Marilyn Monroe is great but I honestly can't imagine anyone else but Audrey in that iconic black dress, with the pearls, long black gloves and the cigarette in her hand. She was perfect for the role; her beauty is just so classic and timeless.
and yet, compared to modern trailers, this one didn't give that much away. The actual plot of the movie isn't even mentioned in this trailer. Yes, there's the romance, but that's only part of the story.
i usually hate it when movies become so "iconic" and famous that sometimes people call it a classic just because everyone else does...but this movie is actually really great in addition to being super iconic. Audrey was fantastic :)
Audrey Hepburn (May 4, 1929 - January 20, 1993) is the prettiest woman I've ever seen, and in my opinion "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is her signature performance. The kitchen scene in this trailer: 1:08 -1:20 breaks my heart every time.
I mean you were closer than me, when I was little I'd only heard the song "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and had no idea it was really a movie so I was just confused trying to figure out who this "Tiffany" chick was and why they were always eating breakfast at her house. XD
It's quite different from a modern day movie trailer, isn't it? More of a soft sell approach... no loud noises and its much slower than what we're used to as well.
***** agree, in modern trailers they hint on the plot, but there's still a guessing if there actually is more to the movie. here, they just give away the most important part of it...so there's nothing more to be expected.
>>----------------> You're putting your 2014 sexual oriented mind into the more innocent meaning of a 54 year old film. Not everything revolved around sex in earlier times like it does today.
I may not been alive when this movie came out, but my god... isn't internet great, I mean like really really great!! =D and we take internet for granted !"geesh"!
Yeah, I gaped at that, too. If you rewind a little, the caption says something like, "everything you've always wanted to do in New York," and then follows with, "with Audrey Hepburn, the one you've always wanted to do it with." They're not talking about sex, but if your eyes miss the first caption, it seems like they are!
It’s marvelous to think that I’ve been enjoying this film for over a decade and I’ve never actually seen the trailer! What a surprise and delight for me today on this lazy Sunday afternoon ❤️
Christ, this trailer spoils way too much. The cab scene is literally the climax to the entire narrative and its thrown in half way through. I really wouldn't recommend this trailer to anyone who hasnt seen this film.
January 20, 2012: I fell in love with Audrey when I saw this movie for the first time a month ago. After seeing more of her movies like Love In The Afternoon, Charade, and War And Peace, I now realize how amazing, charming, and beautiful she was and she always will be. 19 years ago was a terrible day for the world because we lost not only a wonderful actress, but a wonderful human being. God bless this wonderful woman's soul.
I'm 18 and I watched this movie when I was 16... Breakfast at tiffany's is the most sophisticated and glamorous movie EVER, like ir or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!! America needs another Audrey. A remake of this would be interesting!
Older films have a nice vibe. 80s the best I love the voice overs of he narrators. So old fashioned and polite their voives are! Like her look in this film too although she was so trashy and promoted fake charities. George was good too. I love longer trailers and FILM
xeverykiss do your research. She was far from classy. That false charity work, dropping real charities in the 50s and affairs with married men and the casting couch said it all
I've just sat and watched this Classic Rom-Com from 1961 and, although it did not have much of a story to it, it did capture a kind of charm from a bygone era.
I would watch "Breakfast..." as manny times i remember i miss it...Is an immortal movie.Like i would watch "My fair lady" and all the incredible movies of those times...
Audrey Hepburn was not only a talented actress she endured some very tough times during her teenage years in WW II. At one point she did not have enough to eat. She also worked with the Dutch resistance (had she been caught it would have been prison camp or a death sentence.) She was also a Red Cross nurse. In fact, a British paratrooper she helped recover was none other than Terrence Young, who later directed her in "Wait Until Dark.," 1967. What a legend she is.
I'm 20 already and I've heard of Audrey Hepburn many many times throughout the years, and yes this is my first time watching this trailer and all I can say is: She is Gorgeous O.O ...
I hate how trashy the world is today. I look back at the older generations and wish I was born back then. Everyone around me thinks I'm arrogant and full of myself because I choose to talk like the movie stars of the 50s and 60s and not swear every 2 seconds.
This film is one of the best film of the cinema of all time, he's so romantic, glamour. And I am fascinated by the beauty of Audrey Hepburn, she's so natural. Now, most actresses are redone.
I am fifteen. I just watched this movie. Now it made me wish I have lived in '50s-'60s. Audrey is awesome here, so optimistic and proud of her self. She is shining with selfconfidence here. I wish I am like her here. :-) Long live Gold Hollywood :)))))
Yeah, I was misinformed lol. The director wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly, she was his first choice but Marilyn turned down the role because her acting coach didn't want her to play this role.
Brizzy Lopez It was actually Truman Capote himself who not only wanted her to play Holly, but visualized her as Holly when writing the book. But Marilyn's team passed on it, so ended up with Audrey and the rest is history!
Allen M. Quinn I think if this was remade (which it surely will), I'd say Jennifer Lawrence could play the role of Holly. She looks a lot like the description of Holly from the book and I think she could be really good as the character.
This film is one of the best film of the cinema of all time, he's so romantic, glamour. And I am fascinated by the beauty of Audrey Hepburn, she's so natural. Now, most actresses are redone. Sorry for my writing, I'm french
This is absolutely my favourite movie :) I could watch this movie every single day. I love all the vintage things, and I got my wall full posters of vintage actors, including audrey hepburn :)
I haven't seen this movie ever and this is the first time I've seen this trailer. It convinced me to watch it. Just goes to show how well made things were back then to entice me, even now, to watch this movie. :)
This movie is so great! New York, funny scenes, cute scenes, Tiffany's, great outfits, great music and of course Audrey Hepburn, who's just so very... Audrey! Love it.
I just bought the soundtrack record at the Goodwill vinyl bin. Great music! Now after seeing this trailer, I've got to see the film. I agree with Mittenzzs, Audrey's gorgeous.
I think both Marilyn and Audrey are 2 great divas, two of the greatest ones. One is better than the other one. One is more beautiful than the other one. There si no a contest.
Marilyn Monroe is great but I honestly can't imagine anyone else but Audrey in that iconic black dress, with the pearls, long black gloves and the cigarette in her hand. She was perfect for the role; her beauty is just so classic and timeless.
Vip Phandomxx true lol Marilyn Manroe is for a white dress

