I bleached my hair to get it light enough for bright red box dye and now I'm struggling with bond building masks to restore it. You can bleach your hair, but it definitely adds unnecessary damage when you use a box dye over it because of the peroxide and ammonia. I just ordered the Xmondo "super red" color depositing healing mask. For fashion colors, I think it's a better idea to use bleach and then stick with semi permanent colors. Especially Brad's stuff since it has bond builders in the color.

Yea, blonde is fun for a bit … but I love the dark hair more lol. I’ll cut and chop on my hair til the cows come home, but I’ve learned to leave it alone when it comes to color. Feels so much nicer and I’ve gotten way more compliments on it just being natural and healthy as opposed to any other color I’ve done before.

Im not talking about just this video, it happens in practically every bleaching video. (There's a difference between complaining that you didnt achieve your goal colour or that the colour is patchy or just generally not nice, and then there's complaining that your ginger)
Srly! I am in LOVE with my henna! It didn't pop on my dark hair until I bleached and the henna popped out so brick orange! I was in love with the color! It's annoying when ppl just complain about brassiness and don't seem to realize orange/ginger/redheads or hennaheads are a whole thing on its own that can loved and appreciated!

I ordered that laifen hair dryer you recommended last video while it was $80 off and just used it for the first time while watching this video, it’s awesome!! It was so quiet and powerful that my dog came over and insisted to be blown with it lol. I’ll definitely use it on her during shedding season. I love watching these videos. Makes me think back one of my college days. My friend wanted to dye her hair and asked if I could help her. I had never dyed hair before. She's like "oh you're mixed so you're probably the most qualified so think of it like a relaxer, but not a touchup." 😅. We had quite a bit to drink as everyone gathered around. Surprisingly it looked really good and even. I honestly thought it was a fluke that i pulled it off and every time she'd asked for me to do it again I'd just say leave it to the professionals...i knew better than to touch already processed and dyed hair haha.

I'm home with COVID and decided this is what i do while I quarantine. I got old red salon dye out, lightened with bleach, and dyed a beautiful ash blonde. And I DIDN'T FILM IT. It came out so good and my hair is still curly and healthy. I wish i had a video to show

When I was teaching color theory I always said before you wash bleach out (if you’re going for as light as you can) you want it to look like white chocolate.

What's forever puzzling to me is that some of the people in the videos know and watch Brad's videos, listen to his advices and mention them in their own videos and then don't actually apply them properly. This is pain (but also more entertaining content for us, I guess)
Always remember, if your hair is dry and porous, the purple/blue color from toners will stain your hair in certain spots, but only temporarily. It’ll wash out after a few washes and look a lot better!
One idea for you Brad, would be to hunt for videos of people who started making mistakes but evolved to know how to do their own hairs wonderfully after a few years.
I love the comment about at-home users not necessarily being skilled with a brush. I legit am only able to touch up my roots with a brush and when I do all of my hair, I use the brush to get it on the hair and then work in with my fingers. Brushes are HARD! Especially for us who are untrained AND are doing it on ourselves.
I’m a natural brunette mix with black and SOMEHOW; when I went blonde, nothing fell out, I kept my curl pattern and my hair was still very healthily shiny. Also, it was virgin so I’m almost positive that’s why but even when I went back blonde, nothing came out
This is why I don’t do my highlights at home, my hairdresser does it and I come out happy. My hairdresser is incredible and I’m never unhappy with my colour and style

If I see it at Sally's I am getting it for sure. I have curly hair so of course my hair is very dry but not as dry as it used to be though. As I have gotten older my hair has thinned out so it isn't as dry any more. I so wish Brad would do a video on Women's hair thinning out as we age. That would be so so helpful and thinning hair for a women really sucks. My mother and grandmother went bald yet my dads has hair. So I know I am next to go bald. I am 55 years old. I've found Mechanics gloves work amazing if you have long/stiletto nails. (They are designed to let you grip things And resist tearing even when rubbing against metal bits)
