I honestly can't remember if I said this or not, because I made this video over a month ago, but I highly recommend anyone that loves Arkham City to try this challenge. This is a challenge that actually changes the game, rather than just make it inconvenient and tedious. Beating NG+ is hard enough, but doing it pretty much without gadgets is unbelievably difficult! Here's a crazy idea: can you spray explosive gel on all three generators when Solomon Grundy's health bar is all the way down, meaning he's stunned and he won't attack. This happens in between phases 1 and 2, and phases 2 and 3, meaning, in theory, you could beat phase 1, spray all three generators, then once phase 2 starts, detonate them, followed by you reapplying explosive gel while Grundy is stunned so you can detonate it on the final stage. Would this work?
That's an interesting theory that might actually work, too. Though, I also have a feeling the game accounted for this in some way, but it could be possible.

Excuse me? Quick fire WHAT?!?! I HAVE BEEN PLAYING ALL THE ARKHAM GAMES WITHOUT THEM (except the batarang). I had to spray fully the explosive gel on the Solomon Grundy fight. I don't know If I sould laught or cry
I’m stupid in video games sometimes so I didn’t realize there was a quick fire explosive gel when I first fought Grundy. I got till stage 3 then I realized the little hint at the bottom of the screen and I learned how to beat him lol. I’m stupid sometimes we all are
Question- what if you wouldve used the Remote batarang, turned it around in the steel mill, and then when its in the back of the room you exit control and try hitting the other two switches with the batarang and batclaw? There wouldve been more distance the remote batarang has to travel, giving you more time to hit the other two switches
I tried that, but there was never enough time to exit control and fire them off. If I was on mouse and keyboard and had better aim, maybe. But since I’m on controller, no.
When me and my cousin played this and we forgot that you can quick fire gel. so we tried multiple times while going slow until we remembered that you can.
it took me 3 days to defeat grundy when i was a kid cause i didnt understand how the quickfire gel worked. it wasnt until i threw my controller on the ground that batman did a quickfire and then i figured it out.
I wonder if the triple batarang would hit those switches properly. If you did it from a clean save then you’d have to do a lot of xp grinding. I gotta say using the sonar batarangs was incredible
Arkham city It was literally the first game I played in my life and I didn't know how the Quickfire mechanics worked. It took me 2 weeks to get through that batrang session in the beginning
3:07 and unlike Batman Arkham origins, or Arkham Asylum batman doesn’t have double or triple baterang slot, where you can hold more than just one battling in Batman’s hand, Aim it and then throw it at multiple targets are goons
I’ve been playing the Arkham games since I was a kid and I only ever quick fired the baterangs in combat until recently so this would probably be easy for me
You know something funny he struggled with the grundy boss fight even though there was a pretty simple answer. So at the beginning of the fight, you may struggle, but after you do blow up the things on the ground while grundy was there waiting for batman to start punching him to start the next section of the fight before you did punch grundy you should have sprayed the explosive jel on the electric things so when the next section of the fight started you could immediately beat grundy and repeat
Technically you can do it in a new save file, since the sonic batarang is an upgrade, you can scavange some riddler trophies and get it relatively easy.
When i first did the solomon grundy fight i didnt use quickfire because i completely forgot that the quickfire gel put the gel on the ground so i just did it slow, i somehow didnt die and finished the boss fight
I’ve been playing the Arkham games since I was little and I still barely use gadgets in combat unless absolutely necessary and I 100% new game + for Arkham Knight
so those switches are actually possible, at least on 60 fps, i used your strategy of batarangs and the batclaw, and i did it. i'm on the steam deck though
I tried activating the three switches without quickfire gadgets in the steel mill. Not playing it on new game plus and I was able to hit all three fast enough. By timing Time this correctly in super quick succession, I was able to hit all three without quickfire gadgets not on new game plus. Sniper in the courthouse kills the run within the first 10 minutes. Possibly tracking the ninja through her blood as well if you don't know where she's going, though that's a fair bit later.
Do you know about the wonder tower skip where you can go to the top by using the grapple boost into the lift/elevator switch directions and glide to the top of the tower so the enemy’s don’t turn on so it’s much easier