and yet, compared to modern trailers, this one didn't give that much away. The actual plot of the movie isn't even mentioned in this trailer. Yes, there's the romance, but that's only part of the story.
@@Hans-gb4mv the actual plot of the movie isn't mentioned in the movie. It's not so much a story, but a collection of stylish scenes.

Are you serious?
haha... no xD!

When I was a child I thought that "Tiffany" was the name of a chain of coffee shops! I mean why have breakfast in a jewellery shop! Haha!
I mean you were closer than me, when I was little I'd only heard the song "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and had no idea it was really a movie so I was just confused trying to figure out who this "Tiffany" chick was and why they were always eating breakfast at her house. XD
Natalie Harshman whahaha!
I thought it was a restaurant or an hotel where you can have a breakfast ...
Out of all the movies I watched by Audrey Hepburn, this was and still is my favorite!
they had no idea how to make trailers, did they?..
What are you talking about? This is a fantastic trailer...
It's quite different from a modern day movie trailer, isn't it? More of a soft sell approach... no loud noises and its much slower than what we're used to as well.
***** like alot of trailers to day tho huh?
spacedudejr nah m8. these days the movies might be shit, but they never give away the whole plot in the trailers like they used to.
***** agree, in modern trailers they hint on the plot, but there's still a guessing if there actually is more to the movie. here, they just give away the most important part of it...so there's nothing more to be expected.
"No. People don't belong to people"
Oh. Tell that Taylor Swift.
+Natasha Corleone ???
+Grace Faith Taylor Swift has a song "You belong with me"
Yes, "with me" not 'to me'
coolgirlin #q8tya Do you know that new thing called... joke?
+coolgirlin #q8tya You're an example of why I don't like Taylor Swift
This is the longest trailer I have ever seen! :))
watch "Gone With The Wind"'s trailer.. :)
1960s Social Engineering. Mind Control.
"The one you always wanted to do it with" XD
i had the same reaction! haha
Yep, I read that and I said to myself: WTF???!!!
>>----------------> You're putting your 2014 sexual oriented mind into the more innocent meaning of a 54 year old film. Not everything revolved around sex in earlier times like it does today.
surearrow
It's still a little funny though ;p
Yes...it is funny to our non-innocent minds. I agree.
Happy birthday, Ms. Hepburn! You were a beautiful woman that will forever win over the hearts of people :)
Did they really put " Audrey Hepburn the person youve always wanted to do it with" at the end. •.•
The beautiful, raven haired Audrey Hepburn.....doesn't she look gorgeous!

