri plays an ESP, Hettsu has an Ibanez
