In fact the video comes from the 10th October 1986 edition of The Chart Show's indie chart, where the Soup Dragons were at number 8. After that they played the number 1 song "Dickie Davies Eyes" from Half Man Half Biscuit. Then they played an indie exclusive from Goodbye Mr Mackenzie called The Rattler, which featured an unknown Shirley Manson, playing the keyboards, who later on became the singer of Garbage !!!!
thank you for putting this up - waited a long time to see this again - had 7 " on blue vinyl - the soup dragons at their best - the best songs are always the shortest !
Great band, saw them at Birmingham Uni in 86, my mates were already fans & dragged me along, excellent gig - the drummer was awesome! Brilliant seeing the Chart Show graphics towards the end, I had a recording of Depeche Mode's Question Of Lust for years with the same 😁
This song came from The Chart Show's Indie Chart way back in October 1986 !!!! This is my fav Soup Dragons song. I personally think they went downhill in the 90's, when they tried to copy the Baggy scene !!!!
Do you have the Indie Chart from which this came from? I imagine it also included songs like A Question Of Time by Depeche Mode, I Don't Wanna Be Friends With You by Shop Assistants, Love Affair With Everything by The Woodentops, State Of The Nation by New Order, Stay With Me by The Mission and of course, Dickie Davies Eyes by Half Man Half Biscuit! Song's quite good actually, though I'm still more familiar with I'm Free (isn't everybody)!
@v6v10 No idea where any of them are these days, though Sean (vocalist) used to DJ at a gay club night in Glasgow named Burly. Since it's demise I've neither seen nor heard of him.
O! Tak! :) Zawsze świetne, alterowskie neo-big beat'owe granie końca lat '80. Pan przy werbelku wygląda jak co 2 drugi nowofalowiec-alterowiec tamtych lat.Wiem co klikam. I will not write a word in English. :)
@maestrodimente loved the Kes Klub ............me and the girlfriend (now me wife) went religiously every weekend until some tit fae upstairs wrecked the bogs and the bouncer accused me and banned me..........cue walk out and the DJ....(wisnae Tam) getting threatened if he didnae start playing again!
I have no idea how you write such a perfect banger like this. Part surf, part Buzzcocks, part genius. A fabulous record, still love it to this day.

They should have stuck with the post-punk approach.
