I look forward to the new clip every time. Thanks to your channel, I learned how to use Affinity products from scratch (and saved a lot of money). Thanks for what you do, and keep up the good work!

Really liking your channel! I'm new with Affinity. How come when I go to File-New-Setup Custom Resolution and Create, I get a square solid white canvas. It's not checkered like yours. Does that matter? I also noticed when I draw in the text box over the canvas, the layers on the right show two black pictures under layers whereas yours shows a black unchecked bottom layer and a top layer with the checkered canvas with a black rectangle across it. Thank you.

When you create the square have you ticked / checked the "transparent background" option? If you do it will create the checked square - I see that Olivio has this option ticked.

Great video! Really clear. Works well on Affinity Photo for the desktop but on the iPad it does not give me the same additional windows for the same option for the macro to batch export with watermark. Is there a work around for this. Thanks!

Hi, the "security" part aside, the watermark get people to read your name and that is worth the effort.

Thank you so much for your clear step by step instructions. I do have a question, when I apply my watermark to a photo the photo is less bright. did I miss something like deleting background? Thanks again for your great videos.

Excellent! This was very important, thank you.
Is it better to select a light grey color instead of white (on the wording) in case the picture is mostly white?

I got stuck after I type the text of my watermark. I'm using Affinity 2.4 as it's 2024 and I realize this video was 3 years ago. Does all the photos in the batch need to be all vertical and horizontal for the watermarking in the batch to work? I'm looking to do a watermark (photo credit) on a batch, but it would be just one watermark in the bottom left or right of the photo, not like the one in your video going across the photo several times.

Appreciate the video! When 'placing' the image, I'm getting the error message: "Macro Recorder cannot record 'Add Image'" -- any idea why? Thanks!

I got lost from the beginning. How did you get a transparent page or document from the start? Mine is solid white. I couldn't make the text tool work. It just made a box inside the black rectangle on the white page. The more letters I typed the bigger the box! I couldn't make it work like your tutorial at all.

    • @TarkynSharples2

      Click File > New...
In the New Document window that appears, on the right hand panel are the sections for Layout, Colour, and Margins. Under Colour, there is a check box that you can select, Transparent Background.
If you have already made a document, you can toggle Transparent Background on and off, by going to Document > Transparent Background.

As for text, I'm not certain what your issue is, but make sure when selecting your text tool, that you do a long click on the text tool icon, until more options appear. From there, make sure you select Artistic Text Tool.
When using that, your text will not be constrained to a text box.

    • @mtntopviking
      @mtntopviking 3 роки тому

@@TarkynSharples2 I did select the Artistic Text Tool but could not get it to work right. I'm going to try again today, Thank you for responding.

The video was very helpful. Unfortunately, it fails for me at the last place, because the saved macro does not show up under new batch job. Why doesn't my Affinity save the macro?
    Maybe someone could help me..

I think placing a watermark or copyright in your images is important. It doesn’t matter if you are commercially successful or an amateur, we create our images and they are property and we should protect them from being used without permission. It is the same as not locking your front door and then complaining that your property is missing, just make an effort to keep it secure.
