The Elephant & Castle at Black Country Living Museum - A timelapse of construction

A year ago today we opened our replica of the famous Wolverhampton pub, the Elephant and Castle. During construction, we took two photos every day to capture its construction and created this time lapse to show how it happened.
A key landmark of our 1940s - 1960s development, the recreation of this beautiful building wouldn’t have been possible without our supporters, and as always we’re raising a glass to say a huge thank you! Established in 1978, Black Country Living Museum is one of the UK’s leading open-air museums. Designated by Arts Council England for the quality and national significance of its collections, it attracted over 300,000 visitors in 2022.

I remember this iconic pub. Demolishing it in Wolverhampton was criminal. Thank God it's been recreated at the Black Country Museum. It's an important part of our Black Country heritage.

I visited the BCLM last month and found the whole experience thoroughly fascinating and enjoyable. The Elephant & Castle pub is beautiful...great job folks!
