Great video and awesome photography. I am going to start getting into photography, I used to just use film (35mm) but I was considering digital and also drone video and photography.
New Subscriber here. I am a former Sports Photographer for a local weekly news paper. I stumbled across one of your videos while researching a new DSLR. I admire your passion and enthusiasm for photography. Looking forward to future videos!
Thanks for the post/feedback Austin and glad to be of help!:) I suspect you have some good stories regarding sports photography as well:). I find night sports to be the most challenging (the need for high shutter under relatively low lights):). Welcome to the channel! Feel free to follow me on Instragram if you like - instagram.com/realworldpicts I just started the account and plan to post more picts soon:).
Thanks for the video I have been writing on the internet about Mexican food and sharing my pictures and now some of those pictures are now on the internet with other people's names, learned my lesson but the best pictures are on my computer and I will watermark them before releasing them.
Great video, I very rarely post online and when I do I have a preset that makes the image tiny and impossible to print. I also use the signature watermark that you get in 'Preview' on the iMac. I do like how this program makes the tiles, I think that is brilliant and if you’re selling prints etc well worth doing. I don’t know if you use them or not but the thing I thought UA-cam was bereft of was a decent video on how to use a Spyder ColorChecker. They put out a video themselves which was extremely dry and just someone reading the instructions that came with it. It’s not over complicated and quite easy to get to grips with, but I just remember how poor the info online was. You’ve got yourself a great channel here with a wonderful community, well done because without your approach and teaching skills I think you are making things much easier the those new to photography. Or in the case of the copyright info in camera far from new, but that’s the great thing about photography, it’s a continuous learning process.
Thanks for the post/feedback Mark:). I try to put myself in the shoes of others which helps me to better understand the overall approach. I find it rewarding to simply help people:).
Thanks for the post/suggestion!:) I will add this to the list as I suspect others may benefit as well:). Feel free to follow me on Instragram if you like - instagram.com/realworldpicts I just started the account and plan to post more picts soon:).
Please make a video about how you save and manage all of your images on light room. Do you keep them all on external drives? Do you have to carry around all the drives with you all the time? It's so easy to run out of space on my laptop. Thank you
I really like your videos. Maybe in one of your next videos you can explain on how to clean the camera. I got a friend who cleans his sensor at home by doing it with alcohol and a little brush. I also heared from some people that it is possible to give the camera to a shop and they do the cleaning for money. Until now I just cleared the front of my lenses from time to time but never had the courage to clean my sensor because I'm not sure if I do everything correct. Do you clean your sensors by yourself or let you do the job by another person?
Thanks for the post!:) Ahhhhh yes, this sounds like a great idea for an upcoming video:). Yes, you can clean the sensor yourself if needed and I will break-it-down. Stay tuned!:)
Hey there. A little bit of offtopic. Can you please recommend some wideangle lenses for landscape photography? Im still newbie at photography and all that stuff is still wery confusing to me. I have Nikon D7100 now with 18-105 nikor lenses. But i need/want some wideangle lenses for landscape and if possible for night/sky photography. Can you give any advice for that? I will look for used lenses for under 200-400euros. And thanks for your time and all these awesome videos!
Not a problem:). I would suggest the Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 ( amzn.to/2ktmNVu ) or the Tonkina 11-16 f/2.8 ( amzn.to/2JfcS4d ). Both are great and cost the same. The real difference is in the aperture. I might lean towards the Sigma simply because it has a bit more range and the 3.5 aperture is good for landscapes, etc.
This is an interesting topic as I typically send images off to be printed. I printed at one time but quickly discovered various places had better equipment/material, and I felt it was more cost effective for the most part.
Thanks for the post/question Mani!:) When you are in aperture mode (A on the dial), the camera will control the shutter speed. If you a faster shutter, you can try to open the aperture more. When you are in shutter mode (S on the dial), the camera will control the aperture. If you want to control the shutter speed, simply go into shutter mode. If you want to control both the shutter and the aperture, go into manual mode (M on the dial). If you go into manual mode, pay attention to the exposure indicator (the row of lines located at the bottom of the viewfinder). When the main/larger line is in the center, you will get a properly exposed image:). Hope this help!:)
Carefully:). You will need Photoshop and lots of patients (using Photoshop's rubber stamp tool):). The total time needed will depend on the watermark's size, location, etc.
How much for the android watermark app: I would like to stay free but it shows ive purchased it. That was not my intention. How do I cancel this order and the app
not a problem. i suspect the google play store has other options but i need to take a closer look. if you ordered something in the play store, i believe you can submit a request to cancel/refund without much trouble ( this might be of help - support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/1060830?hl=en ).
Unless you want/require a rotating touch screen, I would lean towards the D7200 for various reasons ... much better battery life, a few more focal points, higher max shutter (1/8000 vs 1/4000), and Nikon removed the AA filter (anti-aliasing filters which tends to soften images).
Hi, any ideal of a place to show or sell your work? I ve done a lot of personal projects, but I seldom post anything close to what I shot......I usually do 1 photo a day, and the avg time it takes to produce is 2 hrs each, or til my wine glass is empty
LOL - no, not at this time:). I have created many videos on different cameras (including the sony a6000, canon 5d mark IV, canon T6i, etc.) but decided to create more videos using the D3400. Why? For two reasons ... 1) it is a good/solid entry level camera and 2) it is what i had/have at the time:). I am thinking to get a Sony mirrorless camera at some point as I have received many questions on the camera/manufacture.
thanks for the post/question greg. unfortunately, photoshop is not free:). photoshop costs much more but is also capable of doing much more:). if you already have photoshop, this is not needed.
Great tutorial.I use this software Mass Watermark to batch watermark and resize my photos.

What if you have a logo already that you want to turn into a water mark? How do you add that in the imaging instead of typing ?
I believe this is doable but you will want to create a transparent background.
thanks! this helped so much

LOL - til my wine glass is empty:). You might consider iStockPhoto or 500px Prime (there are a few others to consider as well).
Here before 65 views.
That’s what I mean I have photo shop so I don’t have to buy another program
Agreed:).
Even without resizing, the image size went from 15 mb to 2 mb post water marking.. that's a massive loss in quality
Thanks for the post/find:). I did not experience the same and will need to take a closer look.
John doe? ARE YOU JOHN DOE THAT ONE HACKER THAT HAUNTS ROBLOX IN A ONE DAY or is that just your real name
Why can’t you use a app and just add text?
watermarks allow you to control transparency which is nice:).
RealWorld ah ok
30% Of the video you are talking about the price .what’s going on it’s look like everybody is poor .that’s shame just talk about the video
