    Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

    I've never thought about migration as a natural human phenomena before, I'm kind of sitting here with my wind blown as I come to terms with the arbitrary and meaningless nature of borders and nations and government and...

    • @dystopiadream
      @dystopiadream 8 років тому +60

      Tom Morgan Migration is actually what separates Homo Sapiens from the other Hominids, like the Neanderthals. Our ability to travel and spread and adapt to all climates was what made us so successful as a species!

    • @Skyerzen
      @Skyerzen 8 років тому +41

      we are evolved precisely to migrate. look at the size of our legs to the size of our bodies, not even horses have the same ratio of leg to body. We were evolved and marathoners. We are meant to walk and run long distances at a very good pace very efficiently. Read "Born to Run" it's eye opening.

      Boarders and goverments exist for a reason and that is to keep those inside the country safe but those moving from one country to another is natural and it can most likely be traced back to the very first humans that existed we moved around to generation after generation for food,adventure, agriculture and opportunities etc. You can trace back nearly every human beings ancestral history and find out that they were from a foreign land at one stage or another if this isnt natural I dont know what is.

    • @scaryfaced1
      @scaryfaced1 8 років тому +5

      Humans were more successful than other predators because prey couldn't escape us. No matter how fast the animal runs, we can slowly catch up. Most animals rely on burst speed or natural defense to protect them, but you can probably guess how that works when early humans were hungry. Modern humans are lazy comparatively and we run marathons for fun.
      As tools developed, we hunted bigger and bigger prey, cooking is basically pre-digesting food, so we get more nutrients out of our hunts and aren't as sluggish after eating, bone marrow provided the fuel for brain growth, repeat this pattern until the only animal big enough to threaten us is ourselves and there you go.

    Some Americans do not believe they are immigrants they "feel" they are settlers, but the actual Americans are the indigenous people who were here well before the settlers...who came from Europe.

    • @RealityIsTheNow
      @RealityIsTheNow 8 років тому +9

      Can't tell if serious. There seriously are some crazies who think that the Native Americans slaughtered early European immigrants thousands of years back, so careful playing with that fire. But seriously, if we keep the logic consistent, either we call call whoever gets to whatever place first "native", or we can call everyone outside of the Rift Valley of Africa "immigrants"...because that is the actual origin of the human species.

    I expected Colbert to mention The Science of Sleep while listing his accolades.
    Gael is within top 3 male actors, easily.

    Yes, i know its the year 2016 and some Americans don't know Spain invaded what we now call Mexico during the renaissance (1500s for Trumpeters out there) so Mexicans come in a variety of colors and we are also American, and from other countries i know its shocking

    Not to sound like a "language nerd," but, fortunately, I can honestly list (ESPAÑOL) como mi idioma segundo. So, for my fellow Americans who are learning to speak this sublimely seductive language, and who appreciate Gael Bernal Garcia, do watch any of his interviews in Spanish. Of course he talks quite fast, and you may not catch it all at first, but this is where his (REAL) charm & wit come through. He's fascinating! (San Francisco 🌎👮🌐)
