No Traces / No Alerts / Perfect Stealth / S Rank.
* *
RULES:
1) Perfect Stealth / No Kills / No Combat Alerts.
2) NO TRACES bonus requires:
No CQC (hold-ups are allowed)
No direct physical contact with enemies, like kicking or bumping into someone [the game makes an exception here for "bosses", like Eli]
No weapons or bionic arm attacks
No support weapons, including empty magazines
No attacks from buddies
No rank-restricting equipment, like active camo
No supply or vehicle drops (calling in the chopper is allowed).
3) EQUIPMENT:
Enemies have maximum level of preparedness against covert actions
All enemy equipment is left intact (mines, cameras, helmets, etc.)
My own equipment is fully upgraded with all bionic arm upgrades unlocked.
4) As an extra challenge, when dealing with enemies who are not the mission targets:
No hold-ups
No distractions
No suspicions raised.

I think this and the next 4 missions highlight the major problem with the implementation of open world in MGS5: why try to sneak through an outpost when you can just walk around it? There is simply no reason to engage in stealth when there is so much unguarded empty space surrounding the guarded zones and you have tons of options to traverse it quickly. As a result, the game becomes less of a "tactical stealth action" and more of a "slightly tactical running action".
Plus, in these later missions your objectives are often placed on the outskirts of mission areas, and not in the middle of them (unlike, for example, the 1st episode where you have to rescue Kaz). Here you can easily ride around the edge of the map and get to the ship without encountering any of the child soldiers, even during the day. It is such a lazy design and a real disappointment after the Afghanistan missions that usually managed to avoid these issues.

+prenatual "Open world" is basically the definition of flawed in the current state of game development.
+prenatual "Why try to sneak through an outpost when you can just walk around it?" 1 its fun 2 might get good soldiers for mother base and if people don't want to they can go around it. But yeah its so lazy to make a huge map with no load times.
+prenatual I have this exact problem with most Open World games, and I tend to enjoy Open World games less than linear games that have multiple solutions through a level (Dishonored/Thief/Deus Ex/Hitman etc.)

+djscarface1 The kids' AI stops being responsive once you manage to capture/subdue Eli. Miller himself specifically said so in his briefing.
Once you capture Eli all the kids fuck off and cease to be a threat
They are more focus on the copter than Snake himself. Thats what i see

@@diamondgirls6141 yeah that always works, for some reason npcs set helicopter in higher priority than snake so they in most situations just ignore him (tested in different missions) Also if they spotted the heli it didn't count as they spotted you so it's still perfect stealth and no traces.
That's by far the best speedrun of them all

some gamers do things over and over and over, looking for ways to get it down. Sometimes, its the developrs who are "players" and they make videos. They make it look easy, but it doe'nst always go that smoothly. You can do these EXACT moves EXACTLY the same, but just YOUR luck, you might literally run into an enemy crossing your path in YOUR game.
No wonder Eli hates Venom so much, getting punked like that.
Tanqing the kids and fultining is a really good way to remove the "deamon points" if you become deamon snake
One thing i like about this mission is that unlike the adult enemy soldiers, the child soldiers run away when the helicopter comes in and are aware they stood no chance even though they have AK47s on them
How come Big Boss gets patted on the back for stomping on kids but when I do it I "need to leave the orphanage" and "am a horrible heartless person"
The only mission that I managed to get foxhound and no traces on was the mission where you intercept skull face's helicopter. It's probably the hardest stealth mission in the game, which makes me a bit confused as to why it was the only one I could accomplish.
Slightly tactical running action does seem sadly appropriate for this game. My playthrough was filled with tons of running from LZ to mission, then back again and a lot of these videos of yours also spend like a good minute or two before things actually start happening, and that's not even counting the helicopter ride you need to sit through if you initiate the mission from the menu.
Pretty disappointing!
+ZGK&NAZ I agree, it's annoying how much you have to travel in each mission, even when you accept them in free roam. The helicopter dropping you off at some secluded location, so that it doesn't get spotted and you get to listen to the briefing, I can understand. But they could have placed those ground terminals much closer to the actual mission areas (like in Ground Zeroes), so that you wouldn't have to repeat the boring parts and listen to Kaz again when replaying missions.
Were they trying to justify the existence of vehicles and buddies with this? Otherwise there is very little reason to use them in most situations.
the sad thing is that even with all these problems, and the fact that is basically unfinished it's still one of the best games that came out in the last 8-10 years.. just to say how videogame industry slowly made us buy shit year after year..
I just used one of the tranq rifles to put him to sleep from afar. You can run far enough into the waterside to get a clean shot of the tip of his head.
Also, usually I will take a lot of time during missions to extract anything that isn't physically glued to the floor. c:
After a long and drawn out fight, because I got the cutscene where I meet him face to face, I came here to see if Prenatual had a different tactic or set up some sort of trap to take him out without Eli resisting......NOPE, just land on his head and knock him out lmao I can't 🤣
People complain about length of each missions. When first play through mission you have no clue where target is, then once done mission you do again and know where to go. Hence done quickly.

Lmao people saying stealth is bad in this game. This game has the best stealth in the series. Previous games had some of the goofiest stealth gameplay ever. Having random people blocking your way needing to get tranqed or taken out is not some kind of incredible stealth gameplay.

How the hell do you get Eli to notice your footsteps without going into combat mode? Every time I try to stand up for a split seconds he goes "CONTACT" and I have to 1v1 him. ????
I thought it was impossible to not have a pistol in the secondary weapon slot. I thought it was only possible in the subsistence missions.
