Thanks for the video. I have a pulley on my tower for an inverted v. The pulley is too small or binding some so I might change it. It is my first HF antenna and I made my first QSO on HF just before Christmas 2021. I was able to be on the 3916 FreeWheelers net. Good group and they welcomed me very well. I intend to build a fan dipole and raise it up in similar fashion. For the fan dipole I plan on having a pulley in the center to life up and a pulley on each ground post holding tension on the wire. The wire at the ground post is a rope and I picture baking some kind of weight pulling tension on it. Many ideas. I just need to build the thing. When I was working as an engineer, they had this saying to shoot the engineer and sell the product. Haha. As an engineer I might overthink things a bit. All the best, 73 de KI5HXM

Good onya' Dave! damn decent to send this system to Tom (make his antenna work easier) :)
I use a similar arrangement for my TTFD, makes repairs/modifications and maintenance so much easier...

+SpectreOZ Yes, David, Ken and Richard have been very generous with providing me with antennas and equipment to test.

I loved your video. I want to build a mast just like yours. I was wondering how isthe base? Cemented in? Tripod? Or just standing on the ground?
    Thanks

+Theo T This particular one (I have about 4) is just standing on the ground and mounted to the house. Not the best way to do it!

this new antenna set up you have does it perform better than your dipole antenna set up ?

No and probably one of the main reasons is my G5RV dipole is about 25 feet high at the peak where this antenna is only about 12 at the highest point. Therefore the dipole is above the trees.