+Coco Pops no way did you just call Audrey Hepburn trashy
xeverykiss do your research. She was far from classy. That false charity work, dropping real charities in the 50s and affairs with married men and the casting couch said it all
I know the whole movie by heart...can't stop rewatching it!

TOTALLY CLASSIC!! YOU HAVE TO HAVE THIS MOVIE IN YOUR MOVIE COLLECTIONS!!!
Mr Yunioshi, so damn wrong.
True, i hate that part about this movie but other than that i can still enjoy the wonderful Audrey Hepburn in this iconic film!
The guy was so hot

Sophie Louise same this is my favorite movie of all time!!
I'm sorry, I didn't get that. WHO'S the leading lady again?
AUDREY WTF HOW DO YOU NOW KNOW?
Someone doesn't understand sarcasm.
This is a great classic movie and Hepburn's wardrobe is really lovely. A look captured by many, including myself. Love it!!
I never really watched old movies. But this movie was so wonderful that it made me very willing to watch older movies.
They practically spoiled the whole movie !
To me actors in old movies sound so artificial.
Omg. I thought I was the only one.
it's called upper class or transatlantic English
to me, actors in modern movies act artificial to recapture older movies. no cgi, no hundred million contract ,originAl and came from the heart.
Exactly
I hate how trashy the world is today. I look back at the older generations and wish I was born back then. Everyone around me thinks I'm arrogant and full of myself because I choose to talk like the movie stars of the 50s and 60s and not swear every 2 seconds.

Marilyn Monroe was going to play this part but sadly died before she got to :,(
But she died a year after this movie was released..........
Yeah, I was misinformed lol. The director wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly, she was his first choice but Marilyn turned down the role because her acting coach didn't want her to play this role.

I can't help smiling through the whole trailer she such a good actress and she is Beautiful!

Just finished watching the film like 20 minutes ago! Such a little gem this movie really is!
this will always be my favourite movie for ever and ever !
Watched this movie for the first time after years of wanting to watch it, oh my gosh, it was amazing!
This is absolutely my favourite movie :) I could watch this movie every single day. I love all the vintage things, and I got my wall full posters of vintage actors, including audrey hepburn :)
Such a beauty, with an elagant voice
I haven't seen this movie ever and this is the first time I've seen this trailer. It convinced me to watch it. Just goes to show how well made things were back then to entice me, even now, to watch this movie. :)
Audrey is probably the most adorable and popular Hollywood actress in Japan.
thank you very much Mr. Blake Edwards ....
"Elegance is not the only beauty that never fades"
Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn)
Great classic movie to watch, i watched it the other day in black and white :P added a nice touch to it on a rainy day as it was.
Breakfast at Tiffany's is such a glamorous movie!

The way she says, "Won't you join me?". I was like "Oh yes, anytime!" Audrey, you beauty! 😘😘
She's my all time favorite actress.
I think both Marilyn and Audrey are 2 great divas, two of the greatest ones. One is better than the other one. One is more beautiful than the other one. There si no a contest.
Ohh Gosh look at the "cell phone" (the suitcase on the floor) incredible.. that's amazing!!!
