*Worked perfectly right out of the box **MyBest.Tools** a nice compact bench bandsaw, that will work with 1/4 to 1/2 inch blades! First use was a joy, better quality than I expected for the price ! ! !*

Good luck with the new saw! Tip*....one thing that is super helpful in eliminating bandsaw vibration and having smother cutting, is to make the upper and lower wheels what is called "planer". That is when you lay a long straight edge diagonally across both wheels from left to right and from right to left, after adjusting the upper wheel tilt mechanism the straight edge touches both wheel's outer rims on four points at the same tilt adjustment. That means that the wheels are properly in line and the blade will track best. If you can't make it touch on four points you have to move one wheel in or out and or change the twist in a wheel. Most saws have the ability to move the wheels to make that adjustment (usually the upper wheel) , some don't. It's not uncommon for new saws to not come planer from the factory. You have to take off the table to do that alteration and not have it interfere with the straight edge, but it is worth the effort and once you are firmly set you are good for life. There is literature available on the subject. Mark Duginske's book on bandsaws is a good one, I think the subject of adjusting to planer is in there. Making planer also helps in not breaking blades.

I just picked one of these up on Friday. I haven’t assembled it yet, but I got it 20% off so that was a huge deciding factor. I already have some upgrades in mind

You mentioned watching an assembly video that was sped up and you weren't able to see the assembly process because of the speed. A good tip is to click on your "settings" icon at the bottom of the screen and change the playback speed to the lowest setting. A lot of times, this will slow the video down enough to see what you need to see.

That piece you don’t know where it goes is the clip that holds the electrical cord on the inside to keep it from getting pulled out of the machine. I just got one myself!

This looks exactly like the casting of my Grizzly bandsaw. cast iron table is different but everything else is the same. I believe HF bought the casting blocks from Delta and now makes this saw. Many, many upgrade parts for this saw. One tip, release the tension on the blade after each use. It keeps the blade from setting out of round and the saw doesn't vibrate as much. You can buy an extension handle for that adjustment and a stronger spring. both I recommend. Maybe new tires as well. one last thought, have you balanced the wheels?
with the tires on but the blade removed, spin the wheels and find the heavy spot that settles on the bottom when it stops spinning, put some metal foil HVAC tape (don't use cloth duct tape) on the opposite side (up) and spin again. and again and again until it's balanced as best you can. Really smooths out the saw.

I just picked up a “vintage” delta version of this saw, I can say that the HF casting are a far better finish than the delta. A big plus is that essentially every part of this saw is available online, and they are all pretty much comparable, delta, jet, National, HF, porter cable. It’s a good design except for the upper wheel mount is weak.

Could you put a riser for more resaw capacity on this model? It’s hard to tell if the arm is removable.

Now that you have had a chance to use it for a while do you think that you have any regrets? I'm interested in buying one like it, but I am very interested in what you have to say about it.
    Thanks.

What is the resaw height? You mentioned that the cutting height was 6 inches so I am thinking that is the resaw height.

Over the last 13 + nearly 14 years now. When I moved where I am now, very close to a Harbor Freight. I’ve learned a couple of things while acquiring a surprisingly vast number of their tools. Including non-powered hand tools as well as electric powered hand tools and also pneumatic both low & high pressured varieties.
1st just like the saying “you have to be smarter than the equipment you’re operating. You also have to be smarter than the equipment you’re considering to purchase. If They Have 2 or 3 Levels of quality of the same type of tool. Never Ever Buy the Lowest Level. Unless your plan is to leave it in the box and throw it in the trash. At the Very Least get the mid level product.
2nd I’m puzzled when I hear people complaining about the instructions. And to be clear. I’m puzzled about the people doing the complaining. Because first it’s not a Harbor Freight exclusive problem. 2nd you’re showing me at least you’re not “Smarter than the Equipment You Are Operating” these instructions were first written by people that knew nothing about tools to start with. Additionally English is not their 1st language nor their 2nd or 7th and so on. So after it was written by this frustrated novelist trying to at least make a living by writing. It’s translated by someone that quite possibly does not speak either language very well. Combine that with they know less about the equipment than the writer he’s translating for. It’s like your complaining about a fish being a fish and not a hammer. If you’re not smart enough to put the thing together at least to a degree. Perhaps think about a new profession or hobby. Maybe one where you’re not endangering your life or worse the life of someone else.
